Wayne was the definition of badass metal. From his voice, to the way he sang, to his hair and beard, to the music he performed. Just pure badass metal.
Can't forget how he effortlessly played guitar whilst being a badass

Never heard him use his regular voice at a show, that’s crazy.
Seen them twice in a Abilene tx, never gonna be a band like static x. Didn't matter how many people, they gave 100 percent.
Just discovered these dudes. Remember the name just never heard them. Better late than never. This time is one of my favorites.

Really? I think Ken's a solid drummer for sure...but I think Nick had a bit more technical ability and added a little extra to statics sound.

What effect was being used for the guitar solo? I've heard Rammstein use a similar effect, as well as John 5 (it's SO badass!).
I have never been able to find it in stomp boxes or digital pedals... Also what he was playing... That's one of the things that got me hooked to Static-X as a young guitar player, bc the solos were beyond any label! As in, it's not like a bluesy pentatonic scale, it doesn't sound like a classical / neoclassical scale, it's not really like a technical death metal style.. you just played whatever you wanted to play, like literally would just create his own "scales" That worked so great!
Whammy pedal. It raises a played note up an octave when the pedal is pressed all the way down. Most decent digital pedals should have it.

@ I've of course had guitars with whammy bars, but none of them could create those super high pitched, almost ... Idk, electronic/synth/keyboard-like sounds. Or even the dive bomb sound, I couldn't ever figure out how to get those sounds, but I can get them from the whammy pedal now.
@@billbrasky7540 You are very welcome. Whammy bar has physical limitations that whammy pedal obviously doesn't, and that "fakeness" of the note going so high so quickly is what makes it so interesting. Tom Morrelo from RATM used it a lot for solos.

LOL.......liar, liar pants on fire.....I set up mic's and the stage for his concert here in Boise ID...I know from personal experience he uses a tuned down mic. We had to change it in-between sets for Jonathan Davis. But if it makes you feel special to claim that...go ahead...no skin off my ass.
