What a brilliant era. Yes I know it`s old but kids today really don`t know they`re alive. I don`t remember anyone carrying a knife like today. You were either a Mod or a Rocker, and sometimes we clashed, but I certainly don`t remember anyone getting killed. We had it all, the girls, the fashions, the music, and the scooters, and everyone had a few quid in their pocket. Happy days

In 1968, we always went to Skegness, every bank holiday. GREAT TIMES , and still meet up with some of the old crowd, we are all 68/69 yrs old now, the Lambrettas gone, so have the Ben Sherman shirts, but still got a pair of Levis. (jeans, not stay prest). PS. The Dr. Martins went years ago. Now retired, but "keeping the faith".

I'm to young to have experienced this and born on a different island and wrong era I envy and feel sas for anybody who experienced these times
As to live it must of been so much fun and been so exciting
Yet I know the nostalgia would eat me alive the times the faces the music the fun.
God bless and all I can do as a young mod is to keep all of your memories alive .
      God bless
      From the emerald isle

Having spent a week end in Brighton in 1964, I was making my way home on my TV 175 with a friend when we were surrounded by rockers on Crowborough Hill. One of the rockers kicked my side panel and I ended up in a ditch. No harm done!!

Tame compared to these days ... There'll always be some sort of competition going to amongst young people finding their way but in the sixties I can't remember stabbings etc like now .

Happy days, left school in 1963 aged 15, the best time to be alive. I was a mod then, loved the clothes, and the lads were so smart too.

Never got down to Brighton, Skegness was our stoming ground, every Bank Holiday, the seafront was packed with Lambrettas. We travelled from Lincoln, setting off from the "Viking Coffee Bar" on Clasketgate. Anybody out there remember Hank, Tex, Rai and Jinxy etc.,

Too young to have experienced it All 1st time round,so watching these original clips fills me with a sense of wow!! Again I love the song you've chosen for the sound track for this video chaz.i wonder if you have any footage of the high numbers doing their version of this song at the railway back in 64? Or it could have been at the scene club? I'm sure you'll put me right on the venue,as previously seen clips of the high numbers in other fantastic video's of yours, I'm hopeful there's a video of it waiting to make my day! Always admired and appreciated Chaz thanks for posting and sharing these great mod videos!👍👍👍🛵🛵🛵

It's a funny thing with the music, Rockers used to love the Ameican Rock & Roll & the Mods their American Rhythm and Blues & Soul - but a lot of this music had so much in common in its roots, which was a lot of Black American Music. Come the 1970' when I was 'around' (Only 9 in 1964 ) and I loved lots from BOTH "sides" and I could see where a lot of where this came from melted together.
      Fantastic music and truly timeless.

The irony is that all of adults now use to be kids with dreams of never becoming like that and sooner or later we would become a reason for next generation to form some sort of rebellion against our often bleak, borring life style. So history would take a turn whether we like it or not. Doubt it would be same as in the past but something would always happen.

I believe the mods on the scooters are from Bermondsey 1965 , so if you can contact any of the original 60s Mods from that area if they are still around via another social media site, perhaps they could give you more info on the 773 ALE reg plate owner, hope this info helps, all the best, lucky you having the reg plate uber cool!!!!

I was just going to say how nice, not seeing any fighting, then we went past the 2 min point. There was little fighting. I was friend's with a Greaser {my old Head Boy} and if we didn't have 'wheel's, we'd take the other to his local drop off. My 'MOD' Café & his Greasy Spoon. I was one of only 2 Mod's in my village and got on better with the Grease than him.
