    "Because of those initials, i have to say All Star Squadron" 😂 I see what you did there 😅

      Seriously, it is something I never even noticed until we got so initial heavy these days ;-)

    I noticed the white eyes too & I get that it’s not quite accurate but I think it does look cool lol
    The ridges on the costume are strange though but it’s not enough to stop me from getting this one
    Good video though! 👍

    They really need fully blank bodies, even here would’ve preferred if they just made the silver stripes thicker to at least match the shape of the ridged sculpt, it just looks so cheap when sculpt and paint don’t match

      Yep. Even just doing that would have made it look not so weird. Wonder how hard that would be to fix myself?

    Prefer the Mattel Steel over this uninspired McFarlane Release.

      I REALLY wish Mattel gave us more of the Squadron and finished the JSA that they'd started!

    O think Toddy is making huge mistakes in choices. The classic green lantern should have been out long before there were multiple laughing batmen. Like with darkseid, it's too big. His fanaticism of the character wins out because the eccentricity of the look of some of the releases is too inconsistent 😂❤

    • @LylesFigureFiles
      @LylesFigureFiles  7 дней назад

      Darkseid's scale seems to depend on who is drawing him so I won't fault Todd for a larger Darkseid. Mattel made two different sizes for their takes on him.

    Is a Green Lantern figure necessary? We know that's not a serious question for "Sir Green Lantern Ric Kage." 🙎🏽‍♂️ Next,

    Ha. Good wrestling reference. They really dropped the ball on this.
    I really like the question though

    Hello Lyle! I am a dedicated fan of the Mattel DC Universe Classics line, and now starting the McFarlane line starting with the Adam West & Christopher Reeve (I hope BURT wARD & Lynda Carter is up soon!). I watched this vid and I'm a golden ager fan, I bought the Max (Quicksilver from National Comics, Quality Publications) Mercury and pl,an to keep the upper torso to add to Mattel legs so he'll fit in with my Quality Group (Freedom Fighters with Uncle Sam, Phantom Lady, Doll Man, Midnight, Wildfire, and Plastic Man). I didn't like the tassel chain that holds Alan Scott's cape and Jay Garrick's lightning bolt is too wide. Jay's face was not that great either. The Rival would of been okay but...🤔 that Shining Knight was a let down to me too! 🤥I wish Mattel or someone would continue the old line, finish the JSA, Freedom Fighters, start the All-Star Squadron, etc.! Enjoy your vids, take care!

      I'd love to see Burt Ward and Lynda Carter from McF. I need to find Max Mercury! Thanks so much for the kind words, Larry.

    Henry Haywood Jr (Captain Steel) is often shown with white eyes, so this "Commander Steel" is probably another weird McFarlane amalgamation.

      That's such a weird mash up when everything else costume wise is right. That could have been our platinum edition with the hair showing.

    Not invested in the line (or character) but fun learning about more comic book lore that I'm unfamiliar with. From an "outsider's" view, the figure looks pretty good, but obviously I have no frame of reference to compare him to.
    This made me realize that we do seem to get a lot of costume design mixups with super hero action figures in this price range (sub $50). Is this a cost thing or am I trippin'? I don't seem to recall as many costume screwups with super hero action figures from companies like Bandai, Mafex, Mezco and such, but maybe they do and I just didn't realize. I have to admit that unless I'm fully invested in a character, I tend to gloss over the details sometimes.

    It's like they purposely screwed this one up. So many plain bucks they could've used for Commander Steel. And that Parallax is an easy pass for me.

    • @LylesFigureFiles
      @LylesFigureFiles  11 дней назад

      Yeah, I cannot figure out why they went with this mold for him!

  • @jontuell5338
    @jontuell5338 12 дней назад

    I actually dig that Steel. I'm not familiar enough w/ him to care about those small details; which is a blessing! Lord knows they screw enough figures up w/ tiny missed details or just flatout McFarlanizing stuff. It's very Mezcoish

    • @LylesFigureFiles
      @LylesFigureFiles  7 дней назад

      Mezco and their random design changes were so frustrating for me for years!

    Another over priced figure from Clod McFarlane. His usual lazy, cheating, swindling work on full display for Steel (Sinestro looks way better), just take any other figure (in this case the Speeding Bullets buck) and slap that paint on, and viola. This guy is worth over $300 million and yet he's still out here, cheating the fans. The sad thing is that he knows there are enough suckers out there, who will buy it anyway. He's laughing at you, all the way to the bank.

    So... We just go act like Uncle Todd didn't make a gain by doing a decent figure of (Rhymes with Ric Kage)Vic Sage bka The Question? I know. Mattel covered him, but this is a worthy double-dip if there ever was! Beetle and Booster are a pass for me. DCUC did it best. I just sit back waiting for the absentee characters from Todd.
    Vic is a buy just as much as any Diana and Lantern figure. On the fence with this Commander Steel. Lady Knight is a buy for being on Diana's base body. However, I await the arrival of Sir Justin and his jlu Ace homey Vigilante (voiced by Nathan Fillion I might add.)🙎🏽‍♂️

      @@LylesFigureFiles I've seen STEEL in Tgt, right when the Red shirts were stocking and I saw BOTH variants. They look good. I took a pass as I'm trying not to buy too many superfluous figures. I've got my eye on the Mafex STEEL.

    Actually I'm beyond thrilled Todd is starting to use that Speeding Bullets bodymold more often. I think it's one of McFarlane's top 5 bucks ever - great proportions, amazing articulation, I frankly don't even care about the ribbed pattern.

    • @LylesFigureFiles
      @LylesFigureFiles  7 дней назад

      I wish he could use that mold without the ribbed pattern as it really does mess up the aesthetics on figures that shouldn't have it.
