Pre-New 52 Clark Kent (Superman) and Lois Lane are great in DC Rebirth. The strength and familiarity of the characters is truly refreshing in an uncertain setting.

This was good. Though, kind of feel bad for Poison Ivy at the end. But it was a much needed, and very well done, story.
And for Clark, this whole thing has to be surreal. Having to get to re-know his two closest friends from before Flashpoint (stop screwing with time, Barry!).
And Super Sons 1 was great! And I'm thinking mystery Clark just might be Super Boy Prime. And may not know it.

I actually liked the relationship between Superman and Wonder Woman. It was interesting. It was something different. They were able to relate. Anyways, this storyline was excellent. It was personal and character-driven despite the life-threatening threat. They all got to know each other's past.

I loved Superman Wonder Woman though. Especially, when Clark lost his powers and she supported him through it.
@Darth Pancake Studios To me it was the only time the Superman-Wonder Woman dynamic worked. Most of the time people ship them together because "think of the super celebrity baby they would make".
But the plot was basically that, Lois ratted out Supes and he ended up placing his trust in Lois and the other leaguers because he was exposed and couldn't lead a normal life. Every other hero has a secret identity or other occupation except for Diana (when she isn't having a secret identity shoehorned in).
@Darth Pancake Studios Oh yeah, in JL they didn't know what to do with him. But in his Superman Wonderwoman stuff and during the "Truth" run, Superman lost his powers. So when he lost his powers she supported him, and literally carried him while they flew in the air. It really shows how compassionate and kind she can be.
@Darth Pancake Studios Of course, and thanks for lending an ear. It was really hard for me to warm up to Johnathan because we lost Chris and Connor Kent whom were solid characters imo

This was bloody brilliantly done!! I’m actually blown away. And people said that DC doesn’t have that great of story lines or arcs. I have to say that I think this is/was one of the best and original conceptual ideas to bring this “new” Superman a giant leap closer to being accepted and trusted as well as laying the foundation for some really great storytelling in the weeks, years to come. Bravo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Its crazy how a company can go from literal trash ( new 52 ) to putting out some of the best superhero stories from the past 10 years. Kudos DC you woke up and realized pandering doesnt sell comics but great stories do

No, it was. That's why sales tapered off and so many books got cancelled so quickly. Trust me, I read the fucking things. Some of them were quite good; but most of them weren't. And most of the good ones were cancelled.

Glad they are featuring mr oz innthis comic. After watching the superman vs nightwing video where superboy prime was briefly mentioned.
It occured to me that maybe oz is superboy prime as the time trapper. I think it kinda fits.
Can we all go back and just have a good laugh at the little story of when Batman wore a Rainbow Suit to draw attention away from Dick Grayson after his broke his arm? I am sorry but that is awesomely badass, heartwarming, and funny all at the same time.

Seeing the trinity all in shirts and jeans is the best thing ever. Especially Bruce. I don't think I've ever seen a Bruce Wayne that wasn't in a suit or a batsuit. Besides on Gotham, but we don't talk about that show.

After you've become way more excited in you videos these past few months, the old style, chill intro feels out of place in these videos. I know it's not that old, but it reminds me of your very chill videos from months ago. Maybe you should make a new one?
Also great vid, almost shed a tear when Bruce opened up to Supes and Diana about why he's so distant. It just made Batman much more grounded for me than ever, since even though Bruce was "just a man", he's done so many impossible things that others would never dream of doing, "Batman and Robin: Robin Rises" being just an example of his tenacity, guile and physical prowess.
I'm sure if Crazy Quilt saw that Batsuit a tear would fall down his eye

I might've just listened to the best Comic Explained to me.
I'm five years late, but what made Wonder Woman stand out to me is the very interesting and subtle characterization that she (at least in her very best stories) always had. She's altruistic and just but she's also not afraid to do what needs to be done to protect those around her. While Batman and Superman have their strict codes (most notably their no kill rule), Wonder Woman has always been the one to defend those around her through whatever means necessary (she is a warrior first and foremost after all). I've always found this characterization interesting because she's also always the heart of the team: the one with emotional sensibility and a special kind of compassion. It's an interesting dichotomy.
I can't wait to find the final book in this series Ivory at the other was up till Superman being possessed by Mongol but I haven't found the last book in the story arc yet. I love the way you read the story arcs he give enough to give the gist of the story without telling everything so that they're still little surprises when you actually do read the book.

It's so cool about the black mercy I knew it from the justice league series and it was mongol there as well and it was used the same way but in the JL series i never realized the reference to he comic when Batman gets superman a gift card and he's like well what do you give the man who has everything.

the reason why I liked Superman Wonder Woman relationship is because she didn't need him the way that Lois did. They chose each other as equals.
Yeah that's why it didn't work. They didn't need each other. As in, there was no reason for them to be together. So rather than making actual interesting chemistry, the writers instead made them clingy and aloof to other characters. It was quite a terrible read from start to finish.
@@blitzkriegdragon013 Dazed meant Wonder woman doesn't always need saving from Superman but that doesn't necessarily mean that there can't be certain situations where Superman ends up being saved by Wonder Woman, thus giving each other support.
@@kandiiyuutaamu they're like brother and sister tho. When they tried to force Diana in Clark or Kal life, writers just gave her Lois's personalities and her job. They have more chemistry as best friends than lovers.

Think about it, it's him and the X-Men sitting in the teachers lounge at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, then he just disappears instantly leaving behind a cloud of smoke that smells like rotten eggs, and they're all just like "Ahh, goddammit Kurt!"

Can you explain the reference? I thought it was a reference to the rings of Saturn sound from the OA show, it was suggested on the show that people supposedly travel to Saturn when they die or have NDEs.
Wally West in injustice Batman warns the president that if he angers the justice league, than the president would disappear cause no body would look for his body on Saturn.

Right. Even if everything else leading up to the trinity breaking free of the black mercy was coincidence, she has to know somethings up after breaking free then subduing Clark/Mongul.

Johnny Tek you mean the DINI-verse..... yea dude Paul Dini is the best writer in all of Comics, he and Bruce Timm were the best creative team in Comics ever. AND they were writing and drawing Superman and Batmans' actual comics while they were making Superman: The Animated Series and Batman: The Animated Series.... Nobody could write Superman or Batman better than Paul Dini. Or draw them better than Bruce Timm...... That is the Superman and Batman that defined the modern DCU as we know it and is like what the Superman and Batman of today are from, or based off of.... like I said Dini and Timm defined the modern DCU from the mid 90s to early 2000s and up. Scott Snyder is awesome on Batman and then Geoff Johns or Pete Tomasi are awesome on Superman but NOBDODY could write/do either one of them like Paul Dini. He's the best...... Justice League was awesome too yea I was thinkin about that episode when I saw that too. 'For the man who has everything' , glad somebody else was thinkin about that too ha.
mine mother hated it that WW and superman were a couple in new 52 and she doesn't read comics and she is a big fan of superman and WW. the plant does exist in pre-52. isn't harley quinn younger than bats?
