Green Lantern is the name of a number of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. They fight evil with the aid of rings that grant them a variety of extraordinary powers.
Scarecrow + yellow lantern powers = true terror
they should really make him a mainstay lantern already or give him a underling that turns into a lantern permanently

The Lanterns do not get a cave ... They should get a Lighthouse.

I really wish stuff like this happened and was more permanent. Scarecrow gets a Yellow Lantern ring, makes sense in Batman and Green Lantern mythos and makes the comics feel more whole and connected. Maybe Cheetah joins the league of assassins, or Heat Wave and Firefly team up as they're both extremely obsessed with fire.
I love how enthusiastic he is and how much you can tell he loves comics and doing these videos
Re: Batman as an intimidating presence - I would love to see another Batman movie with just an ounce of humor left in it. Nothing too silly. For example:
The audience watches obvious but small drug deal go down. Next shot, one of the guys on the corner is in a back alley, smoking a joint. He quickly finishes, turns a corner, and Batman is a few yards back in the shadows but still barely visible. Stoner pauses, makes eye contact with Bats, awkwardly points at himself as if to admit his guilt, and Bats shakes his head without breaking his gaze. Stoner counts his lucky stars as he quietly and swiftly gets the hell out of there. Bats jumps into unrelated action moments later. This scene brought to you by marijuana!

No argument there. A few years ago I had to give up beer (weird stomach issues) but when I initially thought I had to give up alcohol in general I would seriously walk around muttering "I'll burn Gotham to the ground" under my breath. No alcohol turns me into a super villain. I don't want to think about what no weed would do to me.
I really wanna know the story of why batman has a giant mechanical t-rex in the cave.

@@floogon_gameing6987 No, it is his musuem of sorts. He has collections of all the most notable moments in his life. Like the large penny in his Bat's Cave (originally what it was called). It was connected to a villain that was so awful. The creators of the guy just killed him off the first time he appeared. That villain "Penny Pilfer". He only stole pennies. Though after they ran that guy out of existence. The new story. That Penny is connected to Two-Face.
The T-Rex. The Joker used it once.

Batman thinks it's not Scarecrow, it's too big for him. It's Sinestro Corps or something similar.
Truth is they are BOTH right and BOTH wrong, meaning despite they didn't like it, they actually complement each other quite well, building up to the ending.
DUDE FINALLY YOU START READING SINESTRO COR WAR!! I first read the entire book about 4 years ago and it took me about 9 hours to read the whole thing, but I didn't appreciate it's awesomeness till just this year's after learning about all these origins and stories
The Lantern Cave would be an inter-dimensional portal inside of the refrigerator light of the Arrow Cave. No one would ever find it.

@@Ashephalt That was Injustice. Which is a totally different Universe. Green Arrow calls his little hideout...Arrow Cave...yeah he was never an original character. Even creators commented on it to. He was supposed to be "Poorer version of Batman means Robin Hood."

@@Qardo He wasn't supposed to be that, he literally was. When Green Arrow started, he was literally Robin Hood with another name. And then they added the Arrow Cave, Arrow Signal, Arrowmobile, and a young sidekick that makes you question the sexuality of the superhero in question. Question.

Blackest Night is my all time favorite comic book related story in any medium; comics, animation, movies etc.
I'm jealous of anyone that gets to read it for the first time.

Hey Rob I'm glad your enjoying GL!! Geoff Johns' run was the entire reason I got into comics.
So this takes place shortly before Bane comes to Gotham. I love the tidbit about Bats preparing for his arrival as well as him telling Simon Boz about joining him. That part was ominous.

Yes Rob, the Geoff johns green lantern stuff is the best! I'm so hyped for the videos will make on them.
Yup, it was only a matter of time before Scarecrow harnessed the ultimate power of fear. I was a bit disappointed however that it came down to such a tawdry motive. You'd think Crane would become one of the most powerful yellow lanterns ever. An arc requiring much lengthier story telling. Then again, even with such power, I doubt he could beat Batman, so maybe it's appropriate it went down like it did.
I liked this story it was short and very direct. you did a excellent job conveying the point of growth in Simon's character as a green lantern which was the main focal point. keep up the great work bro and ill keep liking and commenting on your awesome videos!

Blackest Night is even better if you can read all the singles in the order of release. The trades good, but you can miss a few scenes that are in the companion trades. Needs an Omnibus.
Brightest Day is a great follow up. More of a conclusion to Blackest Night. You are in for a treat Rob. Can't wait for the video!

Bruce:actually no you don't,I mean it would be cool if you use a lantern ring to battle a foe while simultaneously firing bullets from a distance,but you pretty much only use the gun after your defeated,which makes the gun completely useless to someone like Bane

What if the actual reason Batman is trying to help Simon is because he's afraid he might become a villain. Think about it he has a green lantern and he's relying on something else for strength. People like that are more likely to blame themselves for something they had a small part in. Which could later in turn influence his change of heart to be a villain

Simon has the gun just in case his ring loses power on a mission. That happens to Hal all the time and he never has a back up plan. Simon isn't an idiot, he recognizes that the 24 hour time limit is a serious weakness and he's taken a step to insure that he's not caught defenseless. It's not about seeing himself as less capable.

Batman "seeing through him" is just writers trying to make Simon abandon his piece.

I never understood Simon Baz's logic.
What good is his little handgun when his ring goes out and he's up against Solomon Grundy, or a Sun Eater, or Mongul? There's a plethora of powerful villains that would piss their pants laughing at his pea shooter.
Well, Solomon's powerlevel depends on the incarnation. Also GL don't always deal with bulletproof threats. The gun's not a bad idea, but for Simon it's obviously somesort of comfort blanket.

there have been multiple moments when lantern ring have failed that is why Simon carries a gun

The best Green Lantern test of will came in the 1980s GL Corp comics. Some Green Lanterns would dive into a yellow star to test their wills. If they're strong they'll come out fine, but if they waiver or weak they would die. It was really cool! Other cool facts is these issue of backstories have Alan Moore as a writer. In one of them is where Blackest Night comes from along with the Red Lanterns planet.

Actually, Simon's right for having a gun as a "last resort". The lantern rings have a finite power reserve & there's 1 thing the ring can't create in which the user can think of.....a lantern power battery.
You should cover Alan Moore's Abin Sur Blackest Night Prophecy One Shot, it's really short and a good classic story from the 80's

Rob, Scarecrow also got a Sinestro Corp ring for a second time during the Sinestro comics when the Pale Bishop attacked earth and the Sinestro Corp defended earth against him.

Its surprising to me that they havent created a story where Batman gets a yellow lantern ring, the whole thing behind his character as well as his most powerful weapon has always been fear.

I'd love it you'd keep doing BATMAN stuff that's not expressly "classic" Batdude stuff. What I mean is, the stuff that has him out in left field, like the Metal series and this one. Batman is really the only thing that keeps my interest when it come to DC,.
