Indeed... It stems from the fact that the roadside places where the houses and buildings are located are privately owned and they have been privately owned for a long time. It would be very difficult for government to suddenly demolish them for the expansion of road. We however are building multi-storied roads / flyovers. Chittagong has solved the problem partially by having a city wide flyover network.

Yes as a Bangladeshi, I cann't help but agree traffic of Dhaka is the most worst thing happening in Bangladesh right now. Even thinking about it irritates us. Yesterday I had an important xm of my uni. And I knew I need to attend it on time so for safety I took the bus 2 and half hours before where the distance is of 1 hour and half. There the day was this much unlucky that I reached my Xm hall only 10 minutes ago. Traffic of Dhaka is Extremely time consuming + headache, back pain are free.

Well.. lot of things she said, i agree w/ her. Pakistan's city planners are way much better than ours... they are more aesthetic and matured whereas our city planning is relatively new and
full of confusions. Thanks to Allah almighty, current government took huge initiative to improve the infrastructure in a massive scale. InshaAllah, we are heading in a good direction , we will see the change in the coming days. We must understand Pres Ershad's vision to decentralize the development ...so that all zilla and thana cities are developed equally and people dont have to migrate to dhaka and other major cities any more. Because of the Padma bridge and the new expressway..i am sure lot's of people are thinking and in the process of leaving Dhaka city.. which is a very good sign...and at the same time, if we have a bullet train system like China, then people will think twice before shifting to Dhaka. May Allah bless us all & keep us in peace, amin.

it is estimated that in 1971, West Pakistan's military massacred about 3 million people in East Pakistan. The massacre took place during the Bangladesh War of Independence, when West Pakistani troops massacred civilians to suppress the independence movement in East Pakistan. The massacre is considered one of the most brutal incidents of Bangladesh's independence war, and the atrocities of the West Pakistani army have come under heavy criticism worldwide. The U.S. is happily getting along with Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism, and Islam, but I don't understand why India is all segregated. Was there a lack of inclusiveness?

False allegations that 3 million bengalis were killed. infact 3 million west Pakistani+Biharis were brutally killed by Mukti bahinis, and this figure is attributed towards bengalis,
Ms. Bose has cleared this myth in her book.

The divide and rule policy by British has turned cracks into chasms by not only dividing but sub dividing into many different classes and categories. South Asia needs to get out of this colonial mindset. The similarities in culture should unite and not divide.

Sad to hear that eve teasing-harrasment being that common in Pakistan. In this south east asia region Bangladesh is actually the safest country in terms of women safety but there are men who would scan a woman's body top to bottom even if she's full covered or in hijab but teasing and touching a womans body without their consent is not that common in here unlike India and Pakistan, still most our girls choose modest clothes over western becuz we don't wanna loose our culture and values trying to be woke like India. Btw Bangladesh is also ranked 1st among south asian countries in terms of gender equality

There are several interconnected factors that might result in these differences. Sexual frustration and culture differences might be two of those factors.
Even though Bangladeshis claim themselves to be a Muslim majority, they are still involved in dating and having sex out of wedlock. A person performs well in their day-to-day activity if they are not sexually frustrated.
Pakistan has multiple different cultures and people migrate urban areas in search for jobs. Usually, these emigrants are the main culprits for sexual harassment. They might attack on women with the sense that they might not get caught since they are in a different city.

Although a very articulate, relatively educated and intelligent girl/woman (what is she doing in Bangladesh?) she has not stated the fact--Bangladesh and Pakistan are culturally very different. In 1970, Bangladesh had a higher population. In 50 years Pakistan has gone way ahead in population as Pakistanis are less educated, respect women less, and treat women as breeding animals like cows and pigs and preferred to stay at home with 'Hejabs'.Punjabis are closer to the Taliban while Bangladesh is closer to Malaysians.
