Poetically put. The Mod era seemed long at the time but in fact was a short period but wow what a period, the music, the attitude, the style ......the drugs! It all started then, available for the youth and we live the legacy today.....the music, the attitude, the style and the drugs. I luv it but be careful.
I can't imagine there will ever be a time like that again. The excitement the clubs the style and we were so young going to clubs alnighters as young as 15 soon as we left school. Bloody hell what days they were . What memories we have.
A crowd of us went in 1968 and 1969, from Lincoln, Lambrettas and Vespas. We went to The Jolly fisherman and the Beachcomber on the front. I've watched this film twice, expecting to see some familiar faces, or even my own, but alas, we are not there. Skegness was a regular pilgramage every bank holiday Great times, great mates,
I will be 77 years of age next month, September 2023. I was a Brighton Mod and at age 17 I was on the beach to the left of the Palace Pier (To the left as you face the entrance) in the afternoon on the Whitsun bank holiday Monday 1964. A large number of us, boys and girls were just sitting and chilling on the beach and not looking for trouble. Suddenly a few brave Rockers (Brave because they were heavily outnumbered) appeared and pelted us with pebbles, we stood up and threw some back. The police then came among us and grabbed a number of us, me included. Long story short, we were kept in the cells overnight and appeared in court on the Tuesday morning. I was sent to a detention centre, Aldington in Kent for three months. I'd never been in serious trouble before. In view of good behaviour I was allowed to go home after serving 2.5 months. The detention centre was run like a boot camp.

We went to skeg in ford tames vans one with Notts on the side from Worksop the other had Itcycoo park tickers from Retford we had a great scene then

cheers just wanted to do something ''different'' let the the guy tell the mods who were there story and provide a back drop, great detail from the mods of the 60's absolutely fascinating to hear their time as Mods, brilliant!!!

Thanks Sean glad you enjoyed the video, wanted to do something different with the photos and footage, the audio was from 2006 something I taped off the radio and transferred the tape to WAV format, this is their generation, their time, was a buzz and an ambition finally to bring it to life, all best.

Am sure Sean the voice audio is the guy Micheal Angelis who used to be in ''The Liver Birds'' and in the t.v series ''Boys From The Black Stuff''
