    I love it. You take a potentially complicated subject, break it down, and make it so even an idiot like me can understand what to do and how to do it. I wish my teachers at school were as good at doing so.

      Thanks! The first draft of this video had a lot of real world data to explain pressing and intensities but I felt it would be annoying to follow. So I decided to keep it simple. Glad you enjoyed it. You’ve given me a feel good factor. Thanks

    I used the idea with Red Star Belgrade and ended up with 14 straight league wins, beating napoli 2-0 and rangers 2-1, also fairly dominating when losing, so i can confirm it works. Thanks a lot!

    Your Ragnick video gave me a really good idea of how to create traps.
    I know look to focus on a zone of the pitch to encourage the ball to. For example, I’m using a 4-3-1-2 with Sturm Graz. I decided to set the zone that I want to draw the opposition into to be the area between the left striker, AMC and MCL
    Therefore I set up in a split block, telling my front 3 + MCL to close down more, tackle harder. I set opposition insurrections to focus on triggering the press on the opponent Right FB + DMCR / MCR , then i tight mark all the players next to the players that I am pressing. I also show the RCB + MCL onto his right foot to encourage a pass into the pressing trap.
    Pregame if I notice left side of the opposition is technically weaker I will focus I will simply flip the pressing zone.
    It’s worked great and is exactly what you described in this video - thanks Daljit completely opened my eyes to a new way to defend.

    I've started using the opposition instructions the way you do based on these videos. One thing I find confusing in the interface, is that despite the positional opposition instructions being set, the individual opposition instructions don't show that you're showing the left wingback onto their right foot, for example. But, I'm assuming it's still doing that based on the positional instruction, it just doesn't copy over to the individual instruction on the UI!

    • @BusttheNet
      @BusttheNet  2 года назад +1

      If you set my position it stays as long as you do it before a game. You can always check by going into the game and checking. You need to click on each position because it defaults to player first. However if you click on position you will see the OIs.

    • @BusttheNet
      @BusttheNet  2 года назад +1

      You need to set it up for where you want to win the ball. In a 433 it works for me if i hard tackle the centre

      @@BusttheNet I’m confused, you said to set up the press where you want to win it back. In the video you said you wanted to win it back in the middle but the OI for triggering the press is on the CBs? I think I’m just failing to understand something

    • @BusttheNet

    I have a couple questions. If you are trying to set a trap in the center why do you not trigger press the DM, MC, and AMC? Also, if the AMR is a winger and not an IF do you still want to show him onto his strong foot? Thanks!

    • @BusttheNet
      @BusttheNet  2 года назад +1

      Keep a narrow and shallow shape and tight mark. Tackle hard the central players but tight mark and press the wide players. Show the wide players inside so their only pass option is the centre. I never show weaker foot because sometimes they could be strong on both feet. So it could backfire, and since most of them don’t have great balance and agility, turning to dribble is going to be affected by whichever foot is stronger. So to prevent myself from getting a headache I rather show them wide and let them cross.

    Are there certain player attributes best suited to a pressing tactic?

    • @BusttheNet
      @BusttheNet  2 года назад +1

      Yes Teamwork, Bravery, Determination, Acceleration, Anticipation, Concentration, Stamina. These are the core attributes you need. If you have low anticipation and crossing, it will affect you badly on transitions. There are more attributes but those attributes are relevant for keeping the ball and others for using the ball. I think I will do a video, beats typing everything out.

    Can you use tighter marking in the middle to force teams outside

    • @Skegfromcraigslist
      @Skegfromcraigslist 2 года назад +1

      Makes sense. Combined with a narrow defensive width and I would imagine it works. You might have to set tight marking to never on the outside players you want to draw the ball to, then close down always on them to trigger the press. You could also show the middle players onto their corresponding foot facing the flanks. So the MCL onto his left, MCR onto his right, etc.

    Hi Daljit, thanks for the informative videos. One question, I still don't understand the show onto foot instruction. You say if I want the right winger to stay outside you show him onto the right foot? Doesn't that mean that you force him to use the left foot, thus having to cut inside?

    • @Skegfromcraigslist
      @Skegfromcraigslist 2 года назад +2

      Show onto foot means you’re encouraging the player to use the selected foot. Think of it in basketball if you know a player always drives right you are going to adjust your defensive stance to deny right and allow him space to drive left. So if you have ‘show onto right foot’ selected in FM your defender will position himself to cut off the players left foot, thus forcing him to use his right foot more.

    Do I just ignore my assistant when he start to tell me players are being dragged out of position to mark?

    • @BusttheNet
      @BusttheNet  2 года назад +1

      You are then using player specific marking you need to be careful with that unless you intentionally want players following a target. For example you might want an AMC to specifically man mark the DM, and you set him to man mark specifically. If you use OIs that warning shouldn’t come up. It only happens with specific man marking
