Ben Johnson is not going to judge Williams on what he does or doesn't do in a single game, especially given the craziness and dysfunction he has had to deal with as a rookie QB. The kid has that shell shocked look on his face. Ben knows the guy's potential. He also knows the roster is better than the record and as for the front-office being a mess, they give their head coaches every chance to succeed, don't interfere with the on-the-field product, and don't make stupid comments in the press. You want a messed up owner? Look no further than Carolina, a job Ben turned down because he knew better. Chicago is a tempting landing spot because they have a young QB, a ready-made defense, and Ben knows the division.
I think Doug is way off. He is too focused on the players. I agree with the other guy. Ben knows that a strong, aligned front office is the key to winning. You must have solid ownership that has patience and will back the head coach and GM's vision during tough stretches. Personally, I don't want to face Ben as the coach of another NFC team, let alone one in our division. I think a great spot for Ben is Jacksonville. Good owner and established quarterback. Ben is very smart. He will see everything, which is why he won't go to Chicago.
The obvious scenario not being talked about is this: if Johnson is as smart as people say he is he should know Campbell’s style has a shelf life. If he loves Detroit just wait it out and take over for Campbell when he gets fired.
@@michaelcarver7693how so? The lions are winning In spite of Campbell, not because of him. And they definitely aren’t winning this year. Then goffs contract becomes an issue. Campbell will be gone within 5 years. Bookmark it.
Everyone thinks Ben Johnson will go to Chicago next year, and everyone thinks Aaron Glenn will go to the Jets or the Saints. I would not be surprised if Aaron Glenn is the Bears' head coach next year. Screenshot this comment.
They won't do that. He will leave after this year imo, but it won't be Chicago. Karsch is wrong. More money at some point outweighs loyalty to the Lions and being comfortable.
@@spencerdobkin9479he may want the HC money, but he may not want to be the HC. Being a HC involves intangibles in being a leader and a motivator. Being an OC is about the Xs and Os. Note that Ben Johnson has a computer science education, along with a background in football. He’s the nerd who urges to make the awesome algorithm and see it work in the real world. He’s adapted this mindset to offensive football. A guy like Dan Campbell, by contrast, is the King Leonidas type. Does the computer nerd football guy want to be that?… can he be that?

Beat not stomp. We get too many injuries when stomping!
Doug I don't know what you're smoking but I'll take some. Keng is on the money

I don't think he'd want to face the Lions twice a year either. Besides, Lions know his playbook.
This dude is a clown

That's just stupid 😂😂😂😂😂

The GM is more important than the team. No sense going somewhere where the front office is bad.
Ben isn’t going to any team where he can’t bring our assistant GM Ray Agnew and have an owner who is good(unlike McCasky

And. Don't forget. Everyone thought both AG and BJ would leave last year, yet here they are.
@ so true
Pay Ben Johnson like a head coach and he'll stay here lol

And Detroit is not getting to the SB let alone winning it this year and then the downfall starts
lol suuuuure. The best roster in football. This is Campbell's offense he promoted Ben. But the media acts like Ben just appeared out of nowhere
He promoted him but it sure the hell isn’t his offense. And no they don’t have the best roster. Defense is paper thin.
