I’m impressed with the dad. The dad is so right- people who learn slowly can still learn if the the teacher is willing to go at the right pace. But people are impatient and lazy and all or nothing and they quit. Attitude is so much of success. Resilience is something I need more of myself
What an outstanding Dad to never give up on his son and have that unwavering faith and patience to help Chris learn! This hits hard for me. My first nephew was born with a hole in his heart. He needed to have open heart surgery as a newborn baby. By the grace of God is closed on its own and no surgery required. Gage, my nephew, will be 31 in July! Downs is a wonderful ability not a disability.
This story about Chris inspires me. This story warms my heart ❤️ and gives hope to other people who has disability overcome their life challenges. So, proud of Chris and I hope he wins!!! 🤗❤️🤗
This guy is an absolute inspiration to everyone in the world. He has done and achieved more in his 24 years of life than I have in 55 years. I am in awe.
What a successful young man you have become! Keep up the great progress! You have proven that you can do anything that you set out to do! Congratulations😊
Yeah!!!! 💪😊 We CAN and are ABLE to do anything we commit our energy to. Where there's a WILL, there's a way. Sometimes all we need is inspiration to get us up and moving. Thank you Chris. You're a champion!
Go Chris go!!! What a blessed woman his fiancé is to have a man like Chris. May God give you his wisdom & blessing as you build your lives together making Him the center of it.
I am a retired Soldier, this young man has Iron will and discipline. I am awed and humbled by his tenacity and determination. He is an example to us all. Well done Chris! You, Sir, are a beast!
Dad, not only is Chris a hero, but you are as well. You both have shown this world that life is about showing respect, honor, and love. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH.
This is what happens with great parenting!! The biggest problem I find is many ( not all ) parents with a child which has a disability will treat them like a baby their entire life, won’t let them do things for themselves… I will never forget these two boys ( twins ) with down syndrome, they were the most kind, loving, caring and non judgmental men you’d ever meet. And because their parents never mollycoddled them, they grew into fine young men, who had many friends and respect from our neighbourhood. So thank you for raising a fine young man and not holding him back but thrusting him towards greatness 🙏🏽❤️
This effort will pay Chris many benefits beyond winning the ironman race; as many with downs syndrome don't live as.long due to their cognitive limits impacting their ability to know how much unhealthy food is too much, know when they are gaining an unhealthy amount of weight, etc. This is also true of other neurocognitive disorders, such as Autism which my parents and two siblings had. As the father points out; Chris had to put in 50% + effort to learn the skills necessary to compete in the iron man contest, and this is a life lesson for Chris and us all that we can achieve more than we think.
Where to go to Chris I’m happy that you did all that. You’re a strong man with down syndrome. Great job I have a learning disability and I give you courage to keep going and doing things don’t let people put you down I don’t.
Hooon 😍 So happy for him !! 🥰👏🏾 It's important to always believe in yourself !! Chris is a real exemple of determination !! 👌🏾😍 May God bless him and all the people who are there for him !! 🙏🏾🙌🏾❤️
Go Chris, run the race, your beautiful race. Noonee else can do that as good as you. My son was born in renal failure, transplanted at 10 months, passed his proficiency tests first time with IQ of 89. I never told him he couldn't, just encouraged him to dream....
I was a young kid when a cousin with Down's Syndrome was born. I immediately looked it up in the encyclopedia my parents just bought. I distinctly remember how Down Syndrome affected individuals were described as "very affectionate". That was all I needed and I felt, "All right then!!!"
Sometimes that’s all we can do. We don’t all have the amazing support system others do. Our journey is to be our own strength. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, my friend. Sure it may be very faint sometimes, but it’s there. I believe in you.
The most interesting discussion I had about disability and having a handicap ... was with a group of people with Down Syndrome. The most hurtful comments I ever received came from a man who volunteered for decades for a venue welcoming families with abilities and disabilities. Today I " am brave".
Have to say your the man Chris changing the world for the better day by day. That's an amazing incredible accomplishment so proud of you. Keep up the great work. SJ Sending my love and prayers always for you and family and friends.
And I’m over here complaining because I’m tired. The challenges this kid went though are far beyond how tired I am. Talk about being humbled and motivated.

That’s it! Most people don’t have the patience and are lazy. They can only succeed if they put all the time and effort into it
Not just a body of iron, but a will of iron!
He proved everyone wrong. He’s amazing ❤️❤️

Whenever someone says Chris can't do this or that, he can just lift up his shirt, and they'll be quiet. This dude is seriously in shape.
