I clicked on this video to see the Centaur show car. I'm intrigued by the ideas for a modernized cab forward pickup. One question I have is where did GM get a 3 liter inline six? I'm guessing Opel.
They used the 3.0 liter before the 2.8 came out in like 1981 or 82. I have an 88 celebrity with the 2.8 High output MPFI it’s an awesome engine but tht 3.0 liter was a big piece of crap from what I know they didn’t last hardly 100k
@@johnnymason2460 I couldn't find Doug's review, he did do a Ford F-650 'The Ford F-650 is a $150,000 Super Truck'. Donut Media also tested what looks like a similar truck, 'We Drove America's Largest Pickup Truck', and Supercar Blondie tested one, '$500,000 Monster Pickup With 6 Doors.'
The SSR was known for it' 'practicality'? WHAT? I have never seen even a bicycle in the back of one. It seems no one uses it as a truck. It is designed as a Corvette with a small bed attached. Hey! It looks interesting with the top down. But those mechanics in the folding top will (probably) go the way of the Mercedes folding hard tops and be a continued nuisance with parts soon becoming unavailable. We'll see.
You missed a couple of utes we got them in Australia the Suzuki Mighty Boy the smallest ute ever made also that prototype of that ute with its back seat Holden made a ute with a Commodore cabin with a ute bed sold lots of them because Australians love there utes Australian ones and Japanese ones
The Mercedes you mention has little to do with the Perenti that was originally designed by JRA Australia for the Australian army. About the only common things were 6X6 and the Merc was considered by the Army as a replacement that was rejected. The Perenti was a modified Land Rover.
The picture that purports to be of a Mecedes Gelandevagen is, in fact a Land Rover Perentie as used by the Australian Army (it clearly has a Land Rover badge).

The world needs more vehicles that don't fit in carparks.
The Centaur. Wow, so unique. No car company ever thought of mixing a truck bed with a sedan before. 😅😂
Right?!😅
They say the Lamborghini truck was the world's ugliest but yet it seems tough go through anything maybe one day they'll bring back out
Loved that Chevy SSR
That's why I love my 1974 El Camino, my daily drive since 2017, like a regular car.
Way cool thanks 👍

You was better off with an Iron Duke 2.5 than that 3.0
Love to see some of these type of trucks today, simple and cheaper
I Heard That Jerome 😮😮😮😮
The Centaur was pretty cool 4:58
This video makes me feel exceedingly poor. I am questioning my life choices.
Nothing much to talk about... My pick-up truck is actually an 125 cc scooter on which I desperately try to pickup chicks😕
that navistar international was $125,000 starting price it was unique at the time
That International CXT pickup looks like something Jay Leno would own(he seems to own some sort of International pickup).
Ashton Kutcher used to own one. He got a lot of negative media coverage for owning it too.
Doug DeMuro featured one,. They used a Forrd bed. I have seen one in traffic. They're huge.
@@Colorado_Native I'll check that one out when I find it. I know Jay Leno has one because I have the video to prove it at home.

I honestly thought the thumbnail picture was of the butt end of an old AMC Pacer.
😅 Until you watched full video, and realized its GMC Centaur

Does the lambo come with tracks?
What about the coolest fastest pick up in the world. The Australian Holden Maloo.
You did not mention the K car pickups from Japan.
Kei car/truck conversion my favorite is by "blow" make little chevys and old school mid 70's dodge mini van takes
I want the Benz monster truck.
You need to get ya mercs and land-rover pics sorted
6:17 behold our innovation we have created something totally unique and not in any way copied VW T1 pickup.

That GMC looks like a Lumina van shortened and a bed put on. That Lumina van was ugly.
