The battle of the milli village was fought on 13/06/1825. It took place in the homonymous village of Argolis, which is located 10 km south of Argos.
The time period it took place in was one where the Greeks' revolution against the Ottoman Empire was beginning to falter due to both the civil wars and the alliance of the Ottomans with the Egyptians under Pasha Muhammad Ali and his son Ibraim.
Ibrahim Pasha captured Tripolitsa after the defeat of the Greeks in the battle of the seesaw on 07/06/1825 and then moved towards Nafplio.
The revolutionary government decided to fortify the mills in order to intercept its advance. In the marshy lands that existed in the area of Lake Lerni, important elements were offered for defense. It was also that milli village there were stocks of grain for the supply of the troops, and from there the nauplius would be given water in case of need.
Makrygiannis was the first to arrive in the area, who began the fortification in a coastal position. A couple of days later, reinforcements arrived with Hatzimichalis, Dimitrios Ypsilantis, Konstantinos Mavromichalis and others of them. Dimitrios Ypsilantis was appointed as the leader and Mavromichalis as the deputy leader.
The positions taken by the opponents from the Greeks are of interest. Makrygiannis occupied the center with the Perivoli and the Towers he had created when he arrived in the area with his men. Ypsilantis took over a small mill in the west, while the hatzimihalis and Mavromichalis took over the path to the kiveri in the south. On the other side, Ibrahim settled in the Abandoned Castle on the Pontino hill.
The painting by the Panagiotis Zografos about the battle of Milli village from the illustration of the memoirs of Makrigiannis is typical.
The English and French with the flagships of the English and French fleets were anchored in the sea area between Milli village and Nafplio. The authority for him was Hamilton and the shows respectively, who were watching the events. Derigny pointed out to the Greeks the weakness of their positions in order to receive the following answer from Makrygiannis. Our positions are weak and we, however, are strong where God protects us and we will show our luck in these positions. The thin ones. He also rejected his proposal, not throwing to the rescue of his comrades in the boats of the French flagship, saying, here we have come to win or die.
This important battle ended with the victory of the Greeks and the withdrawal of the Egyptians to Kefalari and Argos, which they plundered together with the surrounding villages. The losses between the 2 sides were 50 dead and 50 wounded for the Egyptians, while for the Greeks only 4 dead and 4 or 5 wounded.
Makrygiannis was among the injured, but he hid his injury so as not to affect his fellow soldiers and received first aid on the French flagship, where he was received with special honors.
How important the battle of Mill village was for the development of the Greek revolution can be seen from the memoirs of Makrygiannis himself, where he mentions that if the mills fell, the nauplius would also be lost and thus the revolution in the Peloponnese would die out.

Thank you very much !! You are right and I have thought about adding subtitles to future videos. However, the words heard in the video are exactly the same in English translation in the description.
