i made my own flyers printed them out and gave them to highschool students and college students and told them to write their names on the flyers they hand out and if i got a job through their flyer id ask the home owner the name on the flyer and theyd give it to me and the info and i would pay the kids if i got the job once it was complete 250.00 dollars and it worked it got my name all over. i mean you can give them 100 dollars per referral whatever you believe you could afford... i had one kid pay off his book costs at his college one year for finding me jobs

I am so glad to find a contractor that gives me real world answers. I have been subcontracting for the past few years and realized the hard way how much control they have over your capitol and sucess. Now I have forced myself to start over with a different approach.
The whole time I trusted thier word come to find out they were taking advantage of my ignorance. Thanks for doing these videos man not many people that can explain it to the common man.

    Tom,
I would like your opinion, {others welcome} Before COVID I regularly attended home shows and they were a good fit for me. They were all cancelled due to COVID, then we had good response from the website through COVID. Would you say that there is an overall permanent shift away from shows to the internet? The first one is now scheduled and I am wondering if it will be a boom or bust? I am looking for a current "market temperature" Thanks

As an elevator contractor, there is actually kind of a problem with having too many jobs on the books! Our trade requires a lot of experienced supervisors, to watch over the union labor on every job. There are a metric shit ton of very technical mechanical details and electrical complexities during the construction of an elevator. Unless the typically incompetent union employee is closely supervised nearly all day, things will go south. Come in late, fk it up, steal the tools, work slow, go home esrly, re-do the work the next day. Lather, rinse, repeat. Unless the field labor is closely supervised, the job won't make money.
Supervisors are usually former elevator people, but they have to give up their union card, so they're not easy to come by.
Also, starting an employee out the right way from entry, takes a few years, which is an investment of hundreds of thousands of dollars in that employee. By the time they actually start helping make money, it's a half million dollar investment.

@@contractorfighttv my goals for the business is to grow it to a point that i can sit back a little bit and enjoy the part of the job i like. which is making great money and people managing. i own an exteriors company at the moment and im getting pushed very hard by my bank account to not be able to hire someone else. Honestly i know the first bit of a start up will be hard but i feel that if i am not working then i would have to pay 2 guys way more than i would be making. or is this just a moment that i need to suck it up hire someone else and wait for the big money down the road?

email contractors directly. i am a painting contractor and i email general contractors saying where i am, what i do and to call me. If you email enough of them. You are bound to get a response. Some may even reply with a bid request. How do you find these contractors. Simple. Just google contractors near me.

@@contractorfighttv I was suckered in a voicemail wanting they didn't have a carpenter, wanted hire me.
I saw the area code, called back, turns out to be Home advisor in colorado.
I felt uneasy talking to them, manager after manager wanting to hire me.
I checked them out every you tube video blasted Home advisor. Each website complained about them. At first called service master.
Angie's list is little better until you want to cancel one roofer told me stay away, he had to close out his bank account switched banks, as they kept billing him.
For me is yelp, you can't cancel a contract, I asked my attorney general office it's renewable contract at the end of the contract.
As your start went door to door or saw reason to stop offer painting service.
I like Google my biz, though is nation wide, had St louis cardinals player ask for my services. 8m 1,000 miles away. Hum, maybe he's rich. No I have integrity, charge same price rich or not
