lol both sound the same to me
Bro I LOVE your videos thank you for everything that you do for us producers. Make an AKAI APC 64 video next!!
I'm listening straight out the box and I honestly like the feel of the 3 over the four. Maybe it's me but the 4 sounds like a one size fits all type sound and feel, while the 3 seems to offer more freedom. But that's me. I'm going based on what I like. I would tell musicians and producers to rock with the 3 and podcast host etc, to try the four out. Sounds better without music bedded in the background. Great vid man.
Factz
Facts!
I recently upgrade from a I-solo 1st gen to a 2i2 3d gen and I am very much pleased don't need bells and whistles yet.
Hi. I also use the first gen. How is the noise differences. And what are the main improvements that you see. Thanks
i would have liked to see what the difference in the "Air" control. I have the 3rd gen now and i love it. i also still have my 2nd gen solo and you can not only hear the difference between those but feel it. I still use my 2nd gen solo for back ground vocals or track in an instrument from time to time. it all boils down to preference. with being said, even tho i just upgraded to the 3nd gen 2i2 i will be getting the 4i4 4th Gen.
I Love zZSounds, because of You !!
I bought the 3rd Gen cuz of you.. and they happily took it back and I got a 4th Gen
and I'm just having issues recording what I want how I want.. I hate ASIO !!!
I want to record MIDI and USB audio direct from my MODX, and I just want to listen to the Focus for playback.. and I'm having trouble
maybe I need a USB Mixer ??
This should be good - I really like the features of the new model. Let's see if there is a sonic difference 🙏
Hi
I listened to your recordings with AKG 712 Pro headphones. To turn off the room...
The 4 gen is clearer and more transparent than the 3 gen and has more room for improvement.
Especially more detailed in the speech spectrum... This also makes it seem a little louder.
The highs are also significantly more pronounced, but not disturbingly exaggerated...more Clean
I find it interesting that in 3-gen the bass seems buzzy, and in 4-gen it is much cleaner, crisper...
This probably won't be audible over 5 inch speakers, but with a subwoofer I think it could be noticeable...
At least with good neutral - linear headphones it's very audible, including the difference in bass... I
Actually wouldn't have thought that... but that proves it the
The 4-gen amplifier is a different class, even if the lowest frequency response of 20Hz is the same for both.
Thanks for your test...
Best regards
Actual test of units begins at 4:00 in. 😎 I hear very little to no difference, except for the music comparison, 4th gen sounded a little crisper. I have the 3rd gen, using it while waiting for news on if my PerSonus Studio 68c can be repaired, 3 of the 4 inputs stopped producing enough gain for useable audio. Since my Studio 68c was out of warranty PerSonus would do nothing for me. I called my go to music and instrument store in Pittsburgh and one of their technicians is checking it out now.
I thought the same, couldn’t tell on the vocal but on the beat, it’s like the clarity was dialled up on the 4th gen, noticeable but is it enough 🤷♂️
Is it worth to add 30% to 4th gen? I can see they changed the input also?
Hi. This or audient id14 mk2?
I can hear the difference. More detail of the beat on the 4th. That beat hot as hell I'd kill that jawn💯
I returned my 2i2 4th gen and got the Presonus Iostation 24c. The best decision ever 🔥 the 2i2 4th gen is an ok interface but nothing amazing and for me it wasn't the best decision to keep it. Now my Iostation 24c got me all hyped up once I plugged it in 🔥🔥 amazing interface.
The 4th gen sounds muffled. Filters out to much of the highs sounds to contained choking the sound. The 3rd is a lot more pronounced it gives the recording a little bit more space to breath.
I have both. So far, I just tested the output, and the 3rd generation is louder and clearer.
4th Generation seems to have more expression in the mid and high mid frequency
Yep, it feels the same on my speakers.
Bolo need your help with niko's midi pack
goat vid
The 3th generation have more bass and it's because the bass boost of the Cirrus Logic CS4272, the signature sound of this chip is present from Focusrite Saffire to 3th generation Scarletts. The 4th generation have more clarity on highs and a more relaxed sound but without that bass boost of the 3th generation. Both sounds great and have different applications. Thanks for the test!
If you are going to buy it, which one you wold choose 3rd or 4t gen ?
Thank you for the video, cheers from Brazil, for the record in my language the word "bolo" means sweet cake,😂😂😂
Thank you Bro, i love your videos!
4th gen sounds more crisp. It seems to cut down on a bunch of extra “ssssss” on the rattle and shake of the hit hats and claps. Hearing more ring on the end of the high hats than the 3rd.
Both of em can produce the same sounds with good usage of daws
they both sound the same to me, i mean i noticed a small vocal increase in that test, but other than that, nothing really jumped out, and i used the scarlett 2i2 first gen years ago too. i guess it just depends on the person, if they could do the same test, blindly. just my thought.
What interface out of all the brands around this price has the best low end for bass?
Get you a audient id4, that interface has the best neutral sound
The 4th gen sounds like it has a higher HZ in my opinion. I am still learning more about audio sound but it seemed like to me that the 3rd Gen sounded ever so slightly muddy compared to the 4th gen. I am looking for an audio interface to upgrade too for podcasts and audio engineering as I currently have the Focusrite Scarlett Solo but need another input for 2 mics, thank you for this video it helped me make a better decision on what I want to purchase🙏🙏
They sound pretty similar
that beat is crazy 🔥🔥🔥
They are surprisingly different...the Gen3 is a little boomy on the bottom; also a little muddy in the mids. They Gen4 is much cleaner with respect to clarity, and the low end is very clean, but...assuming that the inputs really are identical the Gen 4 lower frequencies seem attenuated as compared to the Gen 3
The preamps/converters are forsure upgraded
The 4 is more clear and cuts off a lil low end. The 3 hits harder to me. I would actually get the 4.
I was able to zoom in with my phone and look at the waves a lil closer. Provided that you did a good level match, there's slightly a wider presence in the Gen 4 waves. It's subtle, but wider.
they didn't even add loopback mode into the 4th generation which is a major feature that is needed, we have to use tools like voicemeeter and vb-cable because Scarlett can't get it right. From the sound comparison test, I don't hear a difference with DT 700 Pro X's on my head. There's no talk about the internal routing for this either, that's another thing I hate about my Scarlett 2i2 3rd generation, is that I can't route a different sound source to my headphones than what's playing out loud, i'd have to setup my cheap Fosi DAC and plug my headphones into a secondary device for this. Scarlett is wasting their time on stuff that isn't helping. Loopback mode is VERY important so we don't have to use 3rd party tools to route live youtube -> FL Studio. Audient is the way to go, they supply everything needed/wanted. Imagine having to download a youtube video, convert it, and import it into FL studio. Blasphemic caveman dreams.
Wow. I swear the 3rd sounds much better to my ears
4th sounds like you next to me talking more like this what people sound like. You can make some good stuff with that in mind
4 toned some of the high end down but overall pretty much the same
Agreed. Feels like the 4th is wider and the bass feels deeper too.
4th Generation has a richer sound.
Because of you putting me on to Zzounds I recently bought the 2i2 4th gen. Coming from the 3rd Gen Solo it was a no-brainer for me.
Hearing the difference between 3rd and 4th gen 2i2s I feel like the 4th had better clarity, but it's not too substantial to me. Would I get the 4th gen if I had the 3rd gen 2i2, probably not but your milage may vary. I'm enjoying it nonetheless.
That’s awesome and zzounds has been around for years
@@e_2beatz696 Oh I know it has been. I just never heard of/ordered from there until I watched Bolo's videos.
they both sound the same to me
to make an effective side by side comparison, you need to switch back and forth in smaller intervals. You can't just play the whole song on one, and then do it on the other...
I think im sticking with my 3
Not enough to make me upgrade ijs.
👍
4th gen picked up more higher frequencies, i could hear the esses just a tadb it better, which is not an advantage because you don’t want to force yourself to use a deesser
Needed this! 🔥🔥! But put that hat in the trash 🗑️ 😆
Why?
4th gen sound clearer cleaner and lil brighter prefer the 4the gen
Listening on my iPhone, and could still instantly tell that the 4th gen is more crisp
I came here to hear what you think Bolo?
4th gen is clearer, less noisy i think and has more clarity (testing on m40x with phone)
2min ad before the test
3rd Gen sounds like it hits a little harder.
The 4th Generation Has More Presence and Clarity... Clearly Sounds Better To Me, So Yes It's Worth The Upgrade, So I Have A 3rd Generation as Well... In A Box That's Never Been Opened, ANY Interested Buyer's... Let Ah Brother Know. 😎
3rd is better, 4th sounds a little harsh
4th Generation sounds sharper and clean
💪🏾
Why people just can’t answer the question number 3rd generation
The 4th gen just doesnt do it little small upgrades that dont jump out is not a upgrade just get the clarett instead of buy 99gens just to u imulate the clarett
4th generation is defenitley better. Sounds more lively in the upper mid and high frequency bands.
4th Gen All Day
Dont upgrade its sound the same... 🤷🏿♂️ Im still using 3rd gen.
4th generation is more bass, 3rd is more compressed
WTF
od-de-o or "AUDIO"
The worst A/B test every! You lplayed ike 30 sec of audio with a long ass pause then you switched! You have to keep fresh in our heads!
Both sound the same. They did nothing much...only changed the looks of the Scarlett 2i2 and named it Scarlett 2i2 4th gen
