From Time .26. to .28 you can see the gear riding on the nut, this will wear the bearing prematurely and the gear.

There's a bearing on the inside of the chest cover for the cam that was removed for the video. It pushes the cam into the proper position so that it isn't contacting the nut on the crankshaft during operation.
