Dude. Can I just say this is absolutely fantastic on all levels. Not just the amazing end result but the care you've taken into explaining the process, the logic behind making certain paint/material choices as well as well as some of the more experimental techniques. I have subscribed and look forward to more content. Thanks again.
Really brilliant video, my brother! Love the Grim Dark treatment of this Fenrisian badass, but I'm truly blown away by the face, hair, and glowing runes! You've got some damn fine airbrush control! I'm truly jealous of your skills as always! 😁 Keep up the badass work, my brother! ~ Wolfbrother Methos
Baldermort getting some love in the intro! Nice touch. 🍻 And a great video sir. Love the look you gave it. Perfect for what a space wolf should really like.
Oh Baldemort is one of my absolute favourite channels! A go-to for watching whilst painting or editing! Thanks for the kind words, I always feel like the cartoony look just doesn't look right for the Space Wolves!
@@SprayBlackStudios Yea, I’m actually starting Wolves myself. I am absolutely going to be using their 30k color scheme. As you say, the 40k color is just too cartoony. I’m also going to add in a few of the old Consul-Opsequiari. To really give them that old school rock and roll feel.
If only I were good enough to make use of these techniques, I'll definitely come back to this later when I've gotten better and have a larger collection of paints.
Sick as always mate! Have to agree with you on the Necro Gold, I'm currently working on a Black Legion raptor and it's perfect for the trim. All of the Scale 75 metallics are a joy to use with a brush compared to Citadel
Thankyou! Yeah the scale 75 metallics are so much nicer to use than the GW ones. I still prefer the Vallejo Metal color range for Silvers but these scalecolour golds are stunning!
@@SprayBlackStudios I've not tried the Metal Color range yet, I think my wife would have a fit if I bought anymore paint 😅 I'm going to try out an urban rubble base using your grimdark base pigment tutorial too. Such a great channel mate!
@@SprayBlackStudios The choice and modification process. If you mean a specific project, no. I'm just fascinated by the part selection and customizing process. I started I. ROGUE TRADER and was originally a military modeler so tweeking stuff is in my blood. Lol
Absolutely beautiful! Did you paint the model in one night or was it over a couple of days? Specifically regarding to the AK special effects then wiping it off
Thankyou! It was done over the span of a couple of days, most of the AK stuff was given about 20/30 minutes to dry before wiped off etc but as I was filming it around my full time job it was done in a couple of evenings 👍
I love your tutorials and really liked this one! Do you think it’s possible to recreate the finished model without a airbrush? Can I use the worm effects and then paint over them with a normal brush? I don’t own a airbrush and funds are rather tight, I wouldn’t even know we’re to learn airbrushing
Hey! I will be honest I've actually never brush painted over the worn effects but you definitely should be able to. Just make sure the worn effects is dry and the paint you are using isn't too watery! I may have to test this myself though!
Absolutely love this paint scheme and Im using it to for my current Space wolves project. Quick question - did you seal the enamels in after reductive painting before doing metalics or just leave them to dry as is?
Thankyou! As this was done for a tutorial I didn't seal the enamels in and rather just allowed them a few hours to dry. This is only because I am on quite a time crunch to get it ready in time to edit and release! You can apply the metallics straight on top of the enamels without issue but if I was doing it away from the channel I'd likely do a thin coat of Matte varnish over the top just to add a little more protection.
@@SprayBlackStudios There's no traitors here, come visit the rock and we'll prove it, we've even prepared the special 'guest' room for you. When the glorious Lion wakes up he'll finally take his rightful place in charge and put brother yiffs-a-lot and poncy brother smurf back in their place. Even if it means he has to punch out that ridiculous overbearing furry again to prove a point... Errr, I mean... Please do first and best legion next? 🥰😊
I've only used homemade alternatives a few times (I'm fairly lazy! 😂) but to be honest if you follow the tutorials by Geek gaming scenics for making them I've found them to be just as effective!
Ok then guys..... Now I have done the Space Wolves which Chapter (Or maybe Legion.....) is going to be next?
Well you did a VIBRANT Salamander, so do a GRIMDARK Salamander!
@@aehink143 This is a very good call, will have to find some nice Salamander bits!
how about a grimdark imperial fist not many people seem to do them and it will be interesting to see your version of one
I may already have an imperial fist model ready for some paint...
I'd love to see a Grimdark noise marine of the Emperor's Children if you haven't done a son of Fulgrim already!

Thanks Sam! I do try and make it as easy to follow as I can, even when using some of the more complicated techniques. Welcome to the channel! 👍
I love that paint job! It would be cool to see something painted with a VERY chipped paint style
Thanks bud! 👍 I have got a few ideas for some really heavy weathering. Just gotta find the right model.

Awsome video and an extra thumbs up for having Baldermort in background at the start on the screen

Grim dark .. grey knights 🙏🏼
Also amazing job on the wolf .. turned out perfect

I feel great about the fact there are more videos of painting grimdark space wolves.

Are you able to do this with just brushes or is an airbrush required?
