I love how many times he said "My Friend". It makes it feel personal.
It's like he talks directly at us!
Twin?
“Copy your favorite artist” maybe I’ll draw some of your work today.
Scott, i just wanna say - i wish i had found you and your art sooner. When i was in art college, i lost my passion, my drive and what made me inspired. i started making art that my professor wanted to see, sure i got a decent grade but i wasn't happy.
it wasn't until i was nearly graduating that a professor looked at my sketchbook and asked why i never brought it to my final work, i said "no one wanted to see it" - and all he simply said was "well i do. show me what you got."
so i did, and it was the most freeing semester i could have.
your words brought me back to that moment, thank you.
I love that professor, though.
Just remember... it's NEVER too late to fall in love with art again.
No matter the thing, there is someone out there who will love as much, if not more, than you. So glad the professor saw your sketch book!
Go pick up those sketchbooks again and make art, cause' I genuinely would love to see it!!
Bless you~ 💗✨
Selling AI art *does* make someone an artist; a con-artist
Haha, good joke
Good one
Ayyyy (☞ ᐛ )☞
I almost was gonna write a whole paragraph right there
They had us in the first half not gonna lie
Inspiration really does come from everywhere. Been in a dryspell lately, and a new b-grade sketchbook a friend got me has served as a new spark. Between its size and small number of pages, it feels easier to play around and be more risky, and it's made it fun again!
As for AI, the whole point of art IS the human experience. Removing that removes what makes art, art, no matter how good it is. So seeing artists come together over and over and fight for that humanity is incredible
I'm slowly learning to draw people by copying photos of my favourite characters and actors. Learning how to draw objects by scrolling through photos and picking one that catches my eye. You're probably the first person who showed me it's actually okay to copy and not always make completely "original" work, and I've got to thank you for that, because that's the reason I'm learning.
This is so true, don't be afraid to take inspiration or steal !
I'm working on a music that's basically my take on Billie Eilish's "No Time To Die" and I'm learning a lot by doing it, because I know how and why I "copy" aspects of the song
You always make me smile 😊
Love the teal-colored hair ❤
This man just taught us all an important life lesson.
Scott your literally one of my biggest inspirations I am a young artist that loves your videos ❤❤❤
Scott: don't feed that beast
This really inspired me to go draw something! I love these longer videos it helps me concentrate when I'm drawing. Thank you Scott!
Huh really went full circle
@@SALTED_CH0C0LATE I guess so
I love this drawing! It’s beautiful and I love the story behind it. You took your references and made it completely your own.
Just have to say, I love this format of video so much more than the shorts, no matter what the algorithm wants!
Gosh, I just love all the big, poofy hair you draw. You're right; hair is really fun to draw, and seeing you do it so often makes it hard not to make it long and focal too
I love how scott is going through an experimental!!! thought it kinda makes me jealous since sometimes it feels like this guy is good at everything 😅
Tbh I’m really glad you said this Scott, it might be just what I needed to hear today to get me drawing again. I’ve been in a bit of an artistic slump recently(I always am in the spring :/) and this inspired me to draw! Thank you.
I find Ai can be helpful for art block or the inability to find the right reference. I don’t use a fancy ai just any free one and use it to give me an idea for a small detail like outfit style or color pallet, it can be great for warm up drawings before you do a deep dive on the aspect of art you want to figure out, like shadows or anatomy. At least that’s how I view it
Proof that you can find inspiration in anything. I once got a colorful roll of duck tape and the colors and pattern looked so interesting my brain came up with an entire character in a few moments based entirely on them having skin like the tape design, and I later drew them and it’s still one of my favorite character designs
I loved this painting, the anime style character paired with the background has a contrast to it, but it looks so good together
I have to say, you make me want to sketch again. That isn't something I have done in almost 20 years.
This is so true. I started getting attracted towards watercolour by watching you and I even recreated some of your drawings ( you can check it on my channel) I didn't know anything about cold press or hot press I just kept on doing paintings and ended up filling a whole sketchbook of watercolour paintings .After that I tried cold press paper and that was life changing, painting with watercolour has never been so easy since then.I am a big fan now I will always support you and your art . You are a big inspiration ✨️
I agree, just have fun!
I’m so happy to see you posting longer videos I get to watch more of your stuff for longer I love it!
Stealing like an artist from ai art is the perfect uno reverse card 😂
thank you for your words mr scott
I love how you took the ai image and ran with it and made it your own! Its beautiful
I love your work and your videos Scott, i was about to drop art because i didn't did a single good draw in months but you are my insipration to keep going! Ty scott
Please stick with it, my friend.
LETS GOOOO LONG FROM SCOTT VIDEO!! thank you for being an amazing inspiration!!
Your take on ai is very agreeable to me, I am much more interested in how people interpret the world than an ai
This us why I love your videos they are always very up building!
You are so inspirational, makes me wanna make something and put it on my art wall, make sure to drink some water tonight stay hydrated.
Scott I've said this before in another video, but I'll say this again, I am SO HAPPY that you are making long form content!!!!! It is inspiring me to make SO MUCH good art!! Thank you!!
My friend does art commissions and someone wanted a piece and once she sent them the sketch they just put it into an AI generator and didn’t message her again! It’s terrible what people do
Ugh
Even finding sometjing you hate. Find art you see as bad, and make it what you think it should have been. Find something you think looks silly, and make it what you think eould be cool. Find what makes you feel, amd make it in the way YOU want it to be.
love your videos!! always enjoyable, entertaining, and soothing
"Don't go feeding that beast!" 👍🏽
I definitely would like to buy a poster with this art!
wow that's such a good message scott, i'm so glad someone in the art community finally spoke about that, as long as you're making art and enjoying yourself it's okay😊 (and not stealing in a bad way only good way)
Thank you Scott! I have two pages of my sketchbook left (I’m trying to finish by the end of the month) and I am in a massive art slump. This video inspired me a lot, and I am going to try to finish one up now ❤
WE ASK YOU DELIVER! I love these longer videos keep up the good work!
Ai art wont be art, but we can use AI for insparation, we cant replace any artist with AI. The drawing you made is just so beutifull! Your my inspiration ✨️ ❤️
I love your videos Scott!!!
After school i go onto youtube and watch you shorts/videos. I know you most likely will never see this comment, but thanks for being online, you are such a huge inspiration to me! Im really bad at hair and love the flowyness you put into it. I really apperciate you being a good recource i can use to help me inprove! (I hope that doesn't sound selfish or anything!) Anyways have a good day and thanks for, well, being here!
This makes me so happy. ♥ I hope you have a good day as well.
Your art inspires me a lot, I remember watching you when I was like young, and still do now, and then it inspired me a lot
Reminds me of Gretlusky's art
I actually enjoy the longer videos a lot!
I’m so thankful we have you in the art community!!!!🥰❤️
😊😊
Love your art! :)
This is so beautiful! thank you Scott!
It's crazyhow you brought the subject in the A.I. generared image to life. Looking at the reference, there is a lot missing it so flat.
❤❤❤
No idea is completely original. It is impossible to think of something that has absolutely no influences from something else we’ve seen/heard/read, etc. it’s impossible! All new creations HAVE to draw from other creations…it’s how the brain and our world works! ❤ this painting!
Can you make art about the stories they describe in the Bible
Like Moses split the red sea
I could, but those have been done so many times and don't interest me, really.
I started using the bing ai image generator as a kind of a concept tool. I type my prompt and if i like what was generated ill use it as a basis for a marker drawing.
Funny enough during the live I was copying what you were doing and you started talking about this lol
I find it so strange the way Scott says Alphonse Mucha.
Alphonse is well pronounced but in french, the "ch" in Mucha is pronounced like in parachute or moustache or machine.
Love you Scott! So happy for you and Donna.
STEALING BACK FROM AI AAHAHAHA SCOTT YOU'RE THE BEST
What a beautiful video and drawing, just yesterday I saw an IA generator videos with "improvements", and when I see that I feel kind of sad... BUT your video just made me smile. Thank you for sharing your art with us, i feel i have learned a lot with your content 😀☺️
pd: I'm currently writing my thesis about about drawings in architecture and I can't wait to finish it and go back to my sketchbook again 😩😩😩 i have to week to finish!!! and I feel so much pressure haha!
Scott your amazing to be honest I your like a teacher to my for art and being a better person thank you for everything ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊 I'm very grateful to you ❤❤❤😊 as for you I'm finally at 60 subs
~Aditi ❤
I love your opinions and suggestions on making art, especially since you find inspiration in the art of comics. I’ve been reading the comics-in newspapers and comic books-since I was a kid and at 79, as a retired Spanish teacher, I’m still doing it. Thanks for your support even though I know you didn’t intentionally send it to me. Your philosophy reaches out.
I love the longer videos! It really makes your personality shine through.
How do your videos keep getting better and better???☺☺☺
Hi Scott , sorry I missed the live😢 , otherwise I was playing the harp, I love the result of your draw❤
The Ai image just feels so lifeless and creepy to look at but your drawing actually gives the character soul!
Mr. Scott, can you please do a video on everything you know about inks and inking? Thank you! :)
I think it’s really important to understands what has influenced you as an artist.
Love watching your videos, it inspires me so much, and I like to whatch videos wheilst doing art myself. I love the backround to this piece, and I think that's what has just inspired me, for a new piece, and I think it will be something to fo with nature ❤ I think that I will start now (once i finish writing this comment😂) Thank you for the video ❤❤❤
I love your thirst for curiosity. Can you draw my profile pic just for fun??
Hi Mr, Saava. I think this is your best video! I’m struggling to find hair to pull from when I draw my impression is that you add strands and a base to different locks to create that affect. Is this correct? (I like the way you drew it in this one)
I love this sketch Scott ❤ love the anime kind of style and especially the background colours that is like old paperly feel, it looks soo good✨
Also i love these 3-6 min videos they are so inspiring, very helpful 👍🏻
dont mind me adding poppycock into my everyday language
I love that stencil you used It looks like something amazing to animate
What you did is a proof that a human art is better then any ai "art" you are amazing❤
Just saying that the sketch was beautiful ❤❤
Who knew AI could be used as reference (not me.)
Where did you get all your wonderful stencils.
Michaels or Joanne Fabrics
“No…no… don’t go feeding the beast!”
It’s wonderful to see this sped up, it’s brings back all the moments in the live sessions. I have a big heavy book from the library with art by Henk Helmantel, a local artist. He made realistic art, not my style but there are elements I will use. Like a colour palette or a composition,or the way he paints churches. Top of my list are Laurence Tadema, Frans Bauer and Jim Henson/Brian Froud to name a few classics. But also many current illustrators found through social media. Hope to see you in the next livestream my friends..
SCOTT DRAWING SEMI-REALISM?

This message and this painting are both beautiful ❤️✨.
First
Since you mentioned that you think it shows intelligence when you cite your influences...I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say that I'm pretty sure that that AI Generated Image is based on the style of Loish, aka Lois van Baarle. 🤔
The reason I noticed the similarities is because their style actually influenced my own, and especially my use of color. ☺️💖
I actually think that you would absolutely love their work and their artistic evolution, use of warmth and lighting, and their expressive characters. 😁 ❤️
I was thinking the same thing.
Keep spreading the message!
I love this style ❤
Hey Scott. How are you? I wanted to tell you that last night, for the very first time, I mustered enough courage to paint my first portrait, I got inspired on some things you do and say, and I think that for a beginner, it was a fine water color portrait. Anyway, I was wondering if you would like to see it. And if so, how can I show it to you?
i’m a young artist and you literally inspire me and help me not give up thank you for your videos scott ❤❤❤
I loved the stencils you used in the background.
Scott, what if art brings me hard pain and absolutely NOTHING can inspire me and I quit drawing?
Then art isn't for you. Not drawing anyways. Find what DOESN'T bring you pain and pursue that.
@@ssavaart Thank you
If I send good vibes through the phone will it make it all the way down the hobbit hole
I just got 'em. Thanks
Your drawings are so beautiful!!!

❤Love love love... and thanks for the video... this is 1 of my fav of your art... the background is fun and the colours fantastical.
The whole time you go to the Bambang characters start with chapter 1, chapter 2, chapter 3, chapter 4, chapter 5, chapter 6 love chapter 5 is coming next, and chapter 6 come now, chapter 5 side, chapter 6, and then chapter 5
I truly appreciate your message, Scott. It’s so refreshing to watch videos by an artist who is genuinely invested in encouraging everyone to express themselves through making art.
It’s so easy to convince oneself that artistic expression is out of their reach or to get so bogged down by techniques that you never even start your journey. I agree that copying art is a necessary and accessible way to build your skills and slowly but surely develop your own style. I’m really grateful that you shared this video today. I needed to hear this.
As you’ve said, the world needs people to make their artwork. I’d like to add that it also needs more people like you.✨
I actually got inspired from the very painting in this video! Thanks! ❤
I freaking love the new thumbnail style. Very ex Disney animator
How do you dispose paint water? I use a dip pen and I get rid of the left over ink on my nib in water and I don’t think I should just pour it down the sink. And I also have acrylic and watercolors so it would be nice to know where to dispose it.
I don't think the amount of ink in the water will hurt anything. I usually toss it out the Hobbit Hole doorway (into the yard).
@@ssavaartAppreciate it!
Aargh, man! That came out so well! I'm honestly a bit saddened this isn't your style, I'd love to see more of it! Perhaps I'll learn and make more of it myself. Besides, just looking at your regular art is beauty enough!
Where was I? Right, the art. It looks great, and this video was wonderful. I appreciated all of your talking points about inspiration and citing sources and AI. Might go refresh myself on the current discussions on such topics. Re-binging Hbomberguy's always fun.
Alright, thats about about all i wanted to say. Have a lovely day, Scott!
