Picking up a low mile 2018 tomorrow morning. Also my first Aprilia. Took it for a test ride today, and that's all it takes. You ride it, and you're never not buying it... Something truly special.
I love Aprilia!! If I tracked my bike very often I would have gone with the RSV-4. Since I don't I went for a 2019 Aprilia Tuono Factory. It's a bit more upright and comfortable, has all the same bells and whistles (plus electronic suspension control) and actually has more power in the rpm range you were using. The RSV-4 will take off and leave it at higher rpm's but then you're at ''go straight to jail' speeds.
This is the first RUclips video I have ever seen with someone riding through Fremont and Niles Canyon. I was born and raised here. Maybe Ill see you on the road and we can go carve it up. Ride safe!
Exactly why this bike is my dream bike. Have an SC Project CRT on mine. Even the cops love the sound of this thing in my town. Absolutely phenomenal on track. I still giggle like a little kid everytime I ride it. Also bike isn’t too tall, the seat is just super wide.
I took a 2017 RR home a few weekends ago and I was blown away by how easy it is to ride lmao and don’t forget the easy power wheelies 👌🏾 got a 2003 Aprilia RSV Mille 😈
As the owner of a '17 Tuono I agree with your critique and opinion on this machine. I would have added that the gearing on this machine is very tall for the street......yes you can ride this around but you normally will never see the higher gears.....but love the V4 motor sound! And the seat is hard on these machines......there are aftermarket options available. Good job and impressive that you can handle this bike so well young lady!
I feel you with the height of the bike. I bought this year's RSV4 1100 Factory, switching from a comfy Honda CBF1000 of the sports-tourer variety, and even at 6' I cannot flat-foot it with both my feet, which I'm still kind of getting used to. With pegs as high as they are, it feels like sitting on a small stool going 100 mph. :D
Aprilia has always had such well sorted chassis, I’ve had the RSV1000R and the RSV4, and they have progressively just gotten better and better, I just recently picked up a 2021 RS660 and can’t wait to get it on the track. My only complaint about the RSV4 on the street was he range, if you are riding with some enthusiasm, I’d get just over 100 miles...
I can say from experience bc I have a 2019 is that once you get the suspension dialed in for you specifically then it’s even that much better. At first I didn’t love it bc it was hard work to ride but after I absolutely fell in love
Was lucky enough to VERY briefly own a used '12 RSV4R the summer of 2016 before I went through my divorce, my favorite bike BY FAR out of the five I've owned. The bike had an aftermarket exhaust by GPR called the Thunderslash - perfectly named, the bike sounded RIGHTEOUS!! Pure eargasm every time I fired it up and got on it - man I miss that sound and bike😉
I just recently purchased an Aprilia myself, coming from an R6 and CBR 600rr background! the RSV4 has a ton of power. Its stays planted on sharp turns and it's hard not to go fast
I love that bike! Also you hit all of my favorite racing roads in this video! I learned how to race on Calaveras rd. I would love to do a collaboration video with you and Alex!
Aprilia has a flow to its performance that is difficult to describe directly…. The concept of “loose” is such a distant thought at every moment you operate these things…. Cohesiveness in action, which is optimal with so much power at your wrist
Absolutely in love with my 2018 RSV4rf. If you think that seat is hard... try a Ducati Panigale (pre-V4), makes the Aprilia feel super plush in comparison.
@@RYU583 🤣 they do look and sound amazing though! Kind of miss being crippled by my 959 just to feel special, and that was definitely more road biased than the 1199 😫😭🤦🏼♂️
Having one of these on the track makes so much more sense. I find the gearing a bit on the tall side for the roads, especially here in the UK(i'm truly jealous of the road surface in your video compared to the roads around where I live!).
@Thomas B Not really true. I'd just enjoy them more if I had a smaller capacity bike/something that isn't geared for tracks. Bit of a moot point now as I sold the RSV4 but the roads were way more fun on the 600 I had.
I could have bought any V twin or inline 4 but when I heard the sound of a V4, I searched out and purchased a 5th Gen Honda VFR, they just sound that good.
The under helmet cheese thing Kat I don't do that but I do talk like if a guy lets me out of a junction I am like "Cheers dude" in my helmet he can't hear me or see me doing it but I still do it .
here in Belgium slicks aren't road legal at all... also, it would be next to impossible to get them hot enough to do proper riding (starting without warmers, I mean); the slight swerving left/right is barely doing anything to heat them up: you need to throttle up and brake for that
I would have to agree with “winter happened” - I’m fortunate to ride year round living in California, but I know that’s not the case for a lot of RUclipsrs I also feel like December is a rough month in general with the holiday craziness.
Hello Kat, you should give the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 a try, with this you have more fun on the road but it is also a beast on the track. By the way, the Aprilia quickshifter is the best there is.
I've watched this video so many times now because i loved it!🥰 I want to buy a new bike soon but i can't decide between this rsv4 and the new s1000rr. If you could coose, which of the two would you take home?
Haha rmeember when i rode a rsv4, exact same impression, im not stopping its too sketchy. Its the only bike i felt i coildnt control other than the v4 which feels like riding on top of an uncontrollable dragon. But riding in 1st gear on this, Just in 10mph feels amazing, i was so positively impressed by it, i didnt think it was my type. It feels like holding onto an explosion due to the torque and power down low and its super tall and sporty stiff. Feels amazing and abit scary. Its the functional ducati previously. I have had a s1000rr for two years, thats totally boring compared.. you have to ride it hard, so if u wanna cruise, get an aprilia rsv4. I thought aprilia was Just some random american brand inline4 generic because it looked kindof standard but its totally an exotic italian lambo.
5:42you gave it 1/16 inch of throttle way out of the power band for 1 second, and climbed 5mph on the speedo, “Ya U gOtTa PuSh YoUr BoDy FoRwArD iT Will RiP u OfF” 🤡🤡😂😂😂🤣🤣 lmaooooo
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. I currently have the Honda VFR1200F it’s a sport touring bike with a 1237cc v4 engine and tuned to around 190hp and 110tq. It gets the job done on the streets and is nice for a trip or two
RR? No no no no. You want the RF. I had an 18 RF and it was the bomb until i bought my 20 V4S which is the bomber. Hahah. Seriously both are great bikes im just being stupid. Having said that my dealer gave me the RR as a demo having my Daytona in for service i was HOOKED, i then TR the RF and got lit up by 4 cops on my demo ride. Having pulled the most epic wheelie right in front of them running several lights i got away w/ no issues. That sold me on it. Now i never stop for the Po. BYEEEEEE
Im 6ft and its not been an issue. I do miss the cruise control. The lean indicator is worthless when your at the track you cannot look at that or you'll die.
I'm quite sure slicks aren't road-legal anywhere; it's also a bit stupid (sorry) to ride those on the street, you'll never get and keep them warm enough doing normal riding like that
negative, let motor rest and use all gears :-) but you sound like you liked it.i own one and ride it in country roads, but Busa Better For street riding :-) Test drive a Hayabusa
Why would you review a motorcycle with slicks? Especially riding through day to day traffic? What a pointless review and I normally love this channel 😕
It’s the first Aprilia she’s ever ridden. I find first time brand riders interesting to listen too. I’m sure Aprilia does as well. I plan on adding this bike to my collection...you know...just to have a faster bike lol (the engine sound alone is worth the money).

Another awesome video Kat I love watching your videos especially when you’re reviewing a motorcycle.

It's such a beautiful bike, would so want one if my heart wasn't in love with the sound of a triple. 2018 Triumph Daytona 675R has my heart.
Love the sound of the v4 engine its so so good 👍👌

That is literally all I need to go buy one.
SOOOOOOOO lucky to have a friend allowing to borrow their RSV4 or Panigale, whenever. Amazing!

I wish I lived somewhere warmer and had cool friends that had cool bikes.
Aprilia chassis are the best in business, period.
Subscribed as soon as you had the “akropovic” debate 😂. Been there so many times hahaha
Great review. Here in the UK 🇬🇧 you would be seriously in trouble running slicks on the road. You are brave.

It sounds soooooo good. 🥲
im 6 ft tall and have to tippy toe at a stand still on my 19 rsv4 rr its just a realy tall bike
I'm 5'8 and it sucks even more for me to keep the bike upright at a stop light.
Such a sexy bike. I'd park it in my living room as a piece of art.

Weight is plus minus 5kg the same like all 1000cc bikes
Why would you say it weighs sooooo much more then your S1000 when they weigh exactly the same....450lbs wet🤷♂️
