I don’t think they are using the term roadmap the same way other devs do. They just mean timeline for announcements. It’ll all be before launch, just no set dates yet
It will have to be a new match engine- even if its largely based on the old one. They've mentioned match engine improvements and they most likely won't be able to just port over their custom engine to Unity
You're spot on with your original comment. Moving to Unity doesn't mean a new match engine it means their code to match Unity and work. I would expect them to improve on it, but I expect it to be similar to what they have known for years.
@@Sasmaz_sj I guess the question of whether it’s a “new” engine could depend but the stuff back from the project dragonfly announcement would imply major changes, at least graphically. Hello ,disappointing no beta when preordering, I am still optimistic fm 25 will be good , I noticed pc specs for fm 25 is different to fm 24 , 20 gb space needed fm 24 needs 7gb I also noticed recommended specs is mid range card needed, found this specs on the steam page , interesting.
The images on Steam look like they were put together on photoshop and not like actual in-game screenshots. Kirby's "info" tab is identical to Ferguson's despite her being a solid foot shorter irl, and Ferguson's dribbling and flair are coloured green despite only being 9s (clearly a mistake originating from copypasting the attributes from the other pics). Imho those pictures are not real screenshots but rather they were poorly put together with Photoshop or a similar program. Also why would a third of the screen be out of focus in the very first screenshot? Definitely feels more like design documents than actual screenshots...
They probably were. Using placeholder details. Re:the focus on the first screen is probably licensing and what they are allowed to use for marketing (as opposed to just in game). It’s the football league and national league licences they have blurred.
@@SiMaggio your point about licenses makes a lot of sense, thanks for bringing it up. I'm not as pessimist as other people are about FM25, but as a software developer I'm definitely seeing some bad signs coming from SI. Still, even if 25 isn't the absolute best game ever I'm confident they'll bounce back with 26 as long as they were able to build a solid codebase this year.
@@arturillosmeriglia8029 it’s only been ‘delayed’ (comapred to normal release) by a few weeks. If it was bad I’m sure it would be delayed longer. The new AC is delayed until Feb for example
@@SiMaggio oh yeah I agree with you. I think SI fumbled the marketing campaign by keeping to their tried and trusted gameplan instead of understanding that this year fans needed more info and reassurance than usual, and surely remaking the game in Unity posed some challenges they were not prepared for (not their fault, this ALWAYS happens in software development). I still believe that FM is headed for a fantastic new era with modern graphics and the ability for deeper and more effective changes with each edition thanks to the flexibility that Unity gives.
whenever a ui has been simplified no matter genre of game it has lead to the game being dumbed down. The game is being streamlined to appeal to those too dumb to understand complex systems.
Give us an example. People keep saying this but I can’t think of any games that do this. No other genre of game do we care about console vs pc. They’ve already told us what’s being removed - why do you think the game is being streamlined further? They’ve already said all the data and detail is staying as is.
@@SiMaggio wouldn't be the first developer claiming we aren't dumbing it down. They always use streamlined or accessible as the catchphrase to replace what they are actually doing. If you want examples loads in the rpg genre if you want to do any research. @@stefan9inter people keep saying it happens but no one can give any examples. At most it’s games with complex control schemes- which fm does not have. I don’t know why you think they are dumbing it down. There’s simply not enough information out there to assume that. Making the game more accessible and intuitive would be a good thing, but that doesn’t have to come at the cost of depth. @@SiMaggio its only good if it doesn't game at the expense the complex systems that the original fans preferred and that is almost never the case. They already removed the data chalkboard part. We will see when the final version is released how much else was cut.
@@stefan9inter simpler ui doesn't always mean dumb down tho. It just means, a summary of the complex data is given to you first. It's why they are using this new tiling and card system. Summary at the front, details inside. Removing chalkboard isn't because of new UI. It's just obvious they didn't estimate the time required to port every single feature from fm24 into Unity perfectly well which is normal.

The Fran Kirby thing is probably a placeholder- there are other mistakes there like the colours too. I would be surprised if there are women only positions. It’s probably an oversight again or it’s from the wider forward position. They called it a roadmap the last few years. They might be incorrectly using the term but wouldn’t be first time. They also use term “games as service” when talking about gamepass, when most people understand it to mean microtransactions and season passes.
I think everyone that is worried about no features being shown off yet have to keep in mind that this is totally in line with every other FM release at this point in time - minus the short delay of course. The difference this time round is that we have had blog posts about the game dating back to FM24 and so it feels like the game has been announced for ages with nothing to show.
