I can’t even begin to describe how thankful I am. For literally months I’ve dealt with a hard start that probably ate up my starter. Was worried I was going to have to replace it. Tried a new battery, but that didn’t work. Checked fuses. So much trouble. Car started to die upon start up in cold and would need a jump. I gave that chassis to body wire a squeeze and moved around a little and boom. Fixed. ONLY for it to be a 5 inch exposed chassis to body ground wire!? It’s ridiculous that it’s not insulated. Definitely replacing it the way you did for future reliability. Thank you soso much. My 07 civic EX is happy now.

Nice video! thank you! Another place to check is the ground to the thermostat housing. I also think if the problem happens when it is cold (condensation) or damp outside, this is a red flag for a ground connection or some other wiring connection issue.

Really? 2005 Honda Fit, the car sounds like it's struggling to start, then one day it completely refuses. Me and my mom (as we got stranded once in a gas station) had this issue a couple months ago, new battery, new starter, new fuel pump, engine doesn't get locked up since it works like 5 minutes ago, fuses all good, solenoid all good and running out of ideas what could possibly caused it. Thanks for this video, I'll keep this in mind when I actually have my own car and the car refuses to start somehow.
But 1:34 is a pure fact.

I had almost identical problem in 2008 civic HB, and even though I tried first charging the battery and the charger said "FULL", and checked the grounds and the relays (except from starter which is in an impossible place) the battery was to blame. One indication of faulty battery was the wipers and electric windows moving at half speed.

Hi! I have a question. I have fuses in the interior that are not working, I thought a replacement would fix the issue but apparently its a wiring issue maybe?. Can you help me with guidance on how to repair? I have a 2009 Honda Civic. My headlights, hazard lights, or signals do not work. When I checked the fuses in the interior fuses 12-17 gave me problems. fuses 12 & 13 had minimal power gave a dim light on the fuse pen, while 14-17 gave me no power even after replacement. I also have to heavy crank to get my car to start. Any guidance on self repair?
