When they were 5-11, 7-9, 9-7...nobody cared because those records don't help you get better via the draft (in general.) The Red Wings and The Pistons both had terrible seasons where if they were in the NFL they'd have had a top 3 pick...even #1. But instead they got screwed by The Lottery systems of the NHL and NBA. The NFL "encourages" tanking for the bad teams without actually encouraging it, but everyone knows how it works so everyone knows "what to do." Mike's POV doesn't make him a "bad fan" it shows how much he actually does care. The Giants and The Jets both really screwed themselves by winning...heck other teams that started terrible and improved like The Packers, The Vikings, Da Bears, and The Broncos all could have done more for their teams by staying bad and getting better draft positions.
