What makes "flirting" in Netflix High School movies even worse is that most of these movies are probably made by people with outdated high school experience. Think of it as that teacher trying to be cool with the kids showing that they like memes.

If you like that scene, you should watch the movie called "Not Another Teen Movie". It's a parody movie from the early 2000's about all of those dumb teenage rom-coms. It's absolutely hilarious, and I think it was one of Chris Evans's first movies.
I love how they had an obviously old guy play a teenager as a nod to how high school movies always have people playing teens when they clearly not.. 😅

I kept waiting to look like the girls from pretty little liars when I was in 10th grade and wondered why I still had all that baby fat on my face and looked like a pre schooler compared to them
The subtle details that made this so realistic was both the lack of music in the real life scenarios and the lack of a more visually appealing colour grading.

True, also ppl may say to that that reality is boring, but it really isnt depending on what you choose to portray.. Reality is a blend of a whole drama, it can be boring/cool/embarrassing/disgusting/happy/satisfying/horrible/scary and so on and give you all the different emotions..
Ppl forget that thing that they call fiction gets its concept from reality itself, even tho its sometimes changed, exaggerated and so on...

I remember watching HS films thinking it would literally be quite similar. It was so much more intense and chaotic and I went to one big house party and it was so lame I made my parents pick me up. Half of the popular kids I knew are dead or with married/divorced with kids
