Thanks for doing this!! I worked for nearly 30 years at the Lansing hospital the injured children and adults were brought to. The stories those nurses told still echo in the halls. I met an elderly man who lost his leg, and his brother, in the blast.

Exactly! Also at that time farm equipment wasn't cheap either, it was pretty new but he apparently had alot of it. But then again that's cause it wasn't about taxes. Why did he kill his wife over school taxes? Why didn't he blow up the church? They wanted an ungodly amount money too and potentially embarrassed. It was never about the money. He was a sick creep and the taxes were a "good excuse" or "good reason" in his sick mind...
I bet if we could go back in the mind of someone just walking around at the time we would see this guy was probably already antagonistic to children on the daily and knowing the times it probably wasn't his first time harming children.

Conveying thoughts and prayers at least lets the affected know people are thinking of them and mourn with them, providing some amount of comfort. It's really silly to say "thoughts and prayers do nothing." You just want to bash religion; you want to make a point of saying "it duz nuthin."

Their political agenda is just a "good reason" to do what they already planned to do. My church (Bath United Methodist church) was blown off its foundation from this explosion. It was beside the school. My Friend Raymond Esthruth was in second grade, the most affected. 26 2nd graders went to school that day, 13 were alive after the explosion. We have a plaque in the church with all the victims names.
The last survivor that I knew was Dean Sweet.
There is a statue of a girl holding a kitten in the Bath museum that was made from pennies sent in from children.
It was the largest mass murder by explosion until the Murrow Oklahoma city bombing. It was also done from a man from Michigan...
Fun fact, they only found the shoe and foot of Andrew Kehoe after the truck exploded. They buried it in an unmarked grave in St. Johns MI. They dug 2 graves so no owe would know which contained his last remains.
Bath has an annual "Bath days" in the James Cousins park with the copula in the center. Yes, they do have bath tub races.
    Thanks for the great summation.

Interesting thought. Is there a familial connection between Andrew and Chevie Kehoe?. I know Chevie was born in Florida, but that doesn't mean much.
