Dr. Lori, I very recently discovered your channel and can I just say; please don’t listen to those who don’t get your east coast directness. It’s part of what makes you amazing and so fun to watch. I’m originally from New York so I get you. Please don’t let the snowflakes ever even give you PAUSE. I think you’re great. ❤ I’m trying to hone my own skills now, thanks exclusively to you. You’re an inspiration and that is everything.
Another excellent "Real Bargains" by Dr. Lori!! I'm gathering my goodies to run by you Dr. Lori before selling them for less than their worth! Great storytelling, I felt like I was right there! And thanks as always for such fun & valuable information! :)
Hi I’ve been binge watching your shows. I love you going to the thrift stores & sharing information about specific items. My husband & I used your video service before with the painting that was hung in the Tate museum and we were about ready to donate some other paintings when you advised us they were worth a lot more than we had thought. I learn so much watching you. I love your show.
Thank you for all the work you do to help us find treasures. You're the best and I'm signing up for another class but can't decide between a painting I found in the trash or a bronze and ivory faced Victorian dressed lady. I think it's a hand held dinner bell but it's missing the clapper if it's a bell. The underside has wear, where a clapper may have hit when it was rung.. I might pick that one because you'll know what it is and I trust you 100%.
I’m having so much fun watching your videos, and just bought my first Dr. Lori suggestion- a ‘Made in Canada’ Corningware pie plate, in the blue cornflower pattern. Paid $7, and I love the good memories it brings me too.
Its true about the bottom shelf. Found a sterling silver heart toggle necklace on the bottom shelf of jewelry department at the thrift store.😊 Thankyou ❤
I bought a condiment jar for $1.50 at a thrift shop and I knew it had to be Waterford because it was very white crystal, very heavy, and inticately cut. So i spent about a month going over it with a jewelry loop looking for the Waterford signature . I was about to quit but one last search and I found it on the bottom edge so well cut into the design faceted edge that you had to tilt it just right to see it. I forget the pattern name but it is one of the most expensive patterns. It has so many facets cut into it that it shimmers like a diamond when you move it. The only thing is it didn't have the crystal little spoon that went with it .
Dr. Lori, I wish you would tell us about the items you have on your table in front of you each time you video. I'm so curious about so many of the them.
Thank for all the great content. I've learned alot from your videos. Appreciate you taking your time to help educate ppl. If some ppl don't appreciate f um. There's way more of us that Appreciate you than don't. Keep smiling :)
Employees in thrift stores hide merchandise all the time. Because they aren't allowed to buy it immediately. They have to wait a 2, 3 or 4 day period. That's why it worth digging in odd areas. I found a brand new jewelry box for $19.00 because someone rat holed it in the junky man tool area.
@Dr. Lori ❓Hello! Thanks for the video. Question: is it safe to say, generally, that any WEISS brooch that is roughly the size of the one you reviewed in this video would be worth AT LEAST $150? Thank you
@@DrLoriV I don't have a piece to show you. I was browsing online and I think I may have found a couple that are way undervalued and could be good buys...
If a glass piece isn't marked, how can you tell the specific artist, much less the fact that it's Murano? I try to identify pieces, but I'm just not good at it yet!
As soon as I saw the art work, I gasped, 'It's a Dufy!', no it can't be...........yes, it is. BINGO! somebody hit the jackpot. Congratulations.
Exactly!!
I always like to see people do well. Thanks Dr. Lori.
I love these stories!
Same here, it is nice to hear of people having good luck. 😊😊

NYC trash has better stuff than all the thrift stores where I live!
😂 I’m in SoCal, the San Fernando Valley, and just wish I could find anything for a reasonable price, let alone in the garbage!

Happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. Many factors affect value, so I'd have to see your piece to determine its value.

Search my channel for Murano-tons of video where i show you what to look for
NYC flooded basement apartment+careless clean up crew = $40,000 painting in the trash
😲🤯💖awesome
$40000 for that painting that is amazing and just think hes got his rent. Paid in? New. York for a long time
Dr Lori- the brass round candle holders on your table… what are they worth ?
Do you have similar pieces?
If a glass piece isn't marked, how can you tell the specific artist, much less the fact that it's Murano? I try to identify pieces, but I'm just not good at it yet!
Have you watched all of my videos on the channel about Murano glass? I also have an article on my website about Murano.
