I had no idea that this Sega Genesis Plug and play even existed before seeing it at the thrift store. What kind of plug and plays did you have back in the day?
SUBSCRIBE FOR NEW VIDEOS ALMOST DAILY!
I heard that the audio is a bit too bass boosted but at least this did better than the AtGames genesis
There is a way to fix that issue of the sound quality of this plug n play. 8-bit guy made a video a while back discussing and solving this issue.
I had one of those back as a kid but it was a Sonic edition. It had Sonic 1 and 2, with pinball and the Tetris like robotnic game. So many hours, so many good times
Dr. Robotnic's Mean Bean Machine is one of my favorite Puyo Puyo games of all time.
So even back then Sonic 3 neglected?
@@alchemistofsteel8099 I guess so my friend. Even though I absolutely love S3
@@alchemistofsteel8099 They made volume 2 which had a red controller and Sonic 2. The one pictured in thr video is volume 1.
@@alchemistofsteel8099cuz of the MJ music
This plug and play emulates the sound quality way better than the Atgames fire core console.
Never tried one of those.
@@LetsOpenOldStuff they play the original cartridge which is cool but it has poor emulation and sound quality.
Yeah, it’s not perfect but it’s much better than that. There’s a fix too, the 8-bit guy did a video where he improved the audio in a Radica Genesis he owns for example, it’s not too difficult of a mod.
kids fortunate enough to experience sega channel

Seeeeega
Used to have it back in the day but eventually lost it.
With the internet, I might cop a copy or just pick up a Genesis Mini 1 and 2!
this is an hardware clone with no emulation! built-in games are on a soldered rom wich is virtually the same as a real cartridge. you can find guides where people removes the chip and wire a cart slot in its place so it could run your original carts!
Also the hardwired controller works like a stock one (aside the extra button), if you cut the cord and wire your own DB9 socket you can use it on an original megadrive, which is what i did :)
Very interesting. Super cool!
Very cool info
I had Namco Arcade Joystick from Plug and Play
I'm an early 2000's kid, so the type of Pack N Play we had when we were kids were SpongeBob (the one where is nose was the joy stick) and Disney Princess.
I actually have that sponge bob one from thrifting! Thanks for your comments!
I had one of these, it included Street Fighter Champions Edition and Ghouls and Ghosts
Had the blue one and the red one back in the day. Recently ordered them from ebay just to have them in my collection. The blue controller is the coolest genesis controller ive ever seen.
It really is nice.
8 bit guy did a review on it.
The sound is awful but HE PROVIDED a good tutorial on how to stop the bad sound quality
Yeah the controller has weight to it. Its a plug and play, the controller is the console. The black genesis part just holds the batteries.
I had one of these as a kid, that menu music takes me back
Nothing like a daily dose of nostalgia!
I have a Namco one that has quite a few games, and a Star Wars one that looks like the Millennium Falcon.
Plug N' Plays
Have it! 😃 ( Well, mega drive) cool little product
I actually used to have this plug and play game along with two others back in the day. I eventually ended up giving them to thrift shops just this year because there are modern Sega Genesis compilations that have all the same games and more, and as a result, these older plug and play games didn’t get much use from me.
I got mine at a thrift store. I'm a hoarder myself.
I would pick this up if I found it for five dollars complete 💫🎮
I have this pac man one that’s shaped like pac man
I used to have a bunch of arcade plug n plays
How many games it has this Sega Genesis mini in side ! Plus I love ❤️ sega . I never had some ! But I want to have some soon !! Nice controller it’s and it’s unique
My plug and play are the original consoles. I plug it into the wall and TV, put a cartridge in and power it on. ❤ (And I have more than 6 games 😂😂😂)
I use to had that & I do still got the SEGA Genesis AtGames 2015 Plug n Play
Do you like it?
@@LetsOpenOldStuff It's ok even though it's have the Worst Cheap Controllers with the Wireless Sensor, The Display is not even good as the Original SEGA Genesis, and the PSG Sound Emulation is Trash. Although the Ultimate Portable Game Player can have the Sound Emulation fixed by using Neto Bootloader.
@@darksilentkill8282 The Atgames Firecore console sucks I’d rather get the Sega Genesis Flashback, the Sega Genesis Mini or I just get the original or this plug and play console the Arcade Legends
You can actually mod it with a SD Card!
That would be interesting.
I always wanted one of these, I heard you can mod it to take cartridges.
For plug and plays I have, I still have an Atari Flashback 1 (the one that runs on NES hardware) and an Atari Flashback Portable.
I would buy it just to take the shell of that controller and put it on my OG Genesis controller
That would be interesting. What about it do you like so much?
@@LetsOpenOldStuff I guess is the color, or maybe I'll just keep it as it is a part of my games collection
I had that before when I was a kid
I still have this, I asked mom for it in Target during summer 2004, but she wouldn't let me have it. I opened it on Christmas morning later that year alongside 3 PS2 games and a DS game, signifying I would soon get a DS once they were back in stock.
It still works today but I have to use it with the power adapter because I left batteries in it too long so there is corrosion indoors.
The other plug and plays I gave include a SpongeBob one and an Activision toy from Avon I asked mom for back then.
Now that's a good Christmas!
@@LetsOpenOldStuff Oh yeah, I often refer to it as my favorite Christmas gift-wise.
My childhood.
i just have the pac-man plug-and-play controller (the one that’s shaped like pac-man, not the life-sized joystick that my middle school programming teacher has and that u have to put under ur foot 24/7) and the nes classic edition (or nes mini, if ur from europe). kind of want the ps1 mini because it’s way cheaper than buying all those games for my ps2.
I love plug n plays lol.
I have many minis! SNES, NES, MD/Genesis and PS1! Hope i can buy the Atari and the PC-Engine too! ♥️♥️♥️👍👊
That's a pretty sweet collection.
I remember Ben Heck took one of these Sega Genesis mini things and made it a portable
That's actually awesome
@@LetsOpenOldStuff yes. Sega Exodus
I just found one yesterday in Baghdad market ... bought it immidiatly for 20K IQD (~ 14 USD) .... nestaliga
That's awesome. Interesting to hear where people are from!
That’s cool
I thought so
I had that and lost it 🥲🥲🥲
at least it's better than the atgames one
That screen flicker tho
It's not as bad in person.
I had a bike plug and play
Thomas the train?
@@LetsOpenOldStuff no like just this bike one
Cool I have a double dragon 30s year plug in and play
Now that's a cool one
I usually buy any I see
Same here. I have a little collection of them now. Fun to mess around with now and again.
The nes power cord works on it
Interesting!

Yea i got one from my oldest sister and it doesn’t work
i have atari plug and play
How close was the sound emulation?
I'd have to go back and compare. It didn't sound bad to me but I also didn't play for long.
A
Ea Sports football and hockey
Classics
I had one and used the debug menu for sonic to screw around but after awhile it ended up glitching the whole thing and it wouldn’t work properly 🥲
Wowzers!
