It's basically Bandai's version of an Armored Core mecha lol. I love this lil' guy. It's a blank canvas to make your dream mech in 1/144 scale. Very cool.
That what I thought at first when I bought this kit. I assumed it will be sharing a similar joints design as the 30MM mechs. Then I realized after building it, that a lot of the parts are incompatible for kitbash with other 30MM kits.
@@Unit_With_Legs different joints design between this and other 30MM mechs. A bit hard to describe without pictures so I'll try to do my best. So far by my own testing this is what I found out: This kit uses ball joints for hip connection, while standard 30MM kits uses peg. So you cant swap the legs. Knee connectors are of shorter length and compact design, so can't swap the thighs or calves with 30MM mechs kit. Waist to torso connectors design: This kit uses peg and ball joints while 30MM kits uses 2 ball joint polycaps on each end. So in order to use this kit torso, you have to remove the "stomach" part, remove one ball joint on the upper part, and use standard 30MM kit waist part. Arms design: you can't mix parts between this and standard 30MM kit due to different shoulder joint design, and different elbow joint design. The feet is compatible with all standard 30MM mech kit, has same clio joint design. All "holes" or hardpoints on this kit is same size 30MM mechs hardpoints. Edit: So far tested on standard 30MM mechs, including Forestieri for its "almost similar" small size. Have not tested on any other 30MM EAV type mechs
It's almost exactly in scale with the 1/72 Front Mission kits too. I wish the line had more designs like this, too many of them feel like royalty-free versions of mobile suits.
I've got three of these. One I'm going to merge with a tank to make something that looks like an Armored Core tank AC. On a side note I created something cursed by attaching a 30 Minute Sisters head with the Sub Machine.
Love the little guy. I swapped on a gattling gun from my option weapons, and used just a grabber for his other hand(which can hold rectangular grips, like on guns), saving the two chain guns for a different build. The thing reminds me of an MT from Armored Core, which makes it perfect fodder for scenes.
I buit this guy! Its pretty fun..but small...would love this design to be bigger. I think it would look great with that olive drab Sunin paint color USAGS got in! Cant wait to buy some in person on Friday! My buddy Rob-Teh-Builder and I are taking a road trip on Friday to see USAGS! Hope we get to meet you!
I really wish there were more designs like this in general. I love mecha that look more like big war machines, and this is really my speed. I just wish it came with a little spotlight or a missile pod for the back. Are there any option sets to combine with this little guy that might scratch that itch? I'm having trouble coming across any, but I really wanna deck one of these guys out.
Check out the Optional Parts Set 2. Comes with both rocket pods and larger, boxier 3-bay missile launchers. Nothing comes to mind offhand for a spotlight except maybe some little pieces in Set 1. I'm sure there's a better option I'm not thinking of. There's an adapter to mate the standard weapon sight peg to the 3mm holes, and you might find success using one of those too. Lots of varied scopes and such that are vaguely the right shape to suggest a light.

I have the 30mm EAV kit. You can, but: 1.As long as the peg is sized at 30mm 2.The peg must be at the lower torso.Hg with pegs located at upper torso (like HG IBO kits) are not compatible It fits a lot of HG, but will look weird because there will be a a small gap between the upper and lower torso.

The buttstock of the chain rifles are actually little grabbers and can hold 3mm pegs so it can hold a lot of the 30mm line weapons
