Thank you very much for sharing the US premiere performance of this work, Richmond Symphony! And thank you to your wonderful orchestra, amazing staff, and Valentina Peleggi for making this a reality.
Truly amazing performance: bravo. And what an intriguing piece! So nice to have another concerto for the oboe. Happened to hear the last movement of this work with an UK oboist on NPR last week & started searching to hear the whole piece. So many colors & moods! Ms. Needleman & Ms. Gipps make the oboe sing, dance, yearn, yell, charm, whisper, be wistful & even creep us out (near the end with percussion & trumpet)! Thanks to all in this performance for bringing this to American audiences via a bold yet tenderly masterful example of American oboe playing. The dedication to bringing this to the fore is greatly appreciated.
I'm grateful you made this available. An excellent recording, a wonderful performance, and a delightful piece. I love the duet with the clarinet at minute 23.
I dont know the concerto…and not the soloist. BUT I LIKE HER PLAYING!! The best I have heard for years. Thanks from a retired collega. (B Hoff also in RUclips)
