    Hi you guys! Some of you wanted to see how I DIY these thrifted pieces to look like aged pottery. Let me know if you have any questions, and let me know which is your favorite piece! Thank you for watching!

    My mother in law used to love to create aged vessels. She used to add coffee and cinnamon to pieces and it really gave it another much older effect

    I just stumbled across your video today while I was inside cooling off...let me just say WOW!! I am a crafter upcycler, thrifter, decorator...I'm follow several RUclips channels. But I'm VERY impressed with this one from you. I've watched multiple videos on how to get that aged earthenware, antique pottery look. Yours was really very good! For a couple reasons- you are easy to understand, to the point, very clear in your instructions and you show what your doing but not 25min of rambling on about it. I didn't FWD once! I'm going to check out the rest of your channel now! 👍🏻

    • @thisgirlathome
      @thisgirlathome  Год назад +1

      Hi Robert! As long as your vessel is cleaned and dry you can use the baking soda mixture. Definitely do not use any water!! It will dilute your mixture and you’ll have a wet mess on your hands that won’t stick well. Just stick to the paint and baking soda.

    These are beautiful! You are so very talented. I attempted one pot. It was a major fail. F.A.I.L. I think I had too much baking soda and didn't blend enough. So envious of yours, they look like you bought them like that. ⚱

    • @thisgirlathome
      @thisgirlathome  Год назад +1

      Thank you! I know the mixture can be a little tricky to get used to, especially because it makes the paint dry so quickly. It helps if you have a damp paper towel handy. You can use that to smooth spots that aren’t blended well 🖤

And did you use acrylic paint or the one we use on furniture or walls? Thank you!!!

    • @thisgirlathome
      @thisgirlathome  Год назад +1

      Thank you! ☺️ I used baking soda in all of the paint, even the accent colors. It keeps the texture consistent. I used both types of paint actually. It doesn’t make a difference which you use, I just used what I had on hand.

    She's not kidding about doing think layers. I learned that the hard way and ended up throwing my first try away (it was a recycled jar, so no biggie). Keep in mind you can create texture/depth with the paint after you do a layer of joint compound.
