    I have been pretty impressed by Elgato Epoccam. It can use WIFI, to the desktop app which gives you some nice image and exposure control. Pretty snappy. It can also output NDI. You can also use the NewTek NDI viewer utility app to output fullscreen to an HDMI output on a Macbook, which is a good free option. MItti by has NDI cues, so you can have muliple NDI inputs on one channel of your switcher. Pretty handy.

    Thanks for making this video - great information! I wonder if you could use more than 1 Apple TV (1 per input?) for multiple iPhone angles. This would most likely need to be ethernet connected. In the same way, could a Raspberry Pi be configured as an Airplay receiver and used the same way? It would be super cheap to make a stake of 4 Pi's and add a network switch to a mobile rig!

    Hi Aaron. Thanks a lot for your contents as they really help me doing my live streams.
    About NDI, I've used NDI HX Camerap app and use NDI Studio app as a receiver on my pc. The rest is just as using airplay.
    Just donload the free NDI Tools and you'll even get to receive NDI signal as a webcam input if you need it.

    • @aaronpk
      @aaronpk  Год назад

      Receiving NDI as a webcam is a cool trick! It looks like the NDI Studio app has a way to output the video full screen on one of the monitors of the PC too, very cool. I tend to stay away from Windows solutions though because of a long history of bad experiences using Windows computers in live events. But if it works for you that's great!

    • @MartinRodrigue
      @MartinRodrigue Год назад

      @ Aaron Parecki For wireless video pass from phones and other computers, NDI has worked well for me as long as it's on a 5GHz wifi. Usually, I pull it into OBS to redo some overlays. Still, the Studio Monitor app for Windows permits a clean feed straight to a monitor that can easily be rerouted into an ATEM. Using a Galaxy S20 with the NDI HX camera app, kinda hate that it's a paid app. Otherwise, for Android clean feeds, most of the other solutions I've used before pulled a feed into OBS with a plugin, such as DroidCam or IP Webcam, both of which are a little higher latency than NDI HX.
      Would be interesting to try the Birdog Play option...

    Awesome tips. Thanks Aaron. I was actually thinking ( of course there will be a huge latency) Iriun App sending to OBS= use OBS virtual cam into HDMI out from your computer to the Atem. That way you can still use your computer for other stuff. I am assuming there will be a remarkable delay though

    • @aaronpk

    A good alternative to the devices reviewed in this video is the EZCast Pro Box II wifi receiver. This stand-alone receiver outputs HDMI up to 4K30, and connects to iPhone, Android, Mac or PC devices through its own 5GHz wifi receiver, or connected via ethernet to an external wifi network. It comes with free iOS and Android apps to manage camera and connection options, and supports both AirPlay and Miracast. The apps that run on laptops support built-in webcams and don't take over the laptop. Up to four smart phones and/or laptops can connect to the EZCast Pro simultaneously, displayed in a four-corner grid on-screen. All these devices require careful attention to wifi network coverage and bandwidth, but once you get the EZCast Pro properly configured and the phone apps installed, it's easy to connect multiple video devices, including ATEM switchers that lack SuperSource.

    Thank you for great work on your youtube channel. I had a question about Atem Mini Extreme ISO (HDMI as well as SDI). So we have 2 HDMI Aux outputs and we an send Multiview through that. My question is can we have Cam 1 to 4 via Multiview 1 via HDMI 1 and Cam 5 to 8 via Multiview 2 via HDMI 2. Assuming I have connected 8 cams to my Atem Mini Extreme. And similarly for the SDI version can I do 4 different multiviews with a combination of different cameras, etc. Waiting for your reply...

    • @aaronpk
      @aaronpk  8 месяцев назад

      There is only one multiviewer on the ATEM Mini Extreme, so you can't have separate multiviews going out the different ports. The larger ATEMs like the ATEM 2M/E Constellation HD have multiple multiviewers. That said, you can get up to 16 boxes on the multiview on the ATEM Mini Extreme, so you can definitely show all 8 cameras on the multiview screen, just not as 1/4 screen boxes.

    Anyone find iPhone camera apps (NDI or otherwise) that will work in the background? For a band, that all already has iPads in front of them with sheet music, it would be awesome if all of those could suddenly become POV cameras but of course they still need to be able to read the music. Also VERY useful for another reason - my wife's studio (I do the tech and video for her online teaching) has banks of LED lights. It's refresh rate cause horizontal bands to scroll up the screens. I adjusted frames per scond down and voila the bands disappeared.

    How do you reconcile frame rate issues? I'm guessing you're working with an ATEM that supports multiple frame rates simultaneously. Is there a way to customize the frame-rate going into the ATEM with the iPhone? For instance, if I chose to purchase an AppleTV to stream an iPhone signal to my ATEM, could I set the Apple TV HDMI output to 29.97FPS? Thanks for any and all help!

    • @aaronpk
      @aaronpk  Год назад

      Thankfully the ATEM Mini and all the new generation ATEM switchers have frame rate converters on the inputs. So the way it works is you choose what frame rate you want the ATEM to operate at internally, and then all the inputs will be converted to that frame rate before the signal gets into the video switcher.
      I don't think the Apple TV has an explicit frame rate setting, but you might be able to "trick" it by using an EDID emulator device to tell the Apple TV what frame rate to send out the output.
      Then you can use one of the iPhone camera apps that lets you choose what frame rate it films at just for good measure.
      That'd be an interesting thing to test end to end though... maybe a good video idea when I have the time!
