Holding nothing back, a fiery Valenti confirmed he was the reason the Lions won’t broadcast on 97.1 The Ticket past 2016. “I’ll own it,” he said. “Fine by me, this is an organization that has tried to go after me for a decade.”

Looking back on this; not only did the Lions fail to bring down Mike, they failed by continuing their losing traditions and are still a terrible organization to this day. Call 'em out. Every damn time call them out.

This didn't age so well
I think Shiela taking over is a big part in why they came back. She seems like a way more competent owner and hired people who knew what they’re doing. And she made the smart decision to come back to 97.1 and I think try to make amends with the station and Mike.
I've been a Lions fan since 1981 it's alway's been the same losing Lions. Every year I hope this is the year. Thanks Mike for the truth. People need to be introduced to their mistakes.
Kudos to you for speaking the truth . Do the Lions realize how many of their best and most faithful fans have died waiting for them to compete for a super bowl ? Do they care probably not . My Dad was one of those fans . My Dad was a season ticket holder back at tiger stadium a die hard fan and the Lions failed him miserably . So when you talk about the Lions you speak the truth . The Lions do not deserve the fans of Detroit.

I just don't like how they screwed the fans over by moving the game broadcasts to AM radio over this. They should be more worried about the team and the quality of the players than over what Mike Valenti is saying about them... If they would improve the team Valenti wouldn't be ripping them.
Fast forward five years... the Lions are still a joke... and I still listen to 97.1 every day. The Ticket made the right move.
We remember when they were escorting people out for Fire Millen shirts. Lol... Then Mire Fillen shirts, your gone too! Censorship as if we don’t they Suck already.

Mike was absolutely correct. It was petty of the Lions to expect the station that carries their broadcasting rights to also double as their Minstry of Propaganda. Constructive and critical journalism can not suffer just because we happen to carry your games on Sunday ! If you don't want to be criticized, WIN GAMES !
I don't agree with a lot of what Mike says, but I absolutely agree with this. Worry about the product and not the naysayers.
so.....5 yrs later Terry is retired and sorely missed! and Mike is now doing Game Day Un-censored, has a podcast, radio show killing it during a tough no sports pandemic and the Lions are, well......rebuilding once again after another failed regime. Good Riddance QuinTricia

Last year blew a 18 point lead to settle for a tie, this past sunday blew a 17 point lead and lose.

The only reason I'm posting now is because I needed to say this : SELL THE TEAM FORD FAMILY. I know that you stand to make more money from taxes if you still own the team when Martha passes away. I understand. But you are one of the richest families in the world, even without including the team. Doesn't this whole thing hurt your pride? Or are you all so obsessed with money that you don't even care? You do understand that you can't take that money with you when you die right? This is a joke. For all the losers who call out Mike for being a Giants fan...he honestly has more passion about getting a winning team in Detroit than diehard Lions fans. Mike wants a winner here.
