After my Dublo Scotsman, this is my favourite locomotive. Mine has the number 44. Even though it is a basic model which dates back to the 1980s, I absolutely love it. Even now that I moved to far more detailed locos, this one is my pride. I detailed it up with cab detail, added footplate, lamps, real coal and screw link coupling on the front. It runs great, except for the slow speeds. I ordered an HM7000 decoder for it, I can't wait to see what sounds this one will play. Great repair, should the time come to service mine, I will refer back to this video. Your detailed repairs helped me a lot with my locos, especially the 14xx. Happy new years and have a good night. Wow! That loco was in a very sorry state. It's always tough to sort out items with wires floating around everywhere. I'm not familiar with that loco, but something seems strange with the front pony. Is that how they usually look? Happy New Year to you and yours plus all channel watchers too of course.
That was a great repair job. I know what it feels when you make a good job of something, I am trying to restore some Bachmann split chassis model. I have seven of them in pieces and so far I have restored 2 of them. Another 2 are for spares, so that leaves 3 to go. I was working on a V1 in LNER green. I have rebuilt the chassis and now the motor run fine. I have put the wheels back and the quartering is ok. It is the valve gear that is causing me a problem. I just had to walk away and try again sometime. Happy New year to you and you family. Martin. (Thailand)
