The 3rd party upgrades are nice grabs for many figures. My issue is that the initial production is so limited they sell out quickly. You're then left either paying inflated e-bay prices or doing without. I've no choice but to do without.
It would be nice if you could contact these specific manufacturers and special order them. That way if you pick up a figure later on you can still go back and get the upgrades.
I've noticed a lot of the sets I passed on initially and sold out came back in stock after a few months, so a lot of the companies are doing reissues.
Well he just wouldn't be a proper giant Japanese mech without a big sword. That is one cool toy. I never knew he had a sword, but it really is a nice touch.

Just like Thrilling 30 Metroplex can combine with Siege Six-Gun and Kingdom Slammer, Titans Return Trypticon can combine with Siege Brunt, EarthRise Scorponok can combine with EarthRise Fasttrack and Generations Selects: Legacy Black Zarak can combine with Generations Selects: EarthRise Black Roritchi.
I just love the Transformers: Generations toyline when they make cross-compatible figures for previous sub-entries. Call-backs at its finest.

How many upgrades does this Fort Max have? I plan on getting him soon.
I think he has DNA DESIGN DK-02 (The hand, waist cannon & cerebros upgrade), DNA DESIGN DK-04 (The foot, leg & crotch piece upgrade), the Perfect Effect Cannon & now the Solution Set Master Cannon & Master Cleaver Set. He's done videos on each of these.
What upgrade set includes those awesome eyes? Just got my sdcc max yesterday and it includes the sword and gun although a very different kind of sword actually. It’s just plain red without the transparency.

Where do you even find a Solution Set these days?
Not sure, probably Ebay right now? BBTS often gets things back in stock after a few months of being sold out though so you could check back with them in a while.
Try toydojo.com. I got a set there a few weeks ago after they did a review of it.
@@sidearmsalpha I actually ordered my set from there shortly after commenting. Everyone else was sold out so I figured that Toydojo's sale price was too good to be true but lo and behold, I got a shipping notice so it must be true!
