HELLA, lol tips for this challenge, draw big, I recommend pen cause you cant erase, waterbased markers dont bleed through... Croqis Cafe posts videos of gesture work so gesture is good, and just drawing stuff near you works well.
A tip I've learned when sketching is to not make your sketches so tight. Draw some scribbles, don't overthink every line, loosen your arm/hands, and make a TON of mistakes! I'm so exited to see your progress Baylee, I wish you the best of luck ! ❤
Magicalgiraffe hi my name is Sofia every one says I am so good at art and I should be proud of my work but when I draw or paint it makes me so depressed I used to love it so much how do I get back in the swig of things???
Sofia Guerra switch up the your artstyle, just try out some new things and mix them with your current style, or ditch your current style completely and focus on aspects you like to see in other artists their work, then make it your own by adding your own influences into it
I think others have said it already but try to loosen up, do some gesture drawings. I used to go though at least 20 pages of LARGE sheets in an hour in my figure drawing classes. There are websites that will give you a randomly generated image and only a minute or 30 seconds to draw it before it generates a new image. Also, I suggest geting out some darker lead pencils, like 8Bs. I know you have some! Lol. Good luck, can't wait to see the finished sketch book!
Yay! Holly's challenge is getting some spotlight this will make more people wanna do it. Maybe if it comes from Baylee people won't hate on her so much for making this.
Quality over quantity. You can make 100 drawings a day, or you can focus on a weak point, really analyze it and with one page fix it. If you don't care about your mental stability (this thing does probably just evolve to 'man, i gonna finish it') or spreading harmful information to younger less experienced artists, at least save the paper.
Lithetarisu, I think quality and quantity are both valuable. Sketching like mad for one month isn't going to hurt your skills. You can always revert to more thought out, time-consuming sketches after. I'm hoping this will encourage me to sketch more after the challenge, and teach me to sketch faster. So I see it as a beneficial challenge.
Sketching a lot is the only way to properly improve. Like yeah sure you might learn how to draw every little detail of, for example, a hand, if you draw it in a very detailed way once. But you will also forget all of it just as quickly and you also most likely won't be able to recreate that same hand drawing again in a day, a month or a year without reference. Want to learn how to draw a proper hand in less than a minute with no/minimal reference and all the actually important details intact? Draw it 500 times. (It's what I did. It worked.)
joshartsart you're absolutely right! You CANT "fix" a problem in one page no matter how much time you spend on it. Repetition is how you improve. This is EXACTLY how you improve. If you spend hours drawing one hand and expect to be able to draw hands perfectly from then on.... You're going to be super dissapointed 😂 sketchbooks are for quantity more than quality imo (though I have the exact same issues as Baylee with not sketching and saying you'll do it and then you don't.... And abandoning sketchbooks... Hahaha!)
Yeti In Disguise yeah I so glad Baylee took up the challenge. I feel like people ignore Holly cause she's an ass. But she really is the best ass. Wohhh that came out weird.
Pastel Witch if you really hate Holly as much as you claim, you're very lucky. I've met people who make her look like an angel. Holly is honest with everyone, but she's also very honest with herself. She doesn't try to hide her "lows" and I'm sure if most of us didn't paint the best versions of ourselves, we'd all hate each other.
Omfg I'm addicted to buying sketch books lol I have so many with only a few pages with sketches and whatnot. I think that's one main art addiction for alot of artists is either sketchbooks or art utensils like pens/pencils/markers. I give you props for doing this challenge girl lol
Sketch is that guy in the corner with his hood on at a party, who has a cup of something but never drinks it. He also clearly has a cell phone prefers to look around the room with his baggy eyes but never makes proper eye contact with people.
Whitedanger 2.0 lol well I used to think that a sketchbook was for like finished art and now I've realized that its really for sketches and practicing so do some sketches and get some inspiration and you'll get there 😄
pigknit lol thanks yeah I've actually already finished a 30 page a 60 page this year, and I'm half through one already 😁 but that's good as long as you enjoy it 😄
Alexandra Sanchez Nope, u have to try hard enough for it to be considered a sketch but not so hard to make it a masterpiece. Of course, some is going to be more loose sketches than others and thats okay because no ones petfect and it gets tiring. Also anyone can complete thos challenge if they tried just dont be too hard on yourself. I suggest for u to do the 10 sketches a day challenge thing holly did before this one for some practice (or even make that to 5 sketches a day)
I support those that want to do this challenge but don't feel discouraged if you don't have this sketchbook. Use the ones you already have or use loose sheets. If you want to keep it as close as possible to the challenge cut out or find paper that's 11"×12.5". The main point is to get into a sketching habit.
I suppose you could buy two or more smaller sketchbooks if they're easier to find. I think I might do a slim version of this, like 2 pages a day, since I keep going into a slump of nothing (I haven't been drawing for long and I'm not in the habit, pressure of trying to improve also dampens the joy). I love all the feet you drew, something about drawn feet and toes looks kinda cute.
I love your voice over/greenscreen in this video! You seem so happy and lively and bubbly!! Your videos always have something to laugh at or learn. I have a notebook full of all the tips I've gathered from you and you really help and inspire me to draw. Thank you, you're amazing❤
Eee!!!! I'm So excited for more videos like these!!! I really enjoyed watching you sketch, and it's really inspiring to see you so committed to sketching more/better/faster/more variety as I try to work on my own sketchbook. Best of luck with your 30 day challenge!
I'm really happy you're doing this challenge! I really love Holly's art and your art, and I think this is really inspiring for people that want to do this challenge. I hope you can do it! Good luck.
SKETCHING YAAAAAS! I actually used to bash out so many finished drawings that I didn't really need to sketch. Then, when I lost my confidence and realised my drawings weren't that great, and that it would be good to sketch and figure out anatomy and composition and stuff before I try the finalised thing, I started goofing up sketchbooks all over the place. I have two going right now, one for finished artwork, and one for studies, loose sketches, and thumbnails. It's the best. ❤️ sketchbooks
I think it's 70 lbs or something, so no wet media. I doubt there are any mixed media sketchbooks out there that are 600 pages because they'd be too thick and uncomfortable to use (and probably cost twice as much). You could buy three or four mixed media sketchbooks to get a total of 600 pages. I think Canson makes reasonably priced ones. :)
I really love that she's doing this sort of challenge because I always get really inspired when I watch her videos, and I've been having the same problems where I get into the habit of only making completed and colored art for RUclips. I'd like to do the challenge with her but on a smaller scale. Good luck Baylee 😁
Are you in the US? If so, Target has a comparable sketchbook, It's not as dimensionally big as this one, but it has a TON of pages...it's about 8 dollars.
oooh maybe you should make one! You can pen/pencil sketch on anything... maybe even a variety of whatever paper you can find? It would be really cool to have 300 sheets of a lot of different random stuff mixed together :O
I'm rooting for you Baylee! I go through sketching bursts that last days and then i slow down for a week. This is why it takes me two or three months to finish sketchbooks
Good luck! Inspires me to sketch even harder myself. I do already do multiple daily sketches, drawings and studies but... Maybe I can do even more. I'll keep watching to see how you continue this challenge! Once again good luck! I hope this inspires others to sketch and practice more!
These sketchbook tours are going to be like 4 hours long! I can't wait 😊 I'm tempted to this for my channel... but then again Inktober is coming.... so many sketchbooks
This is a very cool challenge! I'm interested to see the progress throughout the month. It looks like you're already off to an awesome start! I think this might inspire me to try a similar sketching challenge 🙂
i have seen a great post on Instagram and thought that you maybe could do the challenge its called the "paint yourself like you paint your art challenge" if you like the idea as i do like so that Baylee sees it :D
Pastel Witch if you have Instagram go to "koteminari"s account and look through (its the 36th post with her face) read through her comment (so that you have an idea of what i mean) :)
That sounds like an amazing yet daunting challenge! I've been wanting to get back to sketching/drawing again but I feel this would be WAY beyond my confidence levels. The very best of luck to you.
Baylee this is such a cool idea! I want to participate but I just started my college classes and I am afraid of dedicating too much time to art and hurting myself, so I think I'll try this after classes end. I really respect you for doing this! Honestly 20 pages a day sounds like WAY TOO MANY, but if you're confident then you can do it! Don't forget, however, to take a break if you need one. Everyone has a day or two (or more) in a month that they just need to stop, breathe, and relax a little. No one's going to be mad if you finish a few days late if it means you can get some R&R time in. I'm really looking forward to the end flip through, your art is going to improve so much!
The idea is great. It's challenging and I wish you to make it! Fill this huge sketchbook and don't forget to post videos just like this one - love seeing people drawing)
Joy Goble I hate the way it is now. I wish they'd bother to fix their algorithm instead of updating everything as soon as we figure out all the changes!
Oh my! Baylee, when you're done with the challenge, and you've hopefully succeeded, could you take your favorite/the most interesting ones and do a kinda finalized art piece? I think that would be really cool, cuz then you could include the stuff you've learned during this challenge❤️🤷♀️
Baylee, I'm awed that you are committing to doing this. Good Luck. And thank you for sharing with us, too. You make me want to do some of the things I keep telling myself to do also. Looking forward to seeing more sketches, and more regular videos, too. Your videos are always so much fun. :)
I think I want to try and do this, maybe not right now since I'm just starting school, but definitely soon. I think it will help me improve a lot. Good luck Baylee!!!!
Dammit, not you too. I'm a firm believer in quality over quantity. Even if you fill 100 pages a day, but make the same mistakes and stress yourself to get to the page count, you won't get better. Just really focus on your weak points and try to improve without the stress of falling behind and one page a day will be more than enough. I can't even imagine how harmful this challenge could be to a person. Especially to a young and impressionable person.
Actually, this challenge is quite optimal, since the point of the challenge is to train yourself to sketch faster (which is very important to artists) while also honing your skills of composing objects in the page. The people that don't improve and keep doing the same mistakes aren't doing the challenge correctly.
I feel like this challenge is a "good intentions, poor execution" kind of thing. Like, it seems like a challenge where it's easy to burn out after a week, or even a few days. You may run out of ideas, or, like you said, you may get into a rut of doing the same things/mistakes all the time. This seems like the kind of thing where you'd have to make really fast sketches (which is good for coming up with ideas), but it doesn't really yield an opportunity for intense, detailed looking and studying, which is important for anatomy and things like that. This challenge is probably best for someone who has access to a lot of reference books, and can just flip to a page to get inspiration and ideas. But the Internet has plenty of resources like that, too. (I save images of animals and fashion designs on my computer, and I make sketches of them sometimes. But not 20 pages worth!! lol) I also do the math in my head. Let's say it takes 30 minutes to fill a page (I dunno, that sounds alright for fast drawing). times 20 is 10 hours!! If you want to cut it down to 10-20 minutes a page, then you may only be able to do one big semi-detailed drawing or a lot of messy contour sketches. Which, again, is good for short-term idea generating, but not so much for long-term solidifying of concepts and structures and whatnot. But hey, I guess it takes a certain kind of willpower and opportunity to put aside a lot of time for this. Not for everyone, but I get it. The most I could probably do would be 5 pages per day... but wow that was a long rant. ~v~;;
if you suck at art it doesn't matter if you spend 100 hours on a drawing, it will still suck. the only way to get better is to draw a lot, which is what this challenge is about. if 600 pages is too much, make it 300 pages, it doesn't really matter. the idea behind it, drawing a lot everyday, is still the same
completely disagree. this is like saying playing more on the piano won't help you, will give you more stress and won't make you better and that sitting down and fixing all your mistakes in one sitting is more valuable (any piano players like me will know that is not true). If we could sit down and analyze our mistakes in one sitting to draw better, anyone would be a pro artist. The thing that scares some people from becoming better at drawing is the fact you have to practice so so so much to even improve a teeny bit. If someone doesn't improve from this challenge, then they are doing it wrong. In fact I feel like this challenge is so beneficial, because it makes you set aside a separate time to just sit down and draw, not worrying about colour and finelining. It also would teach you to take art less seriously,to draw looser, and draw faster. If a person keeps making a mistake in a drawing and doesn't fix it in this challenge,he won't ever fix it. Space between drawing and amount of drawing shouldn't make a person neglect his mistakes. if anything, this challenge would make someone fix their mistakes as they progressively start seeing the mistakes in more drawings. And the burnout?wouldn't the lack of ideas happen anyway at that amount of drawing without this challenge? A burnout isn't like a idea counter where you have 15 ideas and once those are used up you have an art block. If you have an art block you can still draw. you can draw stuff you know you need to draw more and improve on. not every drawing has to be an elaborate thought up masterpiece.
You should make a jar of sketch ideas and just draw some topics out of it every once in awhile. Make it a surprise for you sometimes. I can't wait to see the next video!
For the last year I have been playing around with different sketchbooks. I have found I like mixed media ones that can handle alcohol marker and inks. This has helped me practice those mediums a lot more because instead of a lot of loose sheets best for finished works I can experiment with not only sketches but with ink and alcohol marker too.
oh i'm so excited to see how this progresses!! i also just wanted to say, if you're not up to doing all 20 pages each day, that's okay!! even if you fill it half way, that's a fantastic improvement. i don't want you pressuring yourself so much that you don't find it fun anymore, you know? good luck !!!
You're insane!!! I say that 100% in love. Haha I'm seriously having an anxiety attack at the thought of having to do 20 pages a day, but I admire you so much for stepping up to this challenge and can't wait to see your results! ❤️
So many things of what you said apply to me! Whenever I talk about something I'm going to draw, it rarely happens! Especially if I start telling people about it. It's like I jinx it. So I try not to tell people what my plans are in regards to art and only talk about what I did already. Takes so much pressure of my mind. I also feel you in regards to hording sketchbooks and art supplies. I'm now telling myself I can't buy new things until I finish the ones I have. About drawing with less details and more often: I too think that it helps doing a more intensive challenge. The one that got me going for a while was Inktober. What also helped was planning a certain number of drawings in the same theme (say 30 buildings, 30 children, 30 trees, 30 hats...). I think all we need to get into the habit of drawing is just simple pen/pencil and paper..copy paper will do just fine. I don't know if you heard of schoolism.com, but those classes also helped me because they give homework. I am not in any way associated with them, just like what they do :) Good luck with the challenge and keep going ^_^
I love that you're also doing this challenge! And i also love your Pusheen sweater :D question will you do a flip through of the sketchbook at the end regardless if you've completed the challenge or not?
I love that you're doing this challenge! It's so fun to see more people sketching!😀💕 I actually have a 600 page sketchbook too, I bought it a year ago, it's just sitting on my desk and thinking of starting on the challenge soon. I need to get my art better man 😰
Yayyyyy! Congratulations on starting this challenge and don't give up! Remember that everything counts! When I got bored I'd even do leaf rubbings outside and painting in my sketchbook with food like raspberries and coffee! (As a fellow Canadian: STUPID AMAZON! grrrrrrr) 😂
I am so excited to see what happens with this challenge!! It will be really cool to see your improvement from the first pages to the last pages :D I am sure that it will be great so good luck from me :) !!
Yikes! That is indeed a true challenge! Good luck! What is that first anatomy book you used? I couldn't catch it. ~I'm also a big sketchbook hoarder. You should do a sketchbook hoard video!
I am so excited about this challenge 💃💃💃 how much time does it take u to sketch 20 pages? and do u just sit down and "force yourself" to sketch 20 pages at once? or are u sketching during the day? 😃
Hey! I've been really into art (especially recently) and have gotten super inspired by your videos. I was wondering what are the reference books you used in this video, and/or what are your favorite reference books for anatomy and possibly general landscape-y/nature-y stuff? (Or anything for a partial beginner...)
HELLA, lol tips for this challenge, draw big, I recommend pen cause you cant erase, waterbased markers dont bleed through... Croqis Cafe posts videos of gesture work so gesture is good, and just drawing stuff near you works well.
H.C.Brown i'm cheering for both of you. good luck!!!!
Holly! Hiiiiii I love your content!
H.C.Brown omg Hi I love your videos xD
H.C.Brown you have amazing vids!
omg I can't believe I find you here. I love your vids, you're amazing
I love this brand of sketchbooks! I SUPER BELIEVE IN YOU BAYLS YOU GOT THIS!!
HulloAlice I love your videos
A tip I've learned when sketching is to not make your sketches so tight. Draw some scribbles, don't overthink every line, loosen your arm/hands, and make a TON of mistakes! I'm so exited to see your progress Baylee, I wish you the best of luck ! ❤
Thats really interesting and true! :)
Magicalgiraffe exactly, what usually helps me come up with ideas Is doodling on cheap printer paper instead of my sketchbook :D
Magicalgiraffe hi my name is Sofia every one says I am so good at art and I should be proud of my work but when I draw or paint it makes me so depressed I used to love it so much how do I get back in the swig of things???

Baylee Jae Congratulations Baylee! I knew you were amazing but I couldn't even imagine even You could do month long challenge within a day. :D :D :D

NOODLE shut up MOM you dont know what REAL art is
Baylee Jae ur a sketchbook hoarder don't worry tho so am I and hc brown
I love Holly Brown, and it is really cool to see a big RUclips artist participate in one of her challenges! Good luck to you!

Rachel B do you know what these sites are called, or what terms I should search to find them?
Just search drawing reference generator. One is reference.sketchdaily.net and another one is quickposes.com but there are lots.
Yay! Holly's challenge is getting some spotlight this will make more people wanna do it. Maybe if it comes from Baylee people won't hate on her so much for making this.
Momo Pafu nope, still hate it.

Only Holly would create such a vigorous challenge like this lol.
Yeti In Disguise yeah I so glad Baylee took up the challenge. I feel like people ignore Holly cause she's an ass. But she really is the best ass. Wohhh that came out weird.
Yeti In Disguise she didnt make this challenge other animators did.
Pastel Witch Maybe you hate Holly because you're ideologically biased, and Holly is too real for your fucking feelings. Sounds like a you problem.
Pastel Witch
if you really hate Holly as much as you claim, you're very lucky. I've met people who make her look like an angel. Holly is honest with everyone, but she's also very honest with herself. Goodluck with this challenge Baylee! It would be pretty epic to finish that thing off in a month!

The word sketch doesn't sound real anymore after watching this
Emma Torode too true. What is sketch?
Sketch is that guy in the corner with his hood on at a party, who has a cup of something but never drinks it. He also clearly has a cell phone prefers to look around the room with his baggy eyes but never makes proper eye contact with people.
None of Your Business nah I think he is that brand of shoes
Emma Torode sketchers? or skechers? i have no clue lol
Maybe he's that thing that you twist the knob things to draw with then you shake to erase.
Lol it usually takes me a month or two just to finish a 60 page😂 anyone else?
EDIT: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SO MANY LIKES 😁😘
Twenty One Tae Tae's I've had my 60 pages for half a year....
A month or two for 60 pages is impressive! *gestures to pile of unfinished sketchbooks collecting dust in the corner*
Whitedanger 2.0 lol well I used to think that a sketchbook was for like finished art and now I've realized that its really for sketches and practicing so do some sketches and get some inspiration and you'll get there 😄
pigknit lol thanks yeah I've actually already finished a 30 page a 60 page this year, and I'm half through one already 😁 but that's good as long as you enjoy it 😄
Oh well, my sketchbook has lot's of circles and such so no finished art work there- :D
I don't understand how anyone could do this challengeeeeeeeeee
Spooky-spook-spook I really think I'd like to try it.
Whitedanger 2.0 Sames I just don't know if I'd be able to complete it, my attention span needs serious help
She didn't say that the drawing had to be good… so couldn't u just draw a heart and be done with the page
Alexandra Sanchez Nope, u have to try hard enough for it to be considered a sketch but not so hard to make it a masterpiece. Of course, some is going to be more loose sketches than others and thats okay because no ones petfect and it gets tiring. If you want to keep it as close as possible to the challenge cut out or find paper that's 11"×12.5". The main point is to get into a sketching habit.
Exactly! You can use smaller sketchbooks and sheets of loose paper. I got the big one for dramatic effect since I make videos, haha.
Your not alone. I'm a sketchbook hoarder too
MoZart Studio same! 😂
MoZart Studio I totally would be if I wasn't broke, i do have 3 that I have not filled though.
I've bought more sketchbooks in my life than I have completed sketches
MoZart Studio i have over 10 sketchbooks ;-;
I suppose you could buy two or more smaller sketchbooks if they're easier to find. I love all the feet you drew, something about drawn feet and toes looks kinda cute.
I considered getting two or three smaller sketchbooks, but ultimately I decided to splurge on one big book just for dramatic effect, lol.
Challenge: take a shot every time she says sketch
Jessica Te Rito
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.

I have alchohol poisoning now
Jasmine Cagurangan but you make those high heels work 🤷🏽♀️
I cant even finish 50 pages in a sketchbook
Anyone else?
Not me :)
Marit Rutjens me 😅😅
The "anyone else" ruined the hundreds of likes this would have gotten
i use up a lot of sketchbooks, maybe this one would be perfect for me
Marit Rutjens I can .....
Sketch videos are honestly so fun to watch. Don't hesitate to post because you think we will be bored because they are really awesome!!
PUSHEEN SHIRT!!!! I love it.
I love your voice over/greenscreen in this video! You seem so happy and lively and bubbly!! Your videos always have something to laugh at or learn. I have a notebook full of all the tips I've gathered from you and you really help and inspire me to draw. Thank you, you're amazing❤
Who else thought 4:56 was a pancake.
Well I don't care if you didn't but I did.
Bianca Romero-Hughes, my name is biancs tooo
Me...

Bianca Romero-Hughes wait it isn’t?😂
Eee!!!! I'm So excited for more videos like these!!! I really enjoyed watching you sketch, and it's really inspiring to see you so committed to sketching more/better/faster/more variety as I try to work on my own sketchbook. Best of luck with your 30 day challenge!
Eyyy Holly got a shout out
Pastel Witch dont like her?
Pastel Witch IDK, she's a wreck but its entertaining so I get why people wouldnt like her.
I'm really happy you're doing this challenge! I really love Holly's art and your art, and I think this is really inspiring for people that want to do this challenge. I hope you can do it! Good luck.
this would be great to have a personal study/reference book :)
How is the paper quality in this sketchbook? Would you say it's suitable for wet mediums as well as dry?
Christine Good question! I want a mixed media 600 pager!
Christine in Holly's video I think she said it can only really take water based markers, along with pencils and pens. :D
I would say it's too thin for wet media.
Ahh I see! I should've watched her video then first, thank you so much!
AHH I can't wait to see the finished result! What an incredible challenge!
Your the reason I started drawing again. You my idol. Thank you Baylee.
Joshua Kleiderlein Same thing happened to me. I found the channel while searching hair braiding tutorials last winter.
same!
I'm excited for this! It's really satisfying to watch you just sketch.
My birthday is in a week
This is a fabulous birthday gift :3
Such an insane challenge ! Wish you luck! 😘
#EarlySquad where u at also I LOVE YOU BAYLEE
hereeeeee
I really love that she's doing this sort of challenge because I always get really inspired when I watch her videos, and I've been having the same problems where I get into the habit of only making completed and colored art for RUclips. I'd like to do the challenge with her but on a smaller scale. Good luck Baylee 😁
I REALLY WANT TO DO THIS but these sketchbooks are soooo expensive.
You could buy a bunch of cheaper sketchbooks that could equal 600 pages?
Rebekah Cox I'm in Canada. It's around 40-60 for me
YellowMelle that would be really cool!
I'm rooting for you Baylee! I go through sketching bursts that last days and then i slow down for a week. This is why it takes me two or three months to finish sketchbooks
Can't wait for more of these videos (I feel like I've written this comment before 🤔)
Loving it Baylee!!! Those sketches are really great, I really like those flowers you were drawing!!! Stay awesome!!!

I think Squishy seems like a p cool guy
Zainab Naeem here squishy is 🐙
Good luck! Inspires me to sketch even harder myself. I do already do multiple daily sketches, drawings and studies but... Maybe I can do even more. I'll keep watching to see how you continue this challenge! Once again good luck! I hope this inspires others to sketch and practice more!
I'm probobly the only person who thinks this would be easy😂😂
Can you scan in the pages and make a coloring book???
Elizabeth Burt This would be a great coloring book
These sketchbook tours are going to be like 4 hours long! I can't wait 😊 I'm tempted to this for my channel... but then again Inktober is coming.... so many sketchbooks
Baylee Back at it again, posting at 12:30 am

This is a very cool challenge! I'm interested to see the progress throughout the month. It looks like you're already off to an awesome start! I think this might inspire me to try a similar sketching challenge 🙂
600 pages...ready set...SKETCH
I love this idea and look forward to the book haul as well as the videos about this challenge!
THE INTRO 😂
Good luck, lovely! I could never have the concentration to do this! You should totally do some videos on you doing the Wreck This Journal!!
i have seen a great post on Instagram and thought that you maybe could do the challenge
its called the "paint yourself like you paint your art challenge"
if you like the idea as i do like so that Baylee sees it :D
Pastel Witch if you have Instagram go to "koteminari"s account and look through (its the 36th post with her face) read through her comment (so that you have an idea of what i mean) :)
That sounds like an amazing yet daunting challenge!
I've been wanting to get back to sketching/drawing again but I feel this would be WAY beyond my confidence levels.
The very best of luck to you.
Stygianheart Try the sketchtember challenge to get started.
Didn't even realize I was early
It's not IMPOSSIBLE, it's just that we're too LAZY to do that
TaeTae you want some TeaTea? · we’re? Who said everyone was too lazy? I bet I could do it. Just say ‘I’m’ not we or we’re
Soup Malfoy YOU CAN DO THAT?!
I commented this a long ass time ago, I'm redeeming myself
The idea is great. It's challenging and I wish you to make it! Fill this huge sketchbook and don't forget to post videos just like this one - love seeing people drawing)
No views, 5 likes... Good job RUclips
Joy Goble
I hate the way it is now. I wish they'd bother to fix their algorithm instead of updating everything as soon as we figure out all the changes!
Haiyan Zhang Yeah the delay is really annoing.
Haiyan Zhang It takes 15-20 seconds in to count as a view and people like before the video starts anyways, so it's just timing nothing else
Oh my! Baylee, when you're done with the challenge, and you've hopefully succeeded, could you take your favorite/the most interesting ones and do a kinda finalized art piece? I think that would be really cool, cuz then you could include the stuff you've learned during this challenge❤️🤷♀️
That would be amazing! Great work!
Baylee, I'm awed that you are committing to doing this. Good Luck. And thank you for sharing with us, too. You make me want to do some of the things I keep telling myself to do also. Looking forward to seeing more sketches, and more regular videos, too. Your videos are always so much fun. :)
Early!!!!(can you do the 24 hour challenge?
it's so satisfying to watch you sketch baylee!!!!!
I love you bailee you're so talented Xx
I think I want to try and do this, maybe not right now since I'm just starting school, but definitely soon. I think it will help me improve a lot. Good luck Baylee!!!!
I like how like 20 people say they are first 🤔🤥 plus love your vids Baylee xx
You should do more fashion sketches! And more Victorian ball gown dresses! I love those! Your videos are great as always!
I agree. Even though I'd really like to try this challenge, I'd rather practice smart, not hard.
Actually, this challenge is quite optimal, since the point of the challenge is to train yourself to sketch faster (which is very important to artists) while also honing your skills of composing objects in the page. The people that don't improve and keep doing the same mistakes aren't doing the challenge correctly.
I feel like this challenge is a "good intentions, poor execution" kind of thing. Like, it seems like a challenge where it's easy to burn out after a week, or even a few days. You may run out of ideas, or, like you said, you may get into a rut of doing the same things/mistakes all the time. This seems like the kind of thing where you'd have to make really fast sketches (which is good for coming up with ideas), but it doesn't really yield an opportunity for intense, detailed looking and studying, which is important for anatomy and things like that.
This challenge is probably best for someone who has access to a lot of reference books, and can just flip to a page to get inspiration and ideas. But the Internet has plenty of resources like that, too. (I save images of animals and fashion designs on my computer, and I make sketches of them sometimes. But not 20 pages worth!! lol)
I also do the math in my head. Let's say it takes 30 minutes to fill a page (I dunno, that sounds alright for fast drawing). times 20 is 10 hours!! If you want to cut it down to 10-20 minutes a page, then you may only be able to do one big semi-detailed drawing or a lot of messy contour sketches. Which, again, is good for short-term idea generating, but not so much for long-term solidifying of concepts and structures and whatnot. But hey, I guess it takes a certain kind of willpower and opportunity to put aside a lot of time for this. Not for everyone, but I get it.
The most I could probably do would be 5 pages per day... but wow that was a long rant. ~v~;;
if you suck at art it doesn't matter if you spend 100 hours on a drawing, it will still suck. the only way to get better is to draw a lot, which is what this challenge is about. if 600 pages is too much, make it 300 pages, it doesn't really matter. the idea behind it, drawing a lot everyday, is still the same
completely disagree. this is like saying playing more on the piano won't help you, will give you more stress and won't make you better and that sitting down and fixing all your mistakes in one sitting is more valuable (any piano players like me will know that is not true).
First
Loved this vid! Looking forward to more. I can do a lot of things, but sketching and drawing is very much difficult!
First!!!
1434th XD
For the last year I have been playing around with different sketchbooks. I have found I like mixed media ones that can handle alcohol marker and inks. This has helped me practice those mediums a lot more because instead of a lot of loose sheets best for finished works I can experiment with not only sketches but with ink and alcohol marker too.
OMG 😳 I'm getting anxiety just thinking about filling that many pages 😂 Good luck! Can't wait to see the flip through
I love this, I could watch you sketch all day! It's very relaxing :)
Yes! I saw holly brown do it and I was waiting for other youtubers to start it!
oh i'm so excited to see how this progresses!! i also just wanted to say, if you're not up to doing all 20 pages each day, that's okay!! even if you fill it half way, that's a fantastic improvement. i don't want you pressuring yourself so much that you don't find it fun anymore, you know? good luck !!!
You're insane!!! I say that 100% in love. Haha I'm seriously having an anxiety attack at the thought of having to do 20 pages a day, but I admire you so much for stepping up to this challenge and can't wait to see your results! ❤️
I love hollys videos along with yours. Good luck!
I am not in any way associated with them, just like what they do :)
Good luck with the challenge and keep going ^_^
Good luck. I cant wait to see your progress. This makes me want to do this challege too.
(As a fellow Canadian: STUPID AMAZON! grrrrrrr) 😂
Id love to get this sketchbook but i dont think theres any places in Australia that sell it >.
I am so excited to see what happens with this challenge!! It will be really cool to see your improvement from the first pages to the last pages :D I am sure that it will be great so good luck from me :) !!
Yay! I was really hoping you'd do this challenge!
I love the timing of you putting Kiki down. It looked like you put her down into the sketchbook part of the video from the green screen.
I still haven't even finished my sketchbook, and i've been drawing in it for quite a while. Respect.
I'm not a "amazing" drawer but this makes me want to try this challenge and get into the habit of sketching! thank you Baylee!
Yay, sketch books and art book! My two favorite things!
Also I love that you will doing sketching videos!
This sound like a true challenge! Keep up the good work, I love your art
Yikes! That is indeed a true challenge! Good luck! What is that first anatomy book you used? I couldn't catch it. ~I'm also a big sketchbook hoarder. You should do a sketchbook hoard video!
Your cat isn't the only one who loves sitting on your sketches "keeping them safe"
this challenge intimidates me so - good luck
I am so excited about this challenge 💃💃💃
how much time does it take u to sketch 20 pages?
and do u just sit down and "force yourself" to sketch 20 pages at once? or are u sketching during the day? 😃
I love to see you being so devoted to something. I would try, but I think I would go insane.
Hey! I've been really into art (especially recently) and have gotten super inspired by your videos. I was wondering what are the reference books you used in this video, and/or what are your favorite reference books for anatomy and possibly general landscape-y/nature-y stuff? (Or anything for a partial beginner...)
