I wonder if it the story would've been more focused on the impact of machines/development and its positive/negative effects it has on nature because of it. You see it in the first game but mainly in notes or in background details. Nefroburg Station used be a large Rose garden that was ultimately demolished to make way for the train, Owl Woods was facing massive logging and we even have to move Connie's mom out of the city due to the pollution.
Maybe it could've focused on how trotmobiles and the advancement of technology leaves those who are unfortunate behind? We see this in real life as well, where large cities will demolish areas to make room for highways. Since we see Basil and the new characters as poor/homeless, I think that would've played a huge theme in the second game
I think it would be a really interesting quest if you were asked to help make a highway between Nefro and Garland or even Garland to Neuhafan. Then you have to consider the idea that you would be displacing lots of people but in return you get an easy way to the cities instead of having to trek through the side areas. Make it a reward of convenience kind of thing like with the Hiyabusa plant and giving them the machine that ultimately replaces the silk workers.
@@pokefanjd5033 Now that is a really cool idea. They want you to build a highway that goes over the sabbia dessert and maybe you could choose whether to do it or not and that would have an impact. Cool idea! Nature thing could be good as previously it was about the impact technology had on humans so this time could be nature
In an interview from May this year, the producer was asked about Bumpy Trot, and it seemed like he was seriously considering picking up the series again, but he was leaning more towards a remake of the original in order to reintroduce the series. This makes sense since the 2nd game probably built a lot on the original story, so you kind of have to be a veteran of the series to fully appreciate it. The original game is pretty hard to find and it had many flaws and half-baked implementations that I think they could easily fix. He did say in the interview that it was an experimental project. If they remade the original, they would have a lot of assets to help streamline the remake of the 2nd game.
I'm pretty sure that they did remake Disaster Report 4 from scratch, despite the fact that the cancelled version was pretty much done, so I think that's how they would approach any new Bumpy Trot game as well.
I have a hunch that they will start working on a remake once Disaster Report 5 is finished. It's pretty clear that the producer is considering it and now they've worked on DR4-5 back to back, so it makes sense to do something else.

i have the original game still and my kids have been watching me play it and my 6 year old been begging me to play as a bad guy lol . the price for a copy on ebay is crazy . if it was remaster and they made the 2nd one too id actually think of getting a new playstation . i been playing it on my backwards compatible ps3 the past few days . iv had the game since it came out and absolutely love it .
I only played the game back in 2016 but it quickly became one of my favourite games on the ps2. I really appreciate the Steambot chronicles content you put out!

@@gitgudjoe It just felt like a real quality game at a time where not much was catching my eye. The degree of freedom the game gave me to explore and weave my own story. I need to go back to my most recent play-through and help the village on the other side of the lake reconnect to the mainland.
First played steamboat chronicle I was teenager, now I'm in my 30s makes feels all kind of sad not being able to experience this franchise Again.
I went with a Blue and Black color scheme for my Trotmobile. I leaned-in hard on the Nautical/Sailor theme in the game, so I often got some variation on the Poseidon nickname. Usually Gridiron, Funky, or Gigantic Posiden. 😁
I loved this game for what it was it was always meant to be a gem for someone lost in a used game store browsing the usual next gen wallet busters when a jrpg cover to a game catches your eye the art pulls you in to read more car mech battles open world sandbox rpg that even for being a prev gen cursed to be released at a horrible time was cutting edge for the time had day night cycle hunger meter romance custom mech wtf take all my money's now n I'll put money down for a sequel now

If the game was remade today, would you prefer the common control (left stick move, right stick rotate) or the original control (two sticks to control and rotate)
2 sticks original all the way. I never understood people who didn't like the controls. Sure it takes some getting use to but it makes sense when piloting a mech and makes it much more realistic, like you're are actually controlling it.
@@gitgudjoe It's true that it's difficult to control the trotmobile for the first few hours. Controlling trotmobile movement is a skill. Vanilla's camera rotation is one thing that should be changed.
@@gitgudjoe @Timbang Honestly, if someone was making the game it would probably be safer to add in both control schemes but, default it to the original 2 sticks. Then if someone gets frustrated and was going to give up early they can google the other control methods, swap to it and hopefully play the game.

@@FlameHaze285 Or have it to where trotmobiles have a manual/automatic mode. Automatic being a more starter/user friendly, and manual being the traditional controls

Dam I remember watching this trailer as a first year college student in 07 who was a huge Sony fanboy lol ps3 was suffering at the time with $600 price and everyone had xbox so I wanted every ps3 game exclusive to succeed and this was on my radar

You know many people would crowd source and donate money to see development on this game? At least 3 whole people but man those 3 are die hard fans that prob would fund this whole game outta pocket and donate before paying their own rent lol....I know I would be 1 of 3 I loved this game

it won't.. all the game files were lost and dev team died in a tsunami.. best we can hope is they remake the game with updated artstyle..
