Awesome as review man! My single complaint for this machine is the micro SD card slot... it's too fragile for constant use and can get damaged easy by bumping into it. I would grab a micro SD to standard SD extender then you're set. I'll be directing people to this vid next time people ask me to review the CR-10 as there's nothing else I think I can add.

This is my first intro to 3D printing, and I found it fascinating! Thanks to each of you guys - you were easy to understand, and very happy to share much of what you have learned about your experiences with your printers. My two favorites were “13 things I wish I had known before I began,” and “All the printers I Own and why I think each one is/or is not the best.” Again, THANKS to You Both.!!!!

I recently bought CR-10s with two Z-axis motors. After some tries, I managed to print directly onto the glass with no glue, hair spray, etc. My secret - heated bed at 75 C for the first two layers and 65 thereafter. Also, extruder at 215 C. If you have issues, print with raft - helps a lot.

I am in the U.K and tried to order the CR10 3D Printer yesterday on GearBest but PAYPAL blocked the transaction. When I went and Google searched "Is it safe to buy from GearBest" it brought up an alarming number of unhappy people in the search results. The complaints ranged from poor communication, even worse repair advise, parts replacements etc. And they leave the customer holding the ball as far as import tax which they themselves refuse to pay and fail to warn the customer about up front. They sell the wrong power plugs, which requires the customer to research and source themselves and not everyone is familiar with electric, electronics and other forms of technology. In a nutshell? Go to Amazon or Ebay for your 3D Printer. This guy RCLifeOn is very helpful and delivers important and relevant information in a humourous way. We really appreciated him making this video. Liked, Shared on Google +, FaceBook and Twitter, and Subscribed. Pat and Charlie saying thanks from Ireland. ♥

Nice review of the Cr-10. I have one and love it. I have it running around eighteen hours a day printing one thing or another.
Not trying to be pickey but you forgot one important item during the assembly process. Check the voltage switch on the side of the control box to make sure it is set to the correct voltage for your country or region. All the CR10's I've seen shipped to the US are set to 220 volts and must be changed to 110 volts

I find that most RUclips videos are much, much, much longer than necessary for the information communicated. Thank you for being so efficient and getting to the point so quickly.
By the way I really enjoyed your side by side comparison, though your choice of the fox I think was a mistake because it did not appear to have any curved surfaces which I think would have provided more of a challenge to the various printers and exposed more quality differences.

    Hey RC,
I have had the CR-10 for about a month. I use it every day and agree it is a fantastic printer. I have had great luck with this printer. If any of you guys are on the fence about this one, I don't think you will be disappointed. I paid $395 USD from Banggood and feel I got a great deal! The RC coupon makes it a GREAT deal in my humble opinion. Thanks RC for the upgrade files. I have the strain relief already but plan to print the fan director. Thanks for posting. - Sonic Ox.

Abs is very simple and actually easier to print with if you have a good enclosure. Pla drives me crazy with the stringing and cooking needed. Abs I can print and walk away with no worries about blobs and stringing. Plus the plastic is much stronger and outlasts pla by a long shot. Finally, warping is never an issue with a handy purple glue stick. Frees itself the moment it cools too. Win/win.

Thanks for this review. You saved me a ton of headaches. Looking to buy my first printer and like most started looking at the A8 and almost ordered the tarantula. After seeing this I'm going to wait another week and get this one. Looks like I won't need to spend weeks printing new parts and fiddling with settings and calibrations. I will build a plexiglass enclosure however.

Watched a really good "Creality CR-10 Upgrades" video by 'Nexi Tech'. One of his mods was adding bed insulation. Based on your experience printing ABS, it sounds like the CR-10 could benefit from a bed insulation mod. It would be nice to see a step by step on how to do something like that. Thanks for the great review.

I have a Maker Farm Pegasus 10 that uses the same V-slot and tire setup instead of 8 mm rods and linear bearings and once you use it you never want to go back. It's very quiet, faster and more accurate and with auto-tramming it's a no-brainer to use, it truly is plug and play once you get it set up and calibrated.
I'm guessing it has a PCB style heater run at 12V which is why it heats so slowly and poorly. That's why I opted for the Pegasus 10 (250 x250 mm) instead of the 12 (300 x 300 mm) because you just can't heat up a 300 x 300 mm bed with a 12V PCB heater. A good upgrade would be a line voltage silicone heater controlled via a Solid State Relay and given the initial low cost it would still be a very good deal for what you get

Well, I live in Thailand and I'm having a problem getting my printer. It's here but I have to go purchase a import license. ($33) Then I have to pay $41 import tax. The Department of foreign Trade is 135 miles (200km) away and I have to take a bus then a $20 taxi ride. So, unfortunately, I can't give you an answer on the printer yet. I could have purchased from a local importer but it was $40 more. They already did all this stuff I have to do now. That is why it was $40 more. Didn't know about all this at the time. I will post an up date when all this is done. Sorry.

The layer separation you showed is not cause of the heated bed but because of your print settings.
And the layers are nice and you then show a print that has many easily visible artefacts.....

Hello RC & YT community, I am a 50yr old Army veteran partially disabled and unable to work due to pain... However, I am able to work at home… My life long hobby has always been building and detailing models... I recently talked about 3D printing to my brother-in-law and quickly realized the income possibilities in selling models/kits... I wanted to ask you and the community a couple questions in regards to 3D printing:
    1) How difficult is it to learn how to 3D print? I have zero knowledge & experience on this subject.
    2) My PC specs are: HP Omen Intel Core i7, 16GB Memory, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, 2TB Hard Drive, 256GB Solid State Drive. Can this PC handle this 3D Printer or any other?
    3) Aside from the cost of the printer (Currently about $320) and filaments, are there various other cost of items / equipment to be purchased?
    4) Is it realistic to project at least a min. of $3K per month as income from selling my 3D printed models / kits?
Thanks in advance to all whom provide insight of information/answer questions.

    • @TheKBrosTech
      @TheKBrosTech 5 лет назад

I'm not sure if this is an actual geniune person asking this question on the internet but here it goes...
      1) It's not *too* difficult to learn how to do so if you're at least relatively computer literate, (and know a bit about engineering I guess to actually assemble it by I digress) but you definitely need to have the time and patience to learn some new things. It might be frustrating at first, and this machine in particular is not exactly "user friendly" at all.
      2) That computer is an absolute beast and could handle anything you throw at it with those specs.
      3) Printer maintenance is the only thing I can think of atm, but other than that not much "additional costs"
      4) Probably not feasable? It really depends on the market, I mean, how many people want to buy single color plastic trinkets from an unknown seller? Usually people buy this kind of thing to make custom parts for the home that they need.

Hi, Simon! Greetings from Portugal.. Siiiiiimmm! Hey, i bought a clone CR-10S. The first steps, are a bit tricky. You should give an absolute beginner tutorial, because after that, we all can keep up, i think..! ***1- When i home my printer, even with bed leveling on minimum height, the nozzle goes some mm below the glass..is it normal? ***2- How do we know, that both steppers from Z axis, are at the same hight, because in of the long Z axis screws holder made of coper, was not screwed/atached, so i rotated it manualy.. ***3- My bed is in both sides, without tape, so, if i decide to put a layer in one side, i have to again level everything, to compensate the thickness of the tape, right? ***4- For starters, is Cura enough? ***5- I´m paraphlegic , wrote you before with Q&A suggestion, and understand answering everybody is impossible, but I have time. So much so, that i want my first print to go out..What is the recomended speed in mm/s that i should chose in CR-10S settings in Cura? ***6- Tweaks on the software xyz of the printer? ***7- Finishing tips, like heatgun or acetone or so? ***8- Basics of fusion 360, maybe? ***9- RC planes shell, filled with expanding foam.. very, very long fpv range experiments.. ***10- Lets build some crazy rocket or missiles with sugar, mixed with RC toys? ----> that´s all.. just some thoughts for your inspiration and interaction with us. --> CR7..Siiiiiiiimm!!

... possibly? Caveat Emptor! I'd have to recommend you get one from the US, not GearBest (GB). Having GB send you a printer for free and ordering one from China with your own money are two different things. I feel stupid for ordering after seeing this video but not doing my research on the company. I ordered one 2 weeks ago from GB, joined CR-10 FB groups all excited and found out that a lot of people are having problems with GB, to the extent some people are calling it a 'fake company'. GB told me today, for the second time, 'one more week' before they can even ship. They had something on the web page saying how many units they had and now they say that was 'just for your reference', not an actual stock amount. As in 'pay us, we'll make a big order when we have enough money, and ship whenever they can ship to us'. Also, look at the Wanhao printers Monoprice is selling, and Prusa i3 kits. I have two friends with the Monoprice (Wanhoa) Select Plus. The plus to me was that it was shipped from the US and they got it in a few days, not a month+. Good luck.

interesting thing to note. the CR-10 seems to only be found on gearbest.
Creality doesn't have a website its own. but if you look up the

would say its identical to my afinibot a-31. down to every nut and
    bolt.

I have been watching your videos for some time now, and last week I ordered an ANET A6. I blame mostly you :) Nice videos, although it kills me a little bit inside every time I hear you pronounce 'cheap' :P
Anyways thanks for cool videos and keep up the good work!
    Thumbs up from Finland.

are you going to do a 75k give away or wait for 100k? Both should come quickly with your content!

Fantastisk recension! Ser fram emot nästa. Fråga: fick du betala någon tull när du importerade till Sverige? Och vad blev den faktiska leveranstiden?

I just want to warn everyone before you go buying off from Gearbest for their amazing prices.
I've waited 3 weeks to have my printer shipped.
1st week they said my address was wrong and it had to be changed to an english address...(I live in Portugal)
2nd week they said they had received new warehouse stock and were too busy to deal with my order and that I'd have to wait a week for it to be ready.
and now, they just got back to say there is "no available shipping method" for my order.
Makes no sense, they said there were European warehouses, show available stock on the website, and gave lame excuses for 2 weeks.
This is just a heads up, might not happen to everyone.

Turtle yeah they just cancelled my order without informing me so hopefully I'll actually get my money back. I'm really quite nervous

Do you still recommend this printer or would you recommend something else for a first time 3d printer?
