There are around 10 tokay in our house. They're aggressive. We just let them, they eat bugs and roaches. Hardly seen any roaches now maybe 1 or 2 in a month 😅
@@mrarivv0007 Philippines. Yup cockroaches are everywhere, but you will seldom see them when you have a tokay in your house. I've noticed i hardly see them in rural areas like in mountainous and farm area. Maybe due to natural predators
This habitat gets huge ratings too! So well done. The cork and live plants make for an enclosure in which this animal seems truly confident and at home.
Do you have any videos making your truly great enclosure. I've got two lepards geckos and sure could use some 💡 ideas. There so long is becoming a problem as rhet r starting to fight. What gallon size would you recommend? LOOKS like they would love to climb on that terrarium. Beautiful, and you have a pond too?.
@@heididiffley4143 i have kept leopard geckos and in naturalistic habitats for almost a decade now. if you do have them together and your noticing any issues with fighting or picking at each other, I highly recommend you get a secondary habitat for the other animal. It’s already highly recommended to keep the species solitary, but if you have two females it can be done, but is only recommended for people with years of experience as it’s not easy. For example I would say the minimum to keep two female leopard geckos in together is a 4x2x2 or a 120 gallon enclosure. But I would caution you to get two 40-75 gallon tanks From there you simply need to setup two bioactive tanks. For leopard geckos I use a mix of top soil, sand, and what they call exoterra stone desert (if you can’t get this you can use food grade bentonite clay and washed decomposed granite from your local rock yard) Simply mix equal parts of each (if your using the bentonite clay and granite as separate ingredients only use a half part of each of those two) This substrate should hold its shape when you poke your finger into it, and dry with a hard crust on the surface. With your substrate made you need to build your tank. First take sone clay drainage balls (you can get these at any garden store) and lay them down as well as some substrate barrier mesh this is made commercially and there is also weed barrier mesh you can get at garden stores as well. After your drainage layer is down, put about 4-6 inches of substrate down in each tank with varying heights and depths. Then plant any appropriate and safe plants you want. (You can order vivarium plants online) Add your hides, rocks, branches, climbing stuff, water bowl, and food bowls Than get and add what they mall spring tails and isopods, these will breed in your leopard geckos tanks and clean any waste they make. Then throw a layer of sparse leaf litter down (you can get leaf litter for fish and reptiles online.) Then get a grow light for each tank. (You can order a screw in LED panel grow light for terrariums online as well as cheap hanging lamp sockets as well. Let those habitats sit for 2-5 weeks to get established and add your animals to each of the two new tanks you made.
He displays advanced awareness and planning. I had no idea how intelligent these things were. I just saw a video of one attacking a snack that was constricting another gekko, he showed so much altruism, and wouldn't stop until the snake released his friend. The gekko being attacked moved his tail like a snake tail while he was in danger as well. Crazy social behavior. Beautiful animals. Thanks for sharing.
Tiki is like the internet’s favorite tokay, he shows that if you get a captive bred baby and work with them often they can be very tolerant of people and not defensive.
I give this video a trillion points! It's beautiful, funny, reveals the unique relationship between gecko and owner and the quirky behavior of this one Tokay in particular. All I can say about hornworms based on how reptiles react to them is they must taste wonderful. Like mint green cheesecake or tiramisu or something.

I think he was shaking his tail to attract the snake to it so the snake would bite it first and he could get away bc they can regrow their tails
