- As part of inclusion week, these students who have special needs sang the National Anthem before the high school's basketball game, and the crowd erupted with applause. (via: @oprfhschoirs/ig )
People rejoicing in what other CAN do, rather than mocking and belittling them for what they can't. We need so much more of this in our nation right now.

Myself, my son, my daughter, several cousins and my God daughter all work in public schools with special needs students. Being around them makes you have a whole different outlook on life. They can be some of the happiest people even though they have challenges. Working with special needs youth has also given us a whole new appreciation and care for special needs adults.

I worked with these beautiful people for a many years and they have a determination like noother. I found out that most of them put in a very large struggle in displaying strength. Some don't try to use their disability as an excuse for not attaining their purpose. Very competitive 😊!!

A few years ago was lucky enough to drive a special needs teen to school a couple times a week. She was the brightest part of my day because she was always full of wonder and joy. She was always pointing out how amazing and cute things were. She taught me so much and I was always left thinking "that is amazing why didn't I notice or appreciate that?"
I have happy tears😢😢 theses are awesome TEACHERS it takes time and patience. A mother of a autistic adult son and retired Home Health Aide 😊

For several years since retiring from his programming career, my husband has been a school bus driver for special needs kids. He loves “his kids” and has the utmost respect and admiration for both their teachers and their parents.
Heartwarming! And some of them even have hearing protection, which is an great idea (at some events they are absolutely necessary for everybody). Amazing work 😁👍

A couple of those kids reminded me of my oldest son.
As a sister to a special needs individuals, it warms my heart to see how kind people can be to special needs indivuals. My sister sadly was not treated fairly or nicely or kindly at school until she went to a school that was just special needs students. even after graduating people still judge my sister because she is special needs, when I find that out I kind of want to punch those people. But this video helped to remind me that there are just as many people who will support and show kindness and friendship to those with special needs as there are who will not.
