We're travelling from Bourke to Birdsville, along hundreds of kilometres of dusty, muddy and rough dirt roads to visit some of Australia's most remote and iconic pubs.
Great video... just perfect for those of us that will never get to go to places like this because we don’t have the vehicles. This is the positive side of social media. Thanks 🤠
You could go via camel. My partner was a cameleer, worked for Rex Ellis, who also once owned the Birdsville pud too. It's awesome cooking off the coals, sleeping in swags, the stars are your ceiling, new country each day. Month long treks. They were the best days, I love animals and the outback though! Andrew Harper has the camels now. I'm sure he is still doing the camel treks.
Actually Rex did four wheel drive trips too. He has also written many books. He used to do boat trips too. He should be retired now but I can't imagine him stopping going out bush until the day he dies. Maybe just without tourists eventually.
Couldn't understand the first two pub owners accents so I tried the closed captions and Google had more trouble than I did, but it was good for a laugh! Reminds me of learning Glaswegian / Scottish accents. Just takes some time. Great video though, I'd love to make a drive like this, beautiful countryside and interesting people
An old Windsor boy duck living up se qld always loved you on radio as far back as Hadley's days LOL great show hopefully many more episodes to see cheers
thats true in the city your neighbours are strangers these days, city pubs these day here in uk are empty due to the stupid smoking ban & extortionate beer prices, i loved it in the old days back in the 80s when you moved onto a new estate & your neighbours came round invited you to the pub to meet everyone, within 6 months you knew everyone on the estate & in the pub, unfortunately those days are long gone now, iv been here at my new address for 18 months & i dont even know my neighbours at all .. sad tbh
Defender click bait,ya got me,and I stayed, because I love the out back too👍 Well shot film, lots of the great Australian salute at Cameron Corner,a fly or three. I haven't worked out when this was shot,if anyone has any clues???
I live in the subtropical climate of Brisbane QLD and it can get down to 5 degrees Celsius and up to 24 degrees Celsius in the winter days, summer minimum 20 degrees Celsius days up to 34 degrees Celsius humid coastal heat .so the outback town of birdsville qld on the edge of the the desert can get down to 5 degrees celcius up to to 22 during winter . Summer up to 48 degrees Celsius. Dry heat .
In general the video is good. as previously mentioned. a little excitement in the narration would be great. The thing that annoyed me is the parents. there are chains around the corner post and in plain view the kids do as they please. discipline them ffs. they are brats and just the type that will ruin the rock art etc. teach them to respect things so others can enjoy it 100+ years from now.
Nah, 9 minutes in and you're doing a Ronnie Dahl, can't hear a bloody thing. Good photography, shit sound. Shame would have liked to watch the rest of it. Invest in some microphones.
Tourists like these drive too close together in each other’s dust. Many people killed doing just this. Keep the road clear of dust between vehicles. Why drive in your mates dust all day anyway.......screams TOURIST.
I am a nature lover been to 56 lands I live in Au and reckon it is the most boring, place to travel in, bugger all to see, all dirt no clear running streams, all you do is feed 200 bucks of diesel into your tank every day
The way he talks hahahha🤣🤣😂
outstanding video
Been there; done that; loved every minute of it.
Quality effort. Well done.

I did Bourke to Birdsville, Innnamincka, and onward to Croydon and Normanton in 2005.
Couldn't understand the first two pub owners accents so I tried the closed captions and Google had more trouble than I did, but it was good for a laugh!
Reminds me of learning Glaswegian / Scottish accents. Just takes some time.

The beer taste better out there.🍺

Fantastic narration mate 👍
Good stuff Pat
Did that trip 20 years ago mate of mine had a station at Wanarring
besides the states australia is one of the few countries that has a big time "roadtrip" culture.

I haven't worked out when this was shot,if anyone has any clues???
Get up every morning to Redgum in this cold wet england wishing i was there
its so flat
Did this trek with a Navara and swag. Starlight sleeps. Nothing like it out there.
That first pub looks like the one in the Carlsberg ad I can see the pub from here!
Wonderful video, Thanks
He spoke about a bridge ? lol Great video but quoting Burke & Wills is a stretch.
Gee it’s been a while since I saw a green pastured outback town like Fords Bridge
Didnt mention the bakery's chicken night, that's to die for.
I was curious what the evening / night temperatures were as I saw people in winter coats and tuques (wool hats). Seems funny to a Canadian :)

Total magic Congratulations But Did U see many 5th wheels out there
did Birdsville to Innamincka solo on a DR 650, yep, very remote
Peter Thompson fords bridge. not Pete Armstrong. absolutely a legend
Wow, $128.8 cents per litre for diesel 6 years ago (14:39).
Maybe I'm old but I remember when it was under $1 🥲

Bạn có thể cho tôi biết nơi này ở chỗ nào AUstralia vậy. Tôi có thể đến thăm quan du lịch được không.xin hãy cho tôi địa chỉ. Thanks
No problem with lock ins outback
RIP Fenn
never, ever pass an outback pub. If you don't use it you could lose it then what!! Even if it's only one and a stubby to go, USE IT
Totally agree with you, keep the legends of the outback going.
37:18 even his girlfriend looks bored listening to this bloke talk lol
This is like watching paint dry. Who is this fucken moron??????????????????????
Narration not good then I’m not watching 😤don’t want to go to sleep ....thank you
@@mjjacobsen7529 the narration is cool providing you dont mind it playing at 33 1/3 like the old LP records
Dave 😂lol
Nothing wrong with being calm and at peace who needs a jerked up overexcited narrator
Lawson should have stayed in Sydney!
Maps belong on the bonnet. Are you an aussie cheers Adam
flies and Aussies goes together well

Would have been much better if you showed the route you planned to take
This standard of stuff threatens to jettison far northern tourism back into pre-Henry Lawson realms...
Did you upset your missus?
A response to a comment made at about 9:40. Does not Australia try to control and document what and who comes into their country??????
Make
Australia
Great
Again
does this bloke need a happy pill or what?
Toyotas are the best
Is that near where the baby 8 the dingo LOL
Dude. Are you describing an amazing 4wd journey or how to work out a 8x8 matrices?
Sorry to clarify, I mean you sound about as inspired as a fish describing global warming
Nah, 9 minutes in and you're doing a Ronnie Dahl, can't hear a bloody thing. Good photography, shit sound. Shame would have liked to watch the rest of it. Invest in some microphones.
You sound like Hamilton from Vice, and he is that boring that you fall asleep
Too mny adds

lovely episode, but geez old mate is boring to listen to...would of loved Pat to cover this episode
Great video, scenery and destinations but your commentary is soooo bloody boring and droll.
WTF... Plastic glasses?
Too many adds. Lost interest

Fuck me how about a bit of enthusiasm?
I think pat should shut his mouth and keep quiet. See he thinks we need to get special 4wd license to drive in Australia now
Yawn fest
