I volunteer at The Giving House associated with my church. Everything in the house is free. I gave my 10-year-old granddaughter some summer clothes and a swimsuit, and she picked out a stuff animal. My 4-year-old granddaughter picked out a stuff animal as well. So, I saved cash on those items for the girls.
That is wonderful
That looks like a nice heavy bag. Nice find.
I haven’t been in a thrift store in over 3 months. There’s just nothing I really need right now ☺️
Same. Right now I am more inclined to donate items than acquire new ones. I think we all go through phases where we are either in a mood to acquire or a mood to give away.
Awesome bag! Looks like it will last a really long time! I'm a candle person, too. We had to hire a moving truck this week to move some things from my office to my home office, and being willing to drive the truck to a different location from the one we picked it up garnered us a significant discount. We are also in the process of shopping from our house, and we are finding all sorts of things that we can use and put back for later. Thank you, Lord! Love you, Dawn! 🥰🙏❤️
Dawn, that bag is beautiful & durable! I bet someone paid $65 for it on their last vacation... 😊
Well...in my no-spend year, I had to buy a new phone and a new washing machine...on the same day. Fortunately, I still got the advantage of Memorial Day savings on the washer. So, a $12,000+ machine was $698.The salesman gave me another $50 off, which basically covered the tax. Delivery is free. It's due to be delivered Monday. So, even though I had to spend over $1000 on one day, I still got a very frugal deal on the washing machine. (We won't talk about how much it cost me to try to repair the old one...😢. I might get some of that back by selling the parts I had to buy in that process.)
Why was I able to spend $1000 in one day? Because I've been living no-spend years for several years now. The savings add up!
Glad to see what a wonderful week you had, love! ❤
We have a store where you can donate clothes and other items and people pick out what they need. You can also swap out your donation for a free item for your self. It really helps the whole community. Enjoy Your Weekend Everyone ❤🌺
That's a great idea!
Here’s my frugal Friday: I have been cleaning and organizing since my retirement. In doing so, I’ve found things that I misplaced. It was great to find the things I already had and didn’t have to repurchase them.
Love that!
My husband does free income taxes for Seniors. And one of the couples gave us a gift card to a restaurant , even if we tell them not to.
@cecilliaperales8466. What a lovely man your husband is.
How kind
That is so awesome ! 😀
We mostly donate to a thrift store that supports a church. I don't go to their church but they are so nice and appreciative there, unlike Goodwill. I often find something cute there as well. I like that they keep things really affordable. Goodwill has had their prices go so high you could buy something new on clearance for way cheaper.
Goodwill is very overpriced nowadays.
How kind
My church has a thrift shop. Most things are $3.00 or under. All my earrings and husband's everyday wardrobe comes from there. They make about $60,000 per year after some expenses everything goes to local charities and schools. It is run by church volunteers. It is will supported by your community.
Yep, I looked at clearance today at a Walmart near my daughter, and thought the same thing. It is a shame that I didn't need any new pans as they had some at a really great clearance price with that stoneware and heavy bottom- 1/2 the regular price.
I am blessed to have several thrift shops close to me.. Several of them are non profit ones for charity so it is a win-win situation. One of the newer ones does something different than the others Aside for the great items inside the store, they have a large farm wagon beside it where they put donations that they have received but don't have room for in the store. or just don't want to sell it for whatever reason. You are welcome to look through the boxes on it and take whatever you want. I found several fiction books, cookbooks, dvds and cds, a pair of shorts for my daughter, two cute Easter figurines, a pair of curtains, and assorted things I can use to make crafts someday.
I went to my thrift store and found 5 plastic outdoor chairs in great shape for 20.00 total. I also found 3 beautiful bar stools for free that someone was giving away because they were moving! I feel blessed!❤
That is awesome!
Hi Mommy Mom. You got a great deal with the $5 beach bag, I think you would have paid $20+ if purchased for the original price.
Your daughter is so sweet in gifting you those candles. 😊 Sweet pea is one of my favorite.
I think so too!
Good reminder.I should go to the thriftstore on Tuesdays for senior day. Winter is coming
Wonderful items, Mom! I found a 1/2 gallon wide mouth Mason jar (perfect condition) at Goodwill for $2.50, they sell for $10.99 at Target. Will use it to store rice or pasta to keep it fresh and bug-free. Otherwise, our Goodwill is way overpriced for clothing, a ladies' top is $6.50! I shop at a church thrift store for clothing where adult clothing is $2.00 and all of the money goes toward feeding children over the weekends, school breaks, and summer.
Love Ya Mom, your so ace 🤙✌️✨sending you hugs, blessings, and magic 🪄 ✨
Thank you love
We went out for enjoyable frugal entertainment last night. Community events are the best. They had live music downtown. It was a band doing covers of 80s and 90s stuff.
While lots of people visited the food trucks we opted to bring a picnic. I gave an optional donation to the woman ensuring the rest rooms were clean as she works for tips only. 2 hours of fun cost $2.
That is awesome!
Great bag! It looks new. You did really well for your Free and Frugal Friday! So sweet of Caroline to give you the yummy-smelling candles. Certainly nothing free or frugal here. We're getting my sister-in-law ready to move and seem to be spending right and left. Glad we have it. Great video, as always! Love to all, Linda 💕
Thank you! You too!
That bag is great for groceries, too
You found some great stuff!
My frugality this week was cooking at home.
A co-worker also gifted me some rice cake snacks she didn't want.
They are delicious.
Have a great weekend.
I ordered two cat little boxes to replace two of the ones I have, as over time they do start looking rough and the plastic absorbs odors. But instead of throwing the old ones away, I will clean them and use them as water basins for some containers I will be doing some cuttings in. Basins hold the water better than just standing out there and constantly watering containers when it's hot. I only have to partially fill the trays that the containers are in, and it's good for a week. So that will be my savings - on water for my new cuttings of everbearing mulberry trees. If you want some fruit trees that grow fast and that the birds love, mulberries are it. Yes, the purple ones can be messy on the ground, and birds may poo them on your car, but they are delicious. Water used to be cheap. No more.
Mulberries are absolutely awesome. We planted 10 a few years ago and they just started producing. Incredible.
I just went to Dollar General and used digital coupons for NECESSARY items, and since my I spent over $25, I got to use the $5 off my total coupon.
You gotta love Aldi ❤
Love that bag
Thank you
WoW, that Beautiful lip color❣️
Thank you!!
Today I took my dad to trade in his drivers license for a regular ID because he can’t drive anymore. At the DMV they told us that because he was turning in his drivers license, it wasn’t gonna cost anything to get his ID. That was really great cause I was planning on spending $35 to get one for him. Then I took him to a library near where he lives to get a library card because there is a special day where the people that live in his retirement community can go to a buffet restaurant here in town for five dollars if they have a library card. And I took him to lunch at the Mexican restaurant near where I live and I had myself a three dollar margarita because it was three dollar Friday for margaritas. Happy Friday!
You are a sweetheart
Your tote bag is gorgeous!!!!!!!! A friend gave me some socks. And I'm trying to go to the grocery store every other week to see if that will save money
How fabulous 👌
I found a couple of wire baskets by the recycle bin....(thank you to that person) very useful. I also found a ottoman there a while back for my cats when out in the porch. I tell myself i have everything I need so that helps when I'm in the store for something specific, and wonder to look around and get steps in.
Wonderful
Got a coffee maker for $6 (my local thrift is great). Can't wait to make some yummy coffee in it.
I got some free vanilla scented tea candles at the senior center today. As you speak of paying it forward, I love going to the senior center and help serving lunch to others sitting at the tables. Momma always said we should show respect to our elders. Even though I am 65, the bulk of the clients are much older. Friday is always a big turnout due to it being a Fried Fish Friday as well as bingo day! I too feel very blessed in life. I am working on building my emergency fund back, although it feels like it is going slow. I went and looked at plants today, but I am on a "no purchase" binge until I get my emergency fund moving. Our thrift stores are too expensive, even on books.
I love this comment
Hey money mom dawn luv these videos your bargains are sweet. Luv pa 🌻🌸🌷🌹🌼✨🌟💫
Thanks so much
Got a free car inspection and oil change using points I accumulated. Yay!!
Excellent!
Nice bag! Also, the baking pan is money well spent; you home-prepare lots of meals. Just one meal pays for the cost of the pan. Candles and chips - so generous and like the consumable aspect is super.
Thank you
I ❤ free and frugal Friday! Good finds Dawn!!! 😊 Here's my freebie...
I took my FIL to the store. He was going to buy small packs of pork chops and chicken. I pointed out to him that the big pack was the same price as the small because it was on sale. He said that he could never eat that much! I told him to take out what he wants and send the rest over to his neighbor (me). I made chicken marsala yesterday and he loved it! Free always taste best to me! 😂 Free pork chops tonight! 👍
That is awesome!
You are so blessed!
I agree
That bag! Amazing find.
I think so too!
I got some free insect repellent today
We made a pot of chili this week and stored it in the freezer in ziploc bags. We do this year round for times we don't feel like cooking.
I wonder if you can review other thrift stores within driving distance.
Sure
This week's freebies, I scored a Lindt chocolate bar, Chicken flavored potato chips and a Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni meal from one grocery store. My husband also received a free drill bit from a tool shop on Facebook.
That is awesome!
I’ve been bringing in a lot of stuff lately. Thrift, freebies from an estate sale leftovers, and a church garage sale. It worries me when a lot starts coming in. I really tend towards the minimalistic, but when there’s desks that’ll save me, I can’t pass it up.
❤
I bought large peace ham hock packet split peas one carrot one onion I peace celery deliciouse six servings pea and ham soyo
No eating out this week. I’m cleaning out so didn’t bring anything in. I sold a few items. Stuck to grocery list 😊❤😊
I took extra work this week, I didn’t eat out and I got a free small carrot for my dog when I bought scallions at the farmers market.
That is awesome!
I too like Thrift Town in Richardson. I have found a few good things in there, Love your bag!
I thought I recognized you in Target Richardson one day - you were on your way out, so I didn't say anything. Next time i'll definitely say hello.
Come see me at Target today
Have a blessed weekend, Bright Eyes! 😊
Thank you love
Michaels gives teachers discounts
enjoy your Seite chips, they are so good, I buy the churro flavored ones at Costco for $5 for a huge bag, much better than other snacks. Great find with with beach tote, looks like heavy duty canvas. I saved money this week 2 ways, a $50 a fan I bought last year at Costco stopped working, returned it for a full refund, spent $17 on a new fan, no bells, no whistle basic and works great! then I used my cc points and bought an anniversary gift for dear friends, using the points cost me nothing!
Looks like a great bag!
I cooked every meal at home this week. With the inflated grocery prices, that doesn't feel especially frugal but I know eating out would have cost a lot more.
That is awesome!
It is cheaper on your health in the long run. Good for you!
Great job on the low cost meals! I didn't save much money this week, due to a broken toilet and some unexpected expenses there. Oh well, that's what our savings account is for!
Thank you so much
Loved to go to the thrift stores!
Me too!!
My mom bought me a coffee yesterday after she had met me at the ER after I wound up there after tearing my bicep muscle ( it’s painful I don’t wish this on anyone).
Ouch. I am sorry to hear this
I didn't do anything really frugal. But I did order my food from my insurance company which helps me to stay out of the grocery store....Which helps me to save my MOLLA!! 😊😊😊
insurance company?
@rusticgardenretreat4892 there is an insurance company with whom I belong too and fhe give me free food with a catalog I order from.
@@arthurmantzouris4413 Is this part of your Medicare? Or other health insurance? I just started with Medicare in May, so I am still learning.
❤❤❤❤

Hi dawn
Hi
When I put like with like, I was surprised to find I have WAY TOO MANY bags. If you have this same problem, the local foster care agencies, community colleges, and homeless shelters can use a lot of these things for their clients.
Thank you
There is little real purpose to these videos. Your daughter didn't save ...she spent $10 on candles that are not a need. However little things make life enjoyable so i get it. The bag is lovely you purchased.
Yes. There's great purpose to these videos. This is one of Dawn's side hustles, and in my opinion, it's fun!
I hope you have a nice day! 🙂
Those candles will come in handy during hurricane season in Texas. I know cause I'm in Houston Tx.
You are blessed and a blessing to all of us🙏🤗🫶
Ahh Thank you
❤
