The best giovanni tip is to not beat him right away. The decoy grunts are your best friend for hunting shiny shadow pokemon. Decoy grunts are super easy to beat, barely use any resources to beat and give out radar pieces like regular grunts. The giovanni decoys will allow you to build rocket radars easily to go after the rocket bosses. Also, you might get a good PVP iv bellsprout.

While it is a good idea, there's potentially a lot of waiting around involved. If your good with that, great! If you don't feel like waiting months or years for X Pokémon to return, might as well just use em.

For Team Go Rocket special research, my understanding is you can hold off on completing the old research and the new research will automatically show up after you finish it. What happens if two new Rocket research are available? Do you get both in sequence or would you miss out on one and only see the newest one? Context: I am on the A. Silent Schemes Giovanni tasks but not interested in catching shadow Latios. Next new Rocket research is B. Field Notes: Team Go Rocket. If another Rocket research C is active, once I finish A, would I miss B and start C?
Maybe watch the video, he explains exactly what you are asking. If you keep Silent Schemes and dont complete it before the next change you wont get the current one but go directly to the newest research.

Daxi, I think you can still stack the Giovanni missions. I'm currently using 4 accounts and I noticed something. I did get the new Giovanni Field Research and I do have the Silent Schemes, on one of the accounts but the Schemes were only at stage 1 with ALL the rewards unclaimed. The other 3 accounts Schemes are at stage 3 - 5 and they didn't get the mission. So maybe we can try it by not collecting the rewards from the 1st stage of a mission?

I have one from misunderstood mischief, I didt claimed any rewards for it later when shadow latias came I got the silent scheme for it. Now I have 2 super rockert radars cause I completetd both of them for step 15 and step5, but I don't get any research for shadow latios.
Does this mean you can still get two of a desired mon by holding onto the previous Rocket Research? eg., If we find out that Shadow Mewtwo is next, save this weekend's Research and complete it the weekend Mewtwo returns, then use that weekend's Research before Gio changes his mon again?

yes you can still do that. the main point of the video is just that you can only have 1 of these researches at ones (except for few exceptions)
So we need to complete silent schemes before September 1st in order to get the new research line and we can save that radar for the next boss? Or do we need to complete it before the weekend event is over?
its not that complicated: You should ALWAYS use your previous research once a new one comes around. The only question is whether you will then use the new research to get a second copy of that current shadow pokemon or save it for the future. if you save your radar once (hence if you choose not to get one shadow pokemon) it enables you tog et some other shadow pokemon in the future twice. You cant get anything more than twice (at least not with this method). So: Should you use your past research to get Latias? Yes. Not using it would be like throwing away a radar. Should you use your current research to get Latias? Thats the real choice.
I had a radar from a past Giovanni event (really old one, hadn't played in a long time), used it and got Latinos. As soon as I cought it, I got the new special research
Hey pokedaxi,love from Bangalesh 🇧🇩 A tip connected to the matter : if you want to get 2 of the shadow legendary pokemon from giovanni,just save the current giovanni task and wait for the next one. Then complete the both and get 2 of the same shadow legendary pokemon. For example,i Didn't complete the silent scheme. Now there is Field notes: team go rocket task. So to get that,i first beatet Giovanni from the silence scheme super rocket radar. And got a latios instead of latias because the current encounter from giovanni is latios. So now i will complete the field notes: team go rocket and save the pass for the next giovanni pokemon. Now if i need another shadow latios,i will simply use the radar of field notes: team go rocket.
Wow, I'm glad I already understand this concept because I don't think you explained it very clearly. lol. I saved a "non-Giovanni" research and completed it at the same time as a "Giovanni" research, so I'm 1 Super Rocket Radar ahead. I've kept it so I can use it any time I want to farm Decoys. :)

I had a radar saved from the Apex quest (along with the Apex quest still open on the step to defeat Giovanni) and it still gave me the research. I had 2 radars at once in my inventory and used 1 to catch Shadow Latios once. This must only be true in some certain situations.

I never knew this I started when latias was in so luckily I didn’t miss anything special because I still got the radar and I’ll always have a spare for a 2nd shadow legendary but u saved my life thank you so much
Following up on this: I had left Silent Schemes uncompleted until yesterday to get a boosted Shadow Latios. I did not receive the next Rocket Research for Field Notes: Team Go Rocket. I asked Niantic Support and they said we had to get the Field Notes Rocket research in July 2022 or we missed out. Happy to share screenshots as well.
I'm planning on saving mine until they announce the new shadow. If it's something good like Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, etc. I'll use my old radar, do the new quest and get another one. If it's something average, I'll get latios before it rotates out. That's my big brain play. Giovanni rotates so infrequently, there's so many new legendarys to cycle through, and shadow Mewtwo already returned once, I'm not sure how long (if ever) it will return again.

Best pogo channel on RUclips. This video and the one on how to defeat Giovanni really helped. I ended up with a team consisting of Hitmochan, Mewtwo, and Hydregion. That finally did the trick after 6 attempts. I was stuck on Silent Schemes forever. Glad you put this out because now I finally got Field Notes. Thanks for your guidance.
So I was also waiting to complete Silent Schemes until this week-end, but after watching your video I just finished it. I was expecting to get a Shadow Latias but I got a shadow Latios instead ! And now I get access to Field Notes, that means I can get a new super radar and a second Shadow Latios ? Or maybe I'll wait for the next Giovanni event
Yes. How it works is that Giovanni will keep the same legendary until the event that switches it. You get the legendary at the time of catching. In the first rounds of Giovanni which were every month, you had that one month to catch the legendary or else you get next month’s. It was a rotation between the legendary birds and dogs at the time

I've got Masterwork Research Apex 3/4, Misunderstood Mischief 15/16 both of those I have a super rocket radar claimable. I also got the Field Notes: Team Go Rocket, so I didn't have to complete the other ones... But I have previously complete Silent Schemes.
If u have the new research just save the radar and when the new one comes use it and gain the new radar from research this way if a great shadow legendary comes u can have 2 of the good shadow legendary plz dax help me confirm if this strategy will work
Yes this will work i saved latias special research and when latios came I used that old radar to catch latios . After that I got latios special research, so I have 1 extra and if a good shadow legendary will come I'll use latios radar on that new Pokemon and after that I'll get another special research
There is another method to stack super radars but it is so difficult to happen i guess.This happened to me when shadow latias just came out. I completed the research and defeated Giovanni, but when i was going to have my encounter the app lag out so hard that everything just froze. So i had to restart the app but when i did it i didnt have the encounter with giovanni (it was from a balloon) nor my super radar. So i sent a message to niantic staff explaining what happened and they gave me a new super rocket radar but i already completed the research where you had to defeat giovanni so i didnt need to use the radar to finish the research. And thats how i managed to stack the super radar. I just thought it was a curious story and probably replicable but everything needs to align perfectly. Waiting for shadow mewtwo or rayquaza tho
You can actually get 1 extra catch from Giovanni by waiting until he has the new special research, then beating him with the old super rocket radar which should give you the new shadow legendary. The only problem is that you have to skip one legendary to do this once.
This is what I was thinking So are you saying for example if I don’t have any super rocket radars right now, I skip out on the latios and let’s say the next shadow legendary is something I want, I can get it twice. And if I still don’t want it I can just use a radar to get the legendary and do the new research to get the radar back and just repeat the cycle for however long it takes

You can only stack if you have a research that does NOT make you beat Giovanni to complete it. In this case, no you cannot get the current special research until you beat him.
I fought Giovanni and got an okay shadow latios. I had saved a radar somehow when latias was the shadow. I purified it and it's a 93 which I plan to use for my mega. But after hearing that shadow might be good I might want to try and get another latios. Cause after that I unlocked the new research but not sure if I could try to get another shadow latios to try and get good ivs
I had the apex and silent sceams research. I did not get the new rocket research when i finished them both. only after i finished the first page of the new timed research. so you may still get to stack them.
I know I’m late but I don’t have one I started the game 2 months ago but deleted it and just got back to it 2 weeks ago and I don’t have anything like the radar the only things I have that are available it are finding your voice, mythical discovery and the new battle weekend one but none of those are it does anyone know anything about this or can help?
Fortunately I did finish Apex and Silent schemes at the same time, and I already got a Latinos from one. I’m working towards the next Supe Rocket radar but haven’t decided wether get another Latios or wait till next Giovanni’s change. I mean, I managed to avoid Shadow Latias just by activating one SRR once the event had started, and I believed that’s what help me skip Latias

In the video he says (Niantic put in a fail safe from doing this) meaning it’s my first time getting the super rocket radar from the task (team go rocket). In the video you made it sound as if I don’t use this now for shadow latios , not only will I not be abled to stack for shadow mewto, I’ll miss out on both. A lot of people are still unclear on which is it , you can or you cannot save (team go rocket) radar up until mewto , beat Giovanni and get another radar again in the same season for another mewto?

@@Bdigi2012 no, you can stack one from the event over to the next legendary Giovanni has which is mewtwo, but if you wait until the one AFTER mewtwo, you only have your rocket radar and the one from the new quest, meaning the radar you could get from mewtwo will be wasted

I thought latios was EV enhanced since mine was a 3 star huh Btw if u r new person like me you can just use your old super rocket radar the moment the new legendary rolls out and that’ll allow you to get 2 of shadow legendary, if you don’t want a dupe just save the new one you get. It is a one timer so you just have to pray for a new research that doesn’t require use of supa rocket radar

When shadow Latias was released I was doing the previous Giovanni research from a recent event. Wound up with two radars. Caught Shadow Latias and saved the other. from this video I'm assuming that wont happen anymore because the new system has made it legacy.
I only started playing pokemon go in the last couple months again and have only been able to catch two shadow latias and now shadow latios. Started playing again at the wrong time it seems I would love to have a shadow mewtwo, hooh or lugia I see them everywhere in pvp

So if I use one of my two super rocket radars and battle to complete an inter egg sting development I will get the current one get the radar from that so when the new new research comes out I battle to complete the current one get the new new one get the radar from that and use them all of the shadows good enough? Sorry I’m bad at this stuff.
One thing is that I got two shadow ho oh because I was able to get The second research but I’m pretty sure is before the update so I got them in like 2020 or 2021 so I guess that’s the reason why but some is able to stack research but it’s really hard to

Just an update Daxi: I had mine stacked from silent schemes research. I.e SHADOW LATIAS. However, after just completing it by using my radar I encountered SHADOW LATIOS! Meaning you can only encounter the current legendary from Giovanni and not the previous one and still capture up to 2 (or if 1 stacked from masterwork, 3) of the same shadow legendary
It's complete bullshit that Niantic does this. It leaves the entire game up to luck at that point. If you want good IV's of a good shadow legendary, but you can't stack radars, then you're either lucky, or it sucks to be you. It's the mythical problem all over again. You get one chance to get it, so if it's IV's suck, then oh well, you're just stuck being left behind because of shitty RNG. If Niantic is going to stop you from getting multiples, then they need to guarantee good IV's, or give us a way to boost our IV's. It's utter bullshit that whether or not you get a good pokemon you can only catch once is based entirely on being lucky.
I have the misunderstood mischief special research and got the radar from that special research and without finishing the misunderstood mischief i got the new research at the start of the event. So only applies to silent schemes?
Basically, should ve used the research aka radar prior to waiting Daxi stringing us all along till too late, fortunately heard from orlthers and did the research before midnight Saturday POKIDAX FAIL!
so correct me if I'm wrong, you have to complete the silent schemes or else you will basically lose out on this legendary right now and you will still be stuck with the silent schemes research. But after we complete silent schemes, we do get the next research right? (field notes one)

😒 Or you could be one of the lucky few like my GF and have the research task bug out and have Super Rocket Radars randomly drop for you after every few rocket leaders battles. She started playing in April and has 3 Latias and a Zekrom.
Tbh I'm not too big on shadow pokemon I know they are strong to power up or whatever but it's take forever and there cp are always so low I really wanted Lugia to come back either in raids or shadow idc I just want a Lugia or zacain or zamaenta or even Rayquaza or zekrom hopefully next month they are back.. I lost my Super Rocket Radar starting Giovanni from a balloon, replied to a phonecall that wen on longer than I wanted. When I got back into the game it said "Battle can't be found" or something like that and not the radar is *Gone* 😭😭😭😭😭😭

It give me the field notes research but Erased the last Giovanni challenge (from 3 months ago) I didn’t do the last page of it but I still have the Giovanni radar in my inventory. I checked and noticed I had Looming in the Shadows. I completed it and then Field Notes appeared, which means I missed out on some 10 Giovanni chances. Wish I had known this sooner.

I just came back so I never got the Silent Schemes Task so no worries there. But I was wondering if I could hold the Rader I got from the Field Notes Team Rocket one until a new legendary comes which should be soon now complete the current Field notes and then get the new research task? So pretty much I would get 2 radars for the new legendary in October
I don’t have Latios in the Pokédex, though. However, I actually can get 2 SRRs thanks to the apex research so I can get duplicates of Rayquaza (another shadow legendary I don’t have) or something
You can also turnoff radars so you can still encounter regular encounters from the balloons. I did save a radar before Mewtwo's first non event and got 2 shadow mewtwo's because of that, since the shadow before that i did not want twice so i thought i try if i can save the radar.
@@ntl9974 You do not get pieces from grunts when you have a radar, but if you get another one from a reward (the com days passes often do reward them for example i think) you can have multiple and just hunt all leaders without needing to grind for a new radar when you got a quest
I have two Giovanni rocket radars. But haven’t been able to beat him. Did not get the new special research - the red dot showed there was new special research, but I guess it is blocked by my two incomplete beat Giovanni tasks. Ope!
Is it possible for the game to glitch and give you the new research before finishing the old one? I'm asking because I had taken a break from pokemon go for exams and when I came back, I still had silent schemes but I also got field notes. Now I have both of the radars. I didn't make it in time for Apex research so I don't have that one but I have these 2 and I haven't defeated giovanni for either of them.

I have one from misunderstood mischief, I didt claimed any rewards for it later when shadow latias came I got the silent scheme for it. Now I have 2 super rockert radars cause I completetd both of them for step 15 and step5, but I don't get any research for shadow latios.

Does this mean you can still get two of a desired mon by holding onto the previous Rocket Research? eg., If we find out that Shadow Mewtwo is next, save this weekend's Research and complete it the weekend Mewtwo returns, then use that weekend's Research before Gio changes his mon again?
yes you can still do that. the main point of the video is just that you can only have 1 of these researches at ones (except for few exceptions)

its not that complicated: You should ALWAYS use your previous research once a new one comes around. The only question is whether you will then use the new research to get a second copy of that current shadow pokemon or save it for the future.
if you save your radar once (hence if you choose not to get one shadow pokemon) it enables you tog et some other shadow pokemon in the future twice. You cant get anything more than twice (at least not with this method).
So:
Should you use your past research to get Latias? Yes. Not using it would be like throwing away a radar.
Should you use your current research to get Latias? Thats the real choice.

A tip connected to the matter : if you want to get 2 of the shadow legendary pokemon from giovanni,just save the current giovanni task and wait for the next one. Then complete the both and get 2 of the same shadow legendary pokemon. For example,i Didn't complete the silent scheme. Now there is Field notes: team go rocket task. So to get that,i first beatet Giovanni from the silence scheme super rocket radar. And got a latios instead of latias because the current encounter from giovanni is latios. So now i will complete the field notes: team go rocket and save the pass for the next giovanni pokemon. Now if i need another shadow latios,i will simply use the radar of field notes: team go rocket.

I had a radar saved from the Apex quest (along with the Apex quest still open on the step to defeat Giovanni) and it still gave me the research. I had 2 radars at once in my inventory and used 1 to catch Shadow Latios once. This must only be true in some certain situations.

I caught a Hundo Apex Shadow Lugia. But my Shadow Latios IVs were terrible.
I stacked mine and used them when shadow mewtwo was last available and got 3 of them
I never knew this I started when latias was in so luckily I didn’t miss anything special because I still got the radar and I’ll always have a spare for a 2nd shadow legendary but u saved my life thank you so much
Following up on this: I had left Silent Schemes uncompleted until yesterday to get a boosted Shadow Latios. I did not receive the next Rocket Research for Field Notes: Team Go Rocket.
I asked Niantic Support and they said we had to get the Field Notes Rocket research in July 2022 or we missed out. Happy to share screenshots as well.

I'm planning on saving mine until they announce the new shadow. If it's something good like Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, etc. I'll use my old radar, do the new quest and get another one. If it's something average, I'll get latios before it rotates out.
That's my big brain play. Giovanni rotates so infrequently, there's so many new legendarys to cycle through, and shadow Mewtwo already returned once, I'm not sure how long (if ever) it will return again.
You can also stack the radars I currently have 3 and I did receive a 4th one without having to use one but did use 1 to catch latias

Yes. How it works is that Giovanni will keep the same legendary until the event that switches it. You get the legendary at the time of catching. In the first rounds of Giovanni which were every month, you had that one month to catch the legendary or else you get next month’s. It was a rotation between the legendary birds and dogs at the time

I've got Masterwork Research Apex 3/4, Misunderstood Mischief 15/16 both of those I have a super rocket radar claimable. I also got the Field Notes: Team Go Rocket, so I didn't have to complete the other ones... But I have previously complete Silent Schemes.
If u have the new research just save the radar and when the new one comes use it and gain the new radar from research this way if a great shadow legendary comes u can have 2 of the good shadow legendary plz dax help me confirm if this strategy will work
Yes this will work i saved latias special research and when latios came I used that old radar to catch latios . After that I got latios special research, so I have 1 extra and if a good shadow legendary will come I'll use latios radar on that new Pokemon and after that I'll get another special research

There is another method to stack super radars but it is so difficult to happen i guess.This happened to me when shadow latias just came out. I completed the research and defeated Giovanni, but when i was going to have my encounter the app lag out so hard that everything just froze. So i had to restart the app but when i did it i didnt have the encounter with giovanni (it was from a balloon) nor my super radar. So i sent a message to niantic staff explaining what happened and they gave me a new super rocket radar but i already completed the research where you had to defeat giovanni so i didnt need to use the radar to finish the research. And thats how i managed to stack the super radar. I just thought it was a curious story and probably replicable but everything needs to align perfectly. Waiting for shadow mewtwo or rayquaza tho
You can actually get 1 extra catch from Giovanni by waiting until he has the new special research, then beating him with the old super rocket radar which should give you the new shadow legendary. The only problem is that you have to skip one legendary to do this once.

So are you saying for example if I don’t have any super rocket radars right now, I skip out on the latios and let’s say the next shadow legendary is something I want, I can get it twice. And if I still don’t want it I can just use a radar to get the legendary and do the new research to get the radar back and just repeat the cycle for however long it takes

You can only stack if you have a research that does NOT make you beat Giovanni to complete it. In this case, no you cannot get the current special research until you beat him.
But you can complete the one you started, get Shadow Latios, and then save the next one until there's a shadow legendary you like.

I fought Giovanni and got an okay shadow latios. I had saved a radar somehow when latias was the shadow. I purified it and it's a 93 which I plan to use for my mega. But after hearing that shadow might be good I might want to try and get another latios. Cause after that I unlocked the new research but not sure if I could try to get another shadow latios to try and get good ivs

I know I’m late but I don’t have one I started the game 2 months ago but deleted it and just got back to it 2 weeks ago and I don’t have anything like the radar the only things I have that are available it are finding your voice, mythical discovery and the new battle weekend one but none of those are it does anyone know anything about this or can help?

In the video he says (Niantic put in a fail safe from doing this) meaning it’s my first time getting the super rocket radar from the task (team go rocket). In the video you made it sound as if I don’t use this now for shadow latios , not only will I not be abled to stack for shadow mewto, I’ll miss out on both. A lot of people are still unclear on which is it , you can or you cannot save (team go rocket) radar up until mewto , beat Giovanni and get another radar again in the same season for another mewto?

Btw if u r new person like me you can just use your old super rocket radar the moment the new legendary rolls out and that’ll allow you to get 2 of shadow legendary, if you don’t want a dupe just save the new one you get. It is a one timer so you just have to pray for a new research that doesn’t require use of supa rocket radar

When shadow Latias was released I was doing the previous Giovanni research from a recent event. Wound up with two radars. Caught Shadow Latias and saved the other. from this video I'm assuming that wont happen anymore because the new system has made it legacy.
I only started playing pokemon go in the last couple months again and have only been able to catch two shadow latias and now shadow latios. Started playing again at the wrong time it seems I would love to have a shadow mewtwo, hooh or lugia I see them everywhere in pvp

So if I use one of my two super rocket radars and battle to complete an inter egg sting development I will get the current one get the radar from that so when the new new research comes out I battle to complete the current one get the new new one get the radar from that and use them all of the shadows good enough? One thing is that I got two shadow ho oh because I was able to get The second research but I’m pretty sure is before the update so I got them in like 2020 or 2021 so I guess that’s the reason why but some is able to stack research but it’s really hard to

Just an update Daxi: I had mine stacked from silent schemes research. I.e SHADOW LATIAS.
However, after just completing it by using my radar I encountered SHADOW LATIOS! Meaning you can only encounter the current legendary from Giovanni and not the previous one and still capture up to 2 (or if 1 stacked from masterwork, 3) of the same shadow legendary
If keep a task for black radar and keep until new shadow legendary and do it you’ll be able to get the other one right?
I still have the looming in the shadow research 💀

It's complete bullshit that Niantic does this. It leaves the entire game up to luck at that point. If you want good IV's of a good shadow legendary, but you can't stack radars, then you're either lucky, or it sucks to be you. It's the mythical problem all over again. You get one chance to get it, so if it's IV's suck, then oh well, you're just stuck being left behind because of shitty RNG. If Niantic is going to stop you from getting multiples, then they need to guarantee good IV's, or give us a way to boost our IV's. It's utter bullshit that whether or not you get a good pokemon you can only catch once is based entirely on being lucky.
I have the misunderstood mischief special research and got the radar from that special research and without finishing the misunderstood mischief i got the new research at the start of the event. So only applies to silent schemes?
Basically, should ve used the research aka radar prior to waiting Daxi stringing us all along till too late, fortunately heard from orlthers and did the research before midnight Saturday POKIDAX FAIL!

Tbh I'm not too big on shadow pokemon I know they are strong to power up or whatever but it's take forever and there cp are always so low I really wanted Lugia to come back either in raids or shadow idc I just want a Lugia or zacain or zamaenta or even Rayquaza or zekrom hopefully next month they are back.. I lost my Super Rocket Radar starting Giovanni from a balloon, replied to a phonecall that wen on longer than I wanted. When I got back into the game it said "Battle can't be found" or something like that and not the radar is *Gone* 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I watched this video, used my stored Giovanni radar aaaand got 15-13-14 Shadow Latios from there! And instantly removed Frustration, ofc.

But I was wondering if I could hold the Rader I got from the Field Notes Team Rocket one until a new legendary comes which should be soon now complete the current Field notes and then get the new research task? So pretty much I would get 2 radars for the new legendary in October
I don’t have Latios in the Pokédex, though. However, I actually can get 2 SRRs thanks to the apex research so I can get duplicates of Rayquaza (another shadow legendary I don’t have) or something
You can also turnoff radars so you can still encounter regular encounters from the balloons.
I did save a radar before Mewtwo's first non event and got 2 shadow mewtwo's because of that, since the shadow before that i did not want twice so i thought i try if i can save the radar.
But you can't keep stacking the regular rocket radars using this technique right?
@@ntl9974 You do not get pieces from grunts when you have a radar, but if you get another one from a reward (the com days passes often do reward them for example i think) you can have multiple and just hunt all leaders without needing to grind for a new radar when you got a quest
I have two Giovanni rocket radars. But haven’t been able to beat him. Did not get the new special research - the red dot showed there was new special research, but I guess it is blocked by my two incomplete beat Giovanni tasks. Ope!

Is it possible for the game to glitch and give you the new research before finishing the old one? I'm asking because I had taken a break from pokemon go for exams and when I came back, I still had silent schemes but I also got field notes. Now I have both of the radars. I didn't make it in time for Apex research so I don't have that one but I have these 2 and I haven't defeated giovanni for either of them.
If anybody can help its appreciated, I stopped playing for some months and now that i came back i had both the Silent Schemes one and the Field Notes, also the hoopa one that gives radar, I finished Field Notes and captured Latios, will i get the next research?
