Chrome spray paint on car rims. Let's see what they look like after 9 months. The chrome spray paint is on the soft side but I think they have held up pretty good. I would call them budget rims and presentable.

dont fuck around with the cooling systems on these buddy, it runs really hot for some reason (thermostat opens at 220 F? cant remember for sure) and its all plastic crap known for leaking alot and cracking etc even with delco coolant and everything. i never seen a thermostat so filthy as the one you're showing, i think it's the stop leak for sure. i would NEVER pour stop leak into a cooling system, period, thats just the way i was trained, much less a car with such a legendarily shitty cooling system as a 1.4 cruze.
Wow! Love the colour! Gives us a good idea of how it's going to look! 💙

Good deal. With new suspension it will probably drive amazing.
@@SanDiego_VDubLife. Thanks man !! I hope so 👍
If you really wanted to be cheap you might stick suspension parts on offer up or Facebook marketplace. I wish I had saved mine. I think I gave it away on craigslist.
Great video Stephen! I think you did good on that purchase! 👍🏽Thanks for sharing!
@@GodandGears Thanks Matt !
Completely ghetto. You Didn’t even bother to sand the peeling paint and curb rash. The center caps will look like they are missing blacked out like that. No paper under the rims while spraying? I’ll bet the silver outlines on the garage floor look great lol. You shouldn’t be posting how to videos if that is your level of workmanship.
Hi Stephan, it's a nice buy👍🏻. However, I saw the warning signals in the dash👀 Some could surprise you with difficult things, such as the lights, safety belts, and the engine warning signal. my friend I hope you don't get too many problems with the beetle. It`s old so you will also discover some rust problems, especially beneath. See you in the next video. Greetings.Hubertus🙏🏻🇳🇴🇳🇱🍀💫🇨🇦
@@HubertusSchaper Yes. It has issues for sure. Was a cheap car so I don't plan on spending much Thanks !
If I were you I would replace the timing belt, tensioner and water pump first. This is an interference engine and belt should be changed every 40k miles. If the belt breaks it destroys the engine and you don't have to worry about the rest of the car. Great deal though.
Yes, I have been thinking about this. This car appears to have been neglected. It's definitely on the to-do list. I just want to get the suspension done and drive it a bit. Thank you for the feedback 👍
Pretty cool rig

Glad you got a decent deal
@@mr.eswatchreviews Pretty good, time will tell !
Does it have glow plugs? What was that noise when you shut it off? Only my knowledge.... most modern VWs require a wiring harness to fix 90 % of electrical issues. My sisters (my 09 rabbit) required a 275$ US, to fix all the issues. Excellent find...
@@Whitecranekungfu Don't know yet, will find out soon I guess
@@Whitecranekungfu I have heard about dealer only stuff. I hate that. Apparently radio, seats etc the dealer has to program.
Forget the ugly Beetle, and get back to the '69 bus!
Not bad for $500
@@EYE_SPIDER It's good !!! Boom 💥💥💥

@@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE Yes, I thinks so. Already ordered 👍👍👍. Thank you Zane !
For 500 bucks you can sell the motor and make a profit
My thoughts exactly. But now I want to drive it 😄

Not bad for 500, a little TLC and you’ll have a driver!👍🏽 Thanks for sharing Stephen!

The chrome paint you get at dollar general looks and holds up better than that paints.

I say run it like that! 😁 JK that's what Pimp My Ride used to do. Good work. Took a lot of dedication and persistence. Can't wait to see where you go next. Still no rain here in San Diego, but I have a feeling when it comes it's gonna rain a lot, so I still need to get the window put back in asap. First step is buying some gas.
Thanks man ! I threw the paint on just for fun lol. I wish I was at that stage, still more metal work though.
Best video yet on this. I have a ‘23 pro of course with cameras too but I made a very slight hit backing into my campsite late one evening and hit a big tree. Nothing broke not even indentation in the plastic outer cover but the corner is out of whack and that corner plastic bracket isn’t broken either so I guess my culprit for the misalignment in the corner is that thin tin metal piece you mentioned so I’m going to remove that plastic corner bracket and see if it can be realigned successfully without replacing it. Thank you very much
@@huckleberrymulberry4764 Thank you !!
