Been waiting for this ever since the offsides on the field goal. It’s masochism Mike. That’s how we do it. It’s much easier when our team has been a joke for nearly 70 years.
I was born in the D and live in Pittsburgh now I’m 29. Been a lions fan my whole life cause their good hard working people and we’re gonna turn this thing around man I can’t wait!
Well, I’m a browns fan. I had season tickets during the Weeden/Manziel/ era. I’ve seen my browns go 1-31 and he absolutely dreadful. How did I cope with it? Alcohol, sarcastically laughing, and looking at mock drafts. And just always keeping hope that one day it would get better. If anybody feels the pain of losing, I absolutely relate.
I thought he quit the giants after they picked Daniel Jones. At this point, I would rather Mike become a lions fan. He’s already invested in them anyway.
@@AlexODO He actually "quit" when OBJ got traded...after Gettleman signed him to an extension. Everytime he tries to leave the Giants, they pull him right back.
@@dsmscenester that’s how we are with our sports teams I’m a Tottenham Hotspur fan (English soccer team btw) and no matter how much I want to give up on them they pull me back in that’s just how sports is
I basically checked out during a lot of the Patricia era, outside of wanting him to be launched out of a cannon. Now that we've got a new regime in, I'm interested once again. Actually, ever since Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia were shown the door, I regained my interest in the team.
I don't feel like I have a choice. As long as I watch sports, the Detroit sports teams are my teams. You just hope against hope that one day they'll figure this shit out.
Hey Mike! I know you won't read this, but it's here anyway. My advice for dealing with losing franchise that don't give a flip about winning: Personally, I just stopped caring. I don't pay for games or gear for the Lions or Michigan Football. If the Lions win, "Okay". If the Lions Lose, "Who cares? Nothing new. Seen it before". I look at the Lions the same way that I look at Wolverines Football. if they don't care enough to put out a winner for my city or state, then why should I weep over their ineptitude? I don't go out and root for other franchises. They're still my home teams, but I'm just not emotionally vested. Until such time as they can show me that they are serious about winning and can win playoff games in the first round and beyond, I am indifferent. It is the pragmatic way to preserve my sanity from teams that profit from a long tradition of losing and being OSU's rag doll for 20 years. That's how I cope. It may not work for you, but it's my solution and has worked pretty darned well.
Step #1.) Be dead inside. Step #2.) Realize the NFL is corporatized trash compared to the vastly superior college football. Step #3.) Only watch Lions games when you're hungover from a Saturday of college football with the volume low and only barely pay attention. Step #4.) Realize the Lions are literally cursed and unless there is new ownership nothing will change. Nothing. Step #5.) Actively root against the Lions, you'll be right most of the time when they suck. Bet against them even. Step #6.) Start actively wishing the Lions get shipped off to another hell hole city, Detroit has enough to be ashamed about without the Lions. Step #7.) Openly mock the idiots who actually pay to go see the Lions shit themselves at Ford Field, they all have Stockholm Syndrome. Step #8.) Just stop watching, life is short and shitty NFL teams aren't worth your time.
The college product is not superior to the NFL. Most college games are unwatchable imo outside of the emotional attachment to a school or to scout NFL talent. College football kind of sucks.
Most of what you said is correct but college football is definitely not a superior product. College teams maybe play 3 meaningful games a year and the rest of the games are unwatchable blowouts.
I think Lions fans grow up believing their team will always let them down or get screwed by the NFL. Fathers watch them every week with their young sons and educate them about all of the wasted seasons, terrible calls, collapses, and plain bad football they’ve endured over the years. So Lions fans grow up loving their team, loving watching that team with their friends and family, and expecting them to have their season end in disaster each year. It’s all Lions fans know. Like Mike said, the Giants haven’t been this bad for this long in almost 50 years. They won a Super Bowl in each of the next 4 decades and had plenty of good teams and great players in that time span. Giants fans of almost every age grew up watching them win a Super Bowl and the Giants have never been bad for long enough for fathers to pass down their suffering to their sons. There is no remedy for this pain. It’s either feel this way until the Giants get it together again or the worst feeling any fan can have slowly replaces your rage. Apathy. The Giants will never be lovable losers. They’ve won 4 Super Bowls and play for New York fans. Even New Yorkers have their limits on how long they can be enraged by their team. Eventually they will stop caring and that is the worst possible outcome in sports.
Mike the reason lions fans put up with this is because we live in Michigan there isn’t anything to do after our team loses mike you’re a New Yorker you can just go to Times Square to forget about the game we don’t have that option when the summer is over here in Michigan we don’t really have much to do because there isn’t anything to do once summer ends
How I cope with being a lions fan: I expect them to lose, any other outcome is a pleasant surprise. Oh, also alcohol.
Lions games are more like support groups for Detroit's disenfranchised. Binge drinking beer in plastic cups and talking trash
Lots of alcohol
They wonder why opiate/opioid abuse is so bad in Michigan 🤔

How are you feeling about the team now? You've got a really decent chance of a playoff run.
Kenny G is missing Matt Stafford throwing him the ball after 2 games with the Giants
Yep. He went to chase money and now he’s gonna have an irrelevant career
Kenny G should have thought about signing with a team who has a Good QB and not the Money.

Kenny golladay yelling at daniel jones "you need to give me the ball like stafford... cut this idiot I want yall to trade for stafford!!!!" 😂😂
I cope with the Lions by Rooting for other NFL Teams and players that I like. Especially Super Bowl Contenders.
Start drinking heavily on sundays and start doing shots when the blow out comes !😂
Wow I had no idea the giants were that bad 18 and 48!?! Damn mikey you deserve better

Wtf happened at 1:15
yea i would like to know.
David started playing the Giants fight song
Does Matt Patricia's ghost live in the N. Y. Giants locker room ! That was a Lions like loss. Damn ! Sorry about that Mike.
Drinking and enjoying the party everything but the football!
And Bob Quinn's ghost is on the giants sideline!
Endure another 10 years of losing, and let downs and the answer to how we deal with it will bestow itself upon you
More like another 50 🤣
