Now that the 30MM line has matured and evolved further since this video, I find myself actually enjoying these kits more than regular Gunpla a lot of the times

If you're going to work with these, you should look into something like Kotobukiya's Mecha Supply 10 Detail Cover A. It's a set of plugs for unused 3mm ports. Filling all of those unused ports in gives the build a more finished look.
You can use putty and a bit of old runner as well.
I’m getting that Armored Core vibe from 2:25 that’s just cool AF
They're actually a lot of fun to put together. And once you get at least a couple 3 or 4 kids, the customized ability really gets ramped up and it becomes a lot of fun. The reason they're called 30 minute missions is because you can build them in 30 minutes or less.
For this 30 minutes mission, if you buy more you can customize anything. Combine with Kotobukiya Frame Arm Girls and Megami Device is possible too. 30MM is abit expensive than regular HG Gunpla, but worth the money if you know what monster machine you wanna create due to it's unlimited creativity. You can even create Armour Core like mech. Their Alto and Portanova can be combine mix and match to you desire. Honestly theres alot you can play with.
They're really not that expensive at all, most Gunpla are $15-$20
Yeap the 30min Mission was originally meant to not only be easily customised with their parts but also a lot of the Bandai HG line without much or any drilling etc
if the 30 minute mission came out 4-5 years ago, i'd like it as that was the moment i had all this crazy imaginations and time along with it.

There is a few. I look at 30mm like Legos. Super modular but I wish they offered plugs and caps. For the sockets and pegs that go unused and I think that's what tricked my mind early on to try different things. It looks in complete if they aren't used
I built a kit over the Christmas holidays and was surprised on how well the kit went together and it's a lot of fun to just mess with!
Some armored core vibes on that quad leg.
Those look legit. Def opens up for a creatively endless possible looks and additions you wouldnt think of with normal kits.

The 30 minuet mission kits are amazing! I have only built a few of them but I am already excited to start making my own custom pirate and renegade suits using these kits. You can make any kind of custom in so many different ways. Its just that flexible of a model kit line. Highly recommend!
That quadruped is clearly inspired by the Armored Core series. The torso is meant to look like the starter AC torso in the Nexus/Nine Breaker/Last Raven section. The weapons in the hands I believe are meant to look like the pulse pistols or possibly the hand howitzers from Silent Line. The cannon on the back is likely meant to be the grenade cannon the series is famous for including in all versions of the game. You REALLY need to try the line out as the 30MM kits are an absolute blast to work with. The only one I have are the white Alto and the Alto Flight Type. My brother has the red Portanova and that one has issues with the torso because the armor doesn't lock the joint in place so when you tilt it at all the entire uppre body can come loose. Good for parts though.

That T-Rex is amazing. I love how the finish came out with the paint over the metallic base coat. Definitely want to give that a try.
Imagine Gundam build fighters with this
Build fighter kits work with these and gundam origins kits. Majority of them use the 3mm pegs and holes. So you can kit bash very easily without doing much drilling or modifying.
As a pup I was part of the Lego club🤓 so this is right up my alley😌 must admit I have a bunch of the kits and add-ons but I haven't started🤔 because am stuck on to many idea's for these awesome kits!!😎👍👍
I now on play only 30mm Kit, they are your perect fiddle toy. you are given unlimited amount of customization. And best of all you don't need to feel afraid to do whatever you want with it. Gunpla are amazing, but this is the perfect entry kit or office fiddle kit for people who wanted something to fiddle with.

Theyre a very fun and easy easy way to bash and try stuff out. I Have some HGBF, HGBD., HGIBO and HG Revive parts on a few of mine, along with some option sets. Supposedly Bandai is gonna work with different mechanical designers for future waves, do give them each a distinct look and feel.

About the 30 minute Mission kits they are very very simple kits and very easy to build and you can say it's the Bandai ver of the frame arms from kotobuki, so it's very compatible with mostly all Bandai Kits HG and so.
you kidding me those 30 minute missions are solid kits i've built a few haha their fun when you want that classic cut and snap afternoon type deal, customize em and use em for experimenting techniques and shit like that so i don't muck up the ones i want to use the techniques on in the first place

Yes lots of great kits came out in 2019. I didnt sleep on 30mm bought me and Alto white, and went straight to kit bashing with custom parts from my blood orphans HG models i haven't touched, and some additional option parts from both blood orphans, and 30mm. NO REGARTS!
i finally gotten mine a few days ago and been having a blast coming up with ideas on how to kitbash with it. ^w^

best to start kitbashing with the 30 mm is the hg line of gundam ibo or the build series. like ill be using the hg barbatos lupus. all the connector points like the waist, the shoulders, and the hips are a perfect match. ^w^

I have at least one of every 30MM kit so far, Bandai does not release enough good Gunpla kits to spend my throwing around money and it's a waste for me to import only a few kits every month so I decided to just get all of them and see what I can create.

If anyone gets a 30-minute mission kit definitely get more than one.
I recommend getting all the standard kits like the portonova as well the portonova space type and alto flight type because in my opinion, these two kits have more parts than some of the other 30-minute mission kits as well some add on packs.
To be fair, any custom build kits will get you into them because they are so good and cool looking

@@AwesomeToysTV They were designed for the purpose of customizing, they were literally designed for things like this to be possible.
I'm hoping to use these to help introduce my young nephews into GunPla. My plan is to buy a few different kits and expansions, and they can build their own using their choice of color, style, weapons, and attachments! Then later their parents can buy more if they want more :-p
Unfortunately I probably have to wait a few years. My sister's kids are 5, 3-1/2, and 2 and it feels weird to sit down and help them build/customize models for one or two of them and not all three!

The size is slightly smaller than normal 1/144 gunpla kits, but this line is all about customization.

So far I've only got two. The yellow Portanova and the Essposito B
I put together one I got the Portanova it was actually pretty expensive in my area it is almost $18 for a $10 kit but I decided to give it a look and I won't do it again at that price but I have to say that it's a very very easy simplistic and cute design it's about a 4 inch figure but it is the god of articulation and I could totally see how a lot of parts in a lot of different kits and armor kits from the series to be very cool plus it's very reasonably priced enter $10 cash for around 4 dollars you can turn it into a Gundam from a grunt if you will

My better half actually talked me in to ordering the green portanova 30MM as she is desperate for me to try something other than gunpla! I do admit the line does look very promising and with the sole point of customization I think I will be pleasantly surprised when I receive it! I also plan to build it within 30 minutes!

How exactly can you make the 4 legged look? Been trying to figure it out, but very uncertain on how to pull it off.
I have been getting into these but am wondering how to properly use the wrist joint extensions from the Option Parts sets. Like, I attach the hands to it, but how am I supposed to attach that back onto the arm?
I already got like 30 this seriously 15 altos 10 opf which are the simple while the last 5 has the optional parts like the recentlyrel;eased jet alto and the commender/Gundam face

How's the quality of the parts ?
Awesome Toys TV pretty much on par with the standard HG stuff. They are a bit short tho. More around the size of the RG crossbone. But the articulation on them is great and even the small add on packs make them more lively.
Also I would say this is Bandai’s answer to frame arms than hexa gear. If you look up the FA Zenrai and the new tank alto, you’ll probably see what I mean
@@ShinKatto OMG the tank. I want that tank too. My problem is I already have an alto and I really don't want dupes of the base unit on this series. That is specially because we are getting a "buff alto" in the new rabiot. If it will be anything like the alto progression it will have option parts AND more importantly upgraded versions like the alto tank.
For a regular customer, aside from army building you really don't want dupes. If you like building, you want the advanced version because they come with more parts to build with.
Mark Ongchangco I get that last part, but 30 mm is about making an army. Or you take those other sets and mash them together to make more stuff. Like I said I already have 2, but I want more to add to what I can do with these sets. One bot alone can’t do much so just adding to the pile makes for a better experience.
So I might get a few more of what I want to get my creative juices flowing

they are quite solid, but you need a lot of effort to make it cool and you need to paint it to make it less toy ish

All I did was slap some HGBF/HGBC backpacks/weapons onto an Alto, since I was curious how compatible they were.
Can HGBF parts fit into 30mm ??
Yes they can. They share the same peg hole size. I have put on the backpack and weapons from VeeTwo and MarsFour packs on an Alto, without any modifications.

I'm currently building my 5th. Using a ground type alto, going full artillery custom.
Nice choice. My ground type got painted like the Dom from Mobile Suit Gundam, I just removed the tank treads from the feet and added the Alex Gundam type boosters on the lower legs.
The head was the one included with the submarine extended armament vehicle.
@@nathanjones6638 I reversed the treads to use as pilons, so the treads sit flush against the back at rest then I got 2 exa tanks and used the turrets on the side with the long range option barrels on top. After stripping most of is extra parts, my 2nd just became a ground type command unit. The pair of them are gorgeous, and I feel they are both perfect, for what I want them to be. Next I want to see if I can make the flight type a little beefier. Mech version of a c130 is what id like. Just seems so dainty, but I love the idea of mounted heavy cannons on a flight type
@@ceasarspartacus might want to pre order the new kits, then. The Byron's are going to be getting a combination feature.
The Esposito (new flight type) has slightly better leg units.

i bought and build one last night. i like it but i didn't realize that the armor i bought wasn't universal: it won't fit the kit i have. i figured all their armor kits worked with all their base models. i was wrong.

What did you get? Cuz really the shoulders would be universal regardless since all the armor sets use the same shoulder connection. And to be fair they do say which kit the armor is for on the package.

I have an alto decked out in all 3 booster packs and the space portanova on the way. My only regret is not waiting for the variants to come (who knew at the time) out because OF COURSE Bandai would not sell these as option parts ~_~

what if Gunpla developers would allow to include an actual Actuators and the likes in them? Unlike the traditional, well mostly all Gunpla's joints are connected by a socket and ball joints. Rotary motors would do but how we could say on the ball joints? Unless there's a RL related technology regarding a ball joint right? Correct me if there something I missed? tnx!

Im that type of builder who envisions his own gunpla kits like this "if gunpla battle becomes real someday, my go to gunpla kit would be the one i made ESPECIALLY for that use"
And from there sprouted my creativity and thirst for parts |||^-^).
Usually when i build these things i just go into it, and when an idea pops into my head, i can just go back from the start, remove the parts and then trasnform it into that! And its. Really. Easy.
I bought the No-Name rifle online, an additonal commando-unit armor, and got some extra parts from other kits (I just fucking love it when bandai gives extra additional parts) and started building my dream Astray No Name gundam look a-like than the shitty one we got with bad articulation, an ABSOLUTE absence of a BEAM SABER, a shitty ass fucking excuse of an ARM with LITERALLY THE BLADE FACING TOWARDS THE WRONG DIRECTION WHERE THE FLAT SIDE IS ON THE WRONG SIDE AND IT LOOKS THE LIKE THE ASTRAY IS WHACKING SOMEONE WITH IT.
So there i was, building it. Fueled by my rage, anger, and frustration. I continued to build my dream gunpla. And there it was. A kit that has NO PROBLEMS WHATSOVER DOING WHAT THE SHITTY NO NAME KIT COULDNT.
I love the 30 mm series. Like Mechagaikotsu said in his review, its like LEGO but with gundams and zakus :D

30MM is where it's at for kitbash. I only do perfect grade (mainly a cost/time issue) but I'm interested in kitbash. These things look like giant warhammer and there really should be a board game (TtRPG) around this. Like/reply if u agree. I'll get to work on the board game if this gets 100 likes.

this is like buying a car, its k you can drive it. But then you need to buy doors and windows and seats to make it look good, anyone get a price f these extra pieces ths bloke is talking about ? So no, you can't just buy this kit like a gundam and build complete you constantly have to spend more money
