This band is the sh!t ! I saw the Melvins(who totally kick ass) with Nirvana and the Breeders 2 months before Cobain died. I've seen a lot of live shows and I can tell you Ministry is easily one of the best, tighest bands ever.

Saw them at the Big Day Out in 1995. I remember Uncle Al throwing out water bottles like grenades. They were LOUD, felt the music, absolutely the way to listen to them. An out of body experience. Scarecrow still the big daddy of all of their songs. It is their classic. That Paul Barker bass just drives the whole thing along.
Same when Ministry performed outdoors as the prime band in the 1992 Lollapalooza event, Phoenix, AZ, which I did attend. Hands down the most intense live performance I had seen to that time, and quite frankly, this carries today. Nothing like it!
This is great music and real stage entertainment , I saw them play at the Big Day Out in Adelaide Aust. in 1994 . I've watched this over and again and enjoy it every time .

Saw Ministry at Lollapalooza in ‘92. It was the loudest thing I’d ever heard in my life. The Chili Peppers came on immediately after them and I swear I couldn’t hear their first two songs because my ears were gone. Years later I saw Gojira and Lamb of God open for Metallica and they both topped Ministry. Insane volume!
I saw that show at Great Woods in Mansfield, MA. The people out back tore the wooden fence down and built bonfires while the rest of the lawn citizens tore up all the sod and had a dirtbomb fight during Ministry's set. It got bad enough that Ministry actually had to stop playing and Uncle Al had to ask people to give it a rest.
I think I caught the following years show and bumming out at all the security there because of the previous years fun and games. The fences got torn down again anyways

Paul and his wide-bodies is a sight and sound to behold. Shame he and Al had to split. The Fix documentary explains a lot. Paul was obviously unhappy on tour and Al was a walking disaster area. Yet the tunes survive and sound just as great today.
I only saw ministry once in 2002. It was their return to Pittsburgh area after being banned after Lolla in 1993. This is a excellent performance from an album that for me redefined industrial metal.
Ministry really are one of a kind. not talking about industrial metal per se, thought they are one of the pioneers of that , just the madness that goes with it makes them very different altogether.

During the song Reload, only Uncle Al can make a mandolin look and sound cool in an industrial metal setting.
