    If they want independent contractor status enshrined in law then they have to act like their drivers are independent contractors, which means we should be able to negotiate what we get paid. A whole lot of the issue is Uber and Lyft have allowed over saturation in each market.

    I’m not a fan of government either but it is the only stick we can use to beat the $$ out of Uber/Lyft monopoly. We need the state/Feds to classify Rideshare as a utility and have an elected commissioner to check the Rideshare companies because they have been proven untrustworthy.

I understand that Uber and Lyft are for profit companies and I want them to make a profit but they have to remember and act in a manner that shows they respect and know their drivers being profitable is just as important. Also in my market granted its not huge city but i do between 25-35 rides a day we currently get 94 cents a mile but 14 cents a minute which is never worth waiting on people longer than alotted time specially ones that abuse stops which i typically decline anymore . 2yrs driver here btw 😊

      If every driver did this all the time, you Uber people would get your fair share of the pie. It’s exploited the desperate or the one not able to comprehend it. But I suggest that all the rideshare folks try to follow the cherry pick. When I talk to Uber drivers this is a recurring theme. All the trash fares. If people are desperate enough to accept them or playing the game of chasing bonus for a number of rides, it is destroying any chance of the giants to change ways.

      They are afraid a precedent will be set and other city’s driver force will do the same and then they have to answer to stock holders when the bottom line drops. Greed will ruin them in the end. I took the taxi from 30 street station to phila airport and it was flat 32 dollar fare. Uber and the other giant wanted ten dollars more than the taxi. These giants got in by beating the taxis and now the greed has it a matter of time that riders take more taxis. But these kids with daddy’s money do not care. Many are scared to get into taxis. It will be interesting how it plays out. The shareholders were watching the Minnesota ordeal and even if rideshare companies prevail, there is fear lurking and a minor sell off- 9 percent drop.

    • @jhonperegrino5636
      @jhonperegrino5636 22 дня назад

      Yes and a cap on people entering the industry. As a rider it feels like there is desperation among drivers now. It is also a situation where the rider who is getting charged more now than ever feels responsible to help the driver if they are not ignorant of what’s going on. The key to how this will continue is the ignorant or extremely driver who accepts the 30 percent after the hidden fees. How is 16 dollars from my 52 dollars paid is equally 70 percent. Is this that new math.

    • @Dj-Breeze
      @Dj-Breeze 19 дней назад

      Yeah I agree. Fact of the matter even if uber raises prices it won't last long. Passengers need to know they can order a car to a location check the price wait 2 to 10 mins then try again and they may get a cheaper price. This is a type of corporate greed that eventually changes over time. That time can be soon or in many years. There is a much better formula where both make the month they want and drivers get what they want. When you have CEo's surrounded by the people who only think outside the box how to scheme on drivers and passengers then you won't get anywhere. And yes harry I said scheme because that is exactly what they do. The Beyonce concert in las Vegas. I HAD A TESLA. UBER TOOK AWAY THE SURGES BUT NOT FOR PREMIER!!! I HAVE THE SCREENSHOTS. That was known to have been a scheme, they somehow forgot to shut it off for premier rides. I messaged and talked to customer support and have those screen shots. They said it was a known glitch but the news reported uber took it off on purpose but not for the passengers. Schemes!!! It's what propelled me to start driving for Lyft. It's like a girl who cheats on you then gives you an elaborate lie.then you find out the half truth. You think she wont do it again???? Hmmmmmmm
