Thank you so much Mark! I'm using a model I made, but has reeds and some parts from a Yamaha P37D, with an Ebony body. So you'll have a similar sound with one of the Pianicas. I like these reeds, as they give you a nice 'bounce' which helps with the lilt and rhythm. The Clavietta has a beautiful sound, but might be more suited to slow airs. Having said that, they're different instruments, the Clavietta, refined, thin, high pitched, like a piccolo accordion, and the standard melodica a bit rougher and louder, more of a concertina sound
I am trying to bring it to Arabic music but in Arabic we have to do something to make it half tone to play some Arabic scales... The Irish music look interesting nd so happy and energetic

Great, that you liked it! For the repeated notes, I do it by making the sounds 'te-ke-te' into the mouthpiece while blowing. Sometimes I get the same effect with fingers as well, but its easier with the mouth once you get used to it
@@MelodicaWorld Thanks for your advice! I also think that te-ke-te is much easier. But I thought it would be good to practice the key version also ;) Though, I must admit doing it with the keys is rather challenging, esp on the black keys, as their shortness requires more precision in movements.

Yes, I use circular breathing when I play this sort of music. Maybe I'll make a video about this, but in the meantime, there's lots of videos in youtube telling you how to do it. Damn! i literaly feel like my life is really going to hell! and its not the very first time i feel like this, but everytime i feel like crap, i've always had music, and in recent years, the melodica, which is of the few instruments that saved from the pawn store, since i'm going through some struggles in the economic (as well as mental) field, but i always try to spend every little free time that i have mixing my favorite songs and playing their melodies with my melodica, which i guess is the only thing that keeps me away from insanity ahahahaha also, i was actually crying towards the end of the song, i dont know why, perhaps because the sound was really beautiful, the melody was really full of hope, or just because i had the vague idea that, just maybe, if i keep with my music, i might as well awaken the same feelings of joy and happiness in the ones who listen to my music. Or perhaps im just way too hiigh ahhahah but anyways, im not gonna quit my music after all the things we've been through! It wont be easy, but it will make it worth it ahahhaaha

And... Do you have the backtrack somewhere in public access? :)
Great, that you liked it! For the repeated notes, I do it by making the sounds 'te-ke-te' into the mouthpiece while blowing. Sometimes I get the same effect with fingers as well, but its easier with the mouth once you get used to it
I don't have the backing track on its own
@@MelodicaWorld Thanks for your advice! I also think that te-ke-te is much easier. But I thought it would be good to practice the key version also ;) Though, I must admit doing it with the keys is rather challenging, esp on the black keys, as their shortness requires more precision in movements.
Beautiful story. If I understand it correctly, did you already have a piano training backgroubd befire taking up melodica?
Hey, thanks for watching. Yes, I already knew how to play piano
❤️
Did you just do a circular breathing? you were playing so long without stopping.. would you make a video on how to do it? Thank you so much.. great melodica playing thou!!
Yes, I use circular breathing when I play this sort of music. Maybe I'll make a video about this, but in the meantime, there's lots of videos in youtube telling you how to do it. This is how I learnt. It takes a long time, but it's not difficult. You just have to practice every day for 10 minutes, as it becomes more and more natural. Worth starting now!
I need a tutorial on that ornamentation, especially on that little 'stuttery' sound you make. It sounds great.
Hey, that’s called a ‘triplet’, my last video shows you how to do it!
@@MelodicaWorld thanks 😁. I've checked the video out and started practicing the consonants. It still sounds really choppy when I do it, hope I can get my triplets to sound as nice as yours someday.
@@lunamooncat7926 You should've heard mine when I started! Just practice a bit every day, and it gets better and easier, until you don't even know you're doing it!
Is there also a backing track available for the three irish tunes at the end?
No backing track, sorry
Hey man, do you do private classes? I just brought one. Cheers
Hey, congrats! Unfortunately I don’t do private lessons. Though I have a whole series on RUclips for beginners
Just curious: Why the melodica instead of the piano accordion? I have seen at least one in the background of one of your videos.
I prefer the expression and portability of the melodica, but it’s a question I’ve asked myself before :-)
Did you visit my hometown Dehradun or Rishikesh in Uttrakhand ,India ?
Hey! I didn't visit Dehradun, but I must have passed very close by. It's very beautiful around there :-)
HELP plesase, where I can buy the same melodica? what is the brand?
It’s one I made, using Yamaha reeds, so you’ll get a similar sound from a Yamaha Pianica
🎹❤️🕉️

Cool!
What make is this please
It’s a homemade instrument made with ebony wood
Damn! i literaly feel like my life is really going to hell! and its not the very first time i feel like this, but everytime i feel like crap, i've always had music, and in recent years, the melodica, which is of the few instruments that saved from the pawn store, since i'm going through some struggles in the economic (as well as mental) field, but i always try to spend every little free time that i have mixing my favorite songs and playing their melodies with my melodica, which i guess is the only thing that keeps me away from insanity ahahahaha
also, i was actually crying towards the end of the song, i dont know why, perhaps because the sound was really beautiful, the melody was really full of hope, or just because i had the vague idea that, just maybe, if i keep with my music, i might as well awaken the same feelings of joy and happiness in the ones who listen to my music. Or perhaps im just way too hiigh ahhahah but anyways, im not gonna quit my music after all the things we've been through! It wont be easy, but it will make it worth it ahahhaaha
Thanks for your lovely message, so nice to hear how the melodicas helping you through your struggles. Keep playing 😌
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇺🇾
Thanks :-)

...breathe man! Seriously, how did you go so long without really any pauses?
