Good to see stories about the old bush towns, my grandfather Jack Cowell was the Blacksmith, wheelwright and farrier in Stuart Town until around 1957. My father Norm Cowell and all his brothers and sisters, 8 in total were all raised there. Dad was so proud of his heritage there. One of dad's sisters Gladys married a Mumbil local Colin Hansford and lived all her life bar the last few years at Fairview Mumbil. I have great memories of visiting during my childhood. Although it has been a few years since I have been up that way I enjoyed going out to Stuart Town to see where the old Blacksmiths shop once stood.

Just posted on a similar vid that I visited this type of pub with Brit army mates back in 90s we were made very welcome no bother etc. Great memories of Aussie tanks 113,s pink final drive oil, joffle irons or toastie makers as well would call them. Hard working outback people come to mind great days. British pubs these days are largely a joke, all take little give, gone are the winter basics like roaring log fires, now it's just cold damp and new furniture and your experience is like being offered a pint in IKEA.
