First played this on the first day in my schools bigband on the alto and at that time that score seemed impossible to me. It then grew on me insanely quickly and it was the first time i really practiced for something because of true passion for the music. It became my favourite score in all my time of playing and now after begging my band teacher for years, we are finally playing it again. Now i've switched to the tenor and it is the biggest honor for me to play the 32 bar solo in this song. It is my grand goodbye to the band that i've loved and looked up to my entire youth and it's safe to say that no song has ever had as much of an impact on me as a musician as "Sabor de Cuba".
Im a trombone and Im soloing apart from the tenor also soloing and we’re taking this 110 cut time and I can say this is the most fun pieces we’ve played (I’m 8th grade btw)
It’s not even that fast. If you want fast look at the swing section of Buddy Rich's Channel One Suite from the Pacific Jazz Years album. It's like over 260 bpm
ME TOO BUT I FIGURED IT OUT Just focus on the D, G, and B strings and it'll figure itself out, the A's, B's and E's are all flat unless stated otherwise
Flash Gaming frick your life I'm a savage son!!! and I did with three college students and my teacher git and shared with the college student moron and yea I'm roastin git
I never get tired of the piano part in this song
Grant Moye it’s so fucking good
Grant Moye me neither
I had the privilege of playing it in a concert and I had the greatest time
I can tell you it took a long time to learn
@@cameronmalkoske8461 FUCKING NICE!!!

Surprisingly easy to learn. Great trombone part!

as a bass player, the bass part never gets boring aswell as the piano too.
I loved this so much freshman year that years later I still love it
Ugh I’m gonna love playin that tenor solo
Sameeee I have it this year
This is a really fun one. I’m playing it in our jazz band
We played this in my jazz band last year. Favorite song I’ve ever played. Literally love it
Easily one of my favorite jazz songs I have played
goosebumps every time
This song is so easy on Altosaxophone i`ve learned this song first since I came in the Big Band of our school
That switch up at the start was actually crazy MY GOD
I wanna play this at 117 bpm cut time... like really bad though. Basically if you put the recording at 1.25x speed.
That moment when you're the only trumpet player besides the band teacher and he gives you 4th trumpet.
Oof
Wait actually what grade are you
Hmu i can help you im playing 1st rn im not the best but i can help im in 8th

There's oboe in a jazz band? Sounds interesting
Hold up- oboe in jazz? I must speak to my band teacher
First of all oboe? Second of all, you have a jazz group specifically for Latin?
@@SaxandRelax haha that was four years ago back in high school! 😂 this was before I learned alto sax 🎷 it was more fun once I was first alto lol

Composers should take advantage of the Bass Trombone's pedal tones more often.

I played drumset on that tune not so long ago, it was definitely the highlight of the show.
This song is slow compared to some of my band songs, I play trumpet and it’s so hard to keep up
I play tenor too and it’s too slow for me so I’d say you need to get good
@@josiahrivera2306 Damn.
wtf its so good
man I'm struggling as the guitarist. No one made tutorials and there's not even tabs. I am panicking lol

As a Vibraphone who usually just gets piano sheet music to play, you can imagine my disappointment when I don't get the piano solo here.
