The best early game cook is the humble nutrient paste dispenser.
Can't get filthier than eating filth amr?
You mean the human paste dispenser
if i play tribal thats hardlyan early game item
@@treekid7455 rush for electric and then nutrient paste
You misspelled all
Pro rimrims cook outside on campfire
Pro rimrims eat raiders
On an ice sheet
@@fishstick1900 turn raiders into kibble and eat that instead
True rimrims eat colonists that couldn't make it. Then they wear their flesh as a cowboy hat.
@@huckmart2017 I think kibble is 2nd most hated food pawns can eat, 1st is a delicious raw human body base liner or any xenotype, yum!
Ah yes my favourite “early game” floor, sterile tiles.
in his defence if your trading just what ever you can get a hold of or just use steel thoes tiles are dirt easy. with a standard rimworld start (the 3 cryo pawns non of the others)
You can just do steal tiles early game, still get a cleanliness boost
I got sterile tiles pretty easy early on, I think it was the second or third thing I researched because I had a terrible doctor and they needed the extra help. Steel and silver are pretty easy to get, steel is everywhere early game and if you're short on silver just sell a ton of smokeleaf joints.
But it is early game???
It's literally unlocked before microelectronics. And anything before micro is not late or mid game at all.
@@Steven-nq7fx depends on the start. Mechanitor eh early game if you rush it. Normal drop start, mid game rush. Tribal late mid game can't ever rush it.
Imagine having a pyromaniac cook in that room
Cooking schmooking. You will eat nutrient paste and you will like it.
*be mildly annoyed by it depending on cultural preferences
3x1 room cooking in the doorway
Clash of clans music.
goated
You can also straight up cook on dirt floor. Because here's the thing, you can't track dirt on dirt (shocking I know) and -1 cleanliness is just above what will get you food poisoning because of a dirty cooking area. You can still get vomit, blood, and a couple other less common filth types on the floor to reduce cleanliness but that's not very common and you can usually avoid those or clean them up immediately after they're put on the floor.
You can track dirt on dirt now though, they nerfed that
Looking in the XML file for filth, apparently they've _always_ been able to track dirt on dirt, it's just been a very low chance. Now it's about as high as going from a regular piece of dirt to a paved tile.
pretty sure you can get dirt on dirt, always could. im also pretty sure the odds of it were miniscule before. but its as any other floor now.
@@samljer thus making hay floor naturally still a better option
@@atomic_bomba how the hell can dirt make dirt dirtier?!
Gotta remember pawns leaving trash on surfaces to. The one unescapable filth that pawns always cause after we have prevented dirt.
Noobert! You're here! Hi!
The right way to cook is called "nutrient paste dispensing".
The only problem with that is that its really hard to store the meals.
Also they taste disgusting :)
@@molybdaen11 tastes better than malnutrition
@@Hey-up5eo That's true. This Kijin eat like there is no tumorrow.
@@molybdaen11 transhumanist ideology nullifies this issue entirely
Cringe
If you want to cook the efficient way, build a 2x3 with a normal/electric stove, in the slot where colonists use the stove put there a storage zone of low priority and allow nothing but meals and make every order in the stove "drop on floor", now when your colonist finishes cooking something like simple mealx4, they will drop it and it will count as a meal in storage, with that your pawn can stop an order whenever he finishes the order and not when the meals are hauled, also in the left and right make a different storage zone, one with vegetables and the other with wood if you are using fueled stove or campfire
Filth only cause food poisoning if a room's cleanliness is below -2. The cleanliness of a room is based on the average cleanliness of every tiles on that room. Hence, having larger rooms will make it less likely that cleanliness will get low enough to cause food poisoning before your cleaner takes care of it.
I just use the common sense mod, automatic cleaning before cooking :)
This is to counter the -1 cleanliness of dirt floor which cannot be cleaned.
There merit to this, but one major problem with star floors is that they are *highly* flammable. The first impid or electrical fault will turn your base into an inferno.
Damn, CoC bg music brings memories.
coc music
Damn first time I really learn something from your videos, even tho I watch them all. Keep it up!
Straw matting is legit one of the best tiles in Rimworld. The only downside is minus cleanliness and beauty which can be fixed with sterile tiles and sculpture. I recommend kitchen, hospital, and jail room tiled with this combination.
對對對,還有用火的時候燒得特別快
A prison and person hospital with straw floors actually seems fitting 🤔
By the time you have the hay you have enough for wood flooring
Bro has single handedly saved my rimworld games. Would’ve never gotten to the end tech without his help. Thank you veequeue
You deserve more subs. Commenting for the algorithm.
*when cooking at home*
Interesting
I'm not cooking wrong, I'm intentionally causing the cooking area to be gross on purpose, That's why it's in the Pig pen.
the best early game is just eat that food raw off the floor
So what you are trying to say is... use hay on nutritional paste dispencer
Veequeue: "The best way to avoid food poisoning is by-"
*Nutrient paste dispenser has entered the chat*
Nutrient Paste Dispenser: "Oh sorry to interrupt, you were saying?"
but - 1 dirtyness is safe for cooking. foodpoisoning due to filthy cooking area start at -2 dirty or not ? So from a regular dirtfloor kitchen you'll never get food poisoning. Just try nto to have your kitchen be in a place where people cosntantly walk through to haul stuff and whatnot. Then you barely got to clean and don't have to wait for hay to grow to make your kitchen super flammable ^ ^
Ahhh, yes…my beloved! The Clash of Clans Theme
I also like the Clash of Clans OST!
Also do that in your warehouse if you use animals for hauling for the same reason. Elephants are great but filthy
Or just build nutrient paste
Pemmican
BAD ADVICE - LEARN HOW CLEANLINESS WORKS WITH FOOD POISON CHANCE
What the heck! This flooring is such a good idea! Thanks!
Im gonna get this game soon and all this stuff is so confusing 😭😭
u got the game yet?
I wonder how is it like for you now.
It won't be once you start playing it 😊.
I got it now a few days after thinking for a long time of i would like this or not, i love it i'm hooked
ONE OF US
RIP everything else in your life
Very perfect for humans especially when you have a lot of raider meat to chop up
or you do what a normal person would do and have NPM through to the end game
Clash of clans theme 😂cool
That clash of clans music 😎
Are you playing Rimworld or Clash Of Clans? 💀
Cash of Clans- donate more
Ah yes, I too, have Sterile Tiles at early game.
?
Same with an actual stove, who does anything other than a campfire early game? and as if I’m gonna waste time growing hay instead of much needed food.
i always thought it was best to cook on direct dirt ground so there was no cleanliness factored in
I almost forgot about cooking meals after converting to nutrient paste gang with my transhumanists who actually enjoy paste.
Also i got the nutrient paste extended mod so i have a hopper 4 times the size and pipe paste throughought my base to various rest stops as well as having feeding stations to feed my patients in the hospital without spending pawn labor to do it.
The music is symphony of war
i love how dirty floors increase chance for food poisoning, how i imagine that works is as so:
the colonist is cooking, and decides to just scoop up some of the dirt on the floor and adds it to the meal for shits n giggles
Jokes on you, nutrient paste dispenser for life. No losing time on cooking, no food poisoning and more food with less ingredients? Hell, i am in
You fought so hard to stay alive you forgot what you were staying alive for... Delicious succulent roasts with side of corn and potatoes.
I legit play harder so I can imagine they're having this 😂
I dunno, hay takes a while to grow. I feel like you can just cook on dirt floor for the start until you can afford to set a pawn with high priority on cleaning. I guess if you're in a cold biome where you have to start stocking hay for your animals right away to survive the winter then you'd get the hay to do this as a matter of course, but I'm not sure it'd be worth going out of your way to plant early just for this.
Nice CoC music👌
I had no idea. Gonna use this next time
Brilliant. Will adopt this method.
Yeah, it's one of those things that I knew of it's existence, but didn't think to implement in this way. Luckily in my game I've been pretty good about cleaning my kitchen before I start cooking. Haven't had any food poisoning in quite awhile.
Thank you I always have a hard time with food early game
no food poisoning from rooms with higher than -2 cleanliness.
Really should be fire hazard from this though
The theme song is a clash of clan soundtrack
Careful about the 200% famabilty, double as flamable as woodm I can easily spread faster than you can put it out
If i did this most of them will start fight while starving, campfire op
Food poisoning from a dirty cooking area is not possible until a room or space reaches -2 cleanliness. Above that, the only factor that contributes to food poisoning is cooking skill. You track dirt in from non-floored areas to floored areas. Once cleaned, dirt floor can’t accumulate dirt, only trash and blood (which contributes to cleanliness too) but for the sacrifice of not having the cleanliness bonus of a floor, you greatly reduce the likelihood and potential of food poisoning dirty cooking area
Bro casually puts Clash Of Clans theme in the background thinking we would not notice.
Except Straw Matting has a -1 cleanliness offset. That room would count as filthy.
ty, now i do this every time
Might try this. Currently I have filth turned off with a mod because no matter what I do the entire base is filthy all the goddamn time. I tried paved walkways, tried doormats, tried dedicated cleaners and 90% of the time I'm still looking at little doo-doo footprints all over everything.
Ah yes, I do love every time I need to cook I need to wait 7 days for hay to grow so I can have 0% less food poisoning chance.
lol yah.
tbh after the first week the hay floor is really a solid option here.
Clash of clans sound got me 💀
you're assuming I have enough warm days in the year to plant hay AND crops for my pawns.
You're cooking wrong if you build a kitchen bigger than the stove. Building 1x3 kitchen with any flooring placed an the only place that can get dirty is right in the door which should never be enough to cause food poisoning.
.The clash of clans music makes tbis ten times betyer
The only way to cook early game is eating raw rice till you finally get the stone bricks to build your freezer kitchen
protip: putting a butcher's table facing towards a body of water greatly reduces the blood splatters on floors by butchered animals
Just make a custom xenotype and get robust digestion.
Until a fire comes along 😅😂
El mejor es el dispensador de pasta y recién en ANOMALY aprendí a usarlo...😢😢
What about the water tile kitchen strat, which cannot get dirty ever
The common sense mod also helps
Above -2 cleanliness can cause food poison
Now that I think of it... hay grow quite long...
Bruh im just using pemican or yummy food dispenser
That song in the background. It’s familiar to my ears. Is that star ocean second story music ?
Clash of clans lmao
Cannibalism is the way, raids for me are nothing but Ifood delivery.
perfect for huuumanz - LoL
Grug not need cooking when can eat raw meat with iron gut
Cooking? Huh...500 hours never tryed that
Thios is genius. Thank you, I never thought about this :D
Simple workaround. Just don't get food poisoning.
I had a Barn set up in an ancient danger full of A dog Said Megasloths and Thrumbos and i left it for a day before seeing that there was just so much fifth everywhere, and had to tear up the floor cause it was faster than cleaning
I just use the “Common Sense Colonists” mod so they always clean before cooking. No more avoidable food poisoning for me!
if room is higher then -2 clean there is exactly no chance to get food poison.
Big rooms are almost impossible to get this dirty.
Just use hay. I wouldn't ever use sterile tiles in the kitchen. Too much wealth for no benefit. A room has to be extremely dirty (under -2) to meet the threshold that increases the poisoning chance. With a room of the size in this video, this is not happening unless horribly neglected. Place hay, be happy, or just cook in your big living room and you'll be fine, too!
Dirt only affects poison chance if it’s below -2, right?
coc music 🗿
butchers worked on sawdust back when
That’s really good to know
Or you use sterile tiles with a mod that makes your pawns clean before they cook
Me, living on a rim with -80°C, building hydroponics while being extremely close to death cause of starvation, wondering why the fk would I ever sow hay instead of rice:
Haha pasta go brrr
Wait. The posibilities are infinite with this
Just put the kitchen on rough stone. 0.00 cleanliness when clean.
What is hay used for? I only use it for flooring
Shame it takes forever to grow. I used to use it.. but wow, nutrient paste is superior . Unless you are going to crash site
Also, keep your butchering spot AWAY from the kitchen.
And plan your kitchen in such a way it is not a room everyone has to go through.
Before you get sterile tile, or if you want to cheap out, use steel tile instead - they should deter all food poisoning due to unclean environment, unless you get your kitchen really filthy.
Additionally, have one less useful pawn on cleaning duty - OR get a cleansweeper mechanoid ASAP.
Whats with the castle storm music
Or just... clean
