    I want to say thanks. You got me into scrapping. I work at a manufacturing plant that throws out a ton of stuff. I get alot of old copper wires and a ton of cut off extruded aluminum pieces. They said what ever hits the trash can feel free to take. I dont have a lot of room so no steel or most things. I only take it 5 gal bucket at a time but it adds up fast.

    How I get rid of wax (on candlesticks, not scrap) : place in oven on a pile of newspaper or other absorbent soon-to-be trash on a disposable foil pan, at the lowest heat she'll do. Leave alone for a few hours. The wax melts out like it's supposed to do. I've gotten vintage ones that were caked (old menoras are a case in point) and this works just fine without boiling things on the stove. You can always burn the paper in a fireplace etc if it's candle wax.

    I dont understand all the people complaining you should have sold whatever item in stead of scrapping it. First of all if your garage is too messy you spend more time earning less. And some (most) of theese items just take to much time to flip.
    Thats my take on your situation. And i live in small Sweden and for me im pretty damn sure its even worse. Anything that is not used by pretty much everyone is pretty hard if not near impossible to flip and if you did you probably spent more time and used up more space in the meantime than it was worth!
    Love your straight forward but still very gentle way of attacking this.
    I would be more like listen closely because im not repeating this, dont mess around being a hoarding fuck up.

      How strange! I would’ve expected it to be cheap steel

    Do you take your metal to Recon?

    • @thubprint
      @thubprint  3 года назад

      I do! Though I usually go to empire for my nonferrous when I have a whole truckload, but recon has great prices for nonferrous as well. They’re also the best place in town for cast aluminium, motors and compressors

    It sucks i can't turn in ac coils to a scrap yard. Have to have a ticket or have proof of evidence that its mine. I sell my ac coils to private sellers.

    its a pity u get such low prices for EVERYTHING. You pick up quite a lot of good stuff but get paid too little in return by the scrap yards. maybe phone around and try to negotiate better prices esp for the non ferrous stuff and when u get big loads of steel.

    • @thubprint
      @thubprint  3 года назад

      I’m starting to see that. A lot of folks have it worse than me, but I do see other people’s videos and they get paid a fair bit better for the same amount of work

      Oh, I might have spaced on the face shield with the reciprocating saw.. I am a big fan of PPE, though I am a bit lax with that tool. I think you’re right, never know what could happen
